No preorder bonuses with UK retail special editions?

I've been keeping an eye on things to see whats been going on with the Deluxe and Inquisitor editions in the UK, since atm there is no retail version on the Deluxe or Imperial for the PC in the UK. While I was checking that I found that while last week it was possible to get the preorder bonus from Game.co.uk with the armour, weapon pack and mount, however that has changed this week. Now Game (who have the exclusive on the Deluxe edition) only offers the preorder mount, Amazon have the weapon pack, Shopto have the armour pack, and Gamestop (who have the Inquisitor edition) has no preorder bonus. Not only that, when I checked Game further I noticed that the preorder bonus is only on the standard edition, the fine print even specifies the offer as only being for the standard edition. The only place I could fine all three preorder bonuses together in the UK was on EA's own Origin store (which is also the only place that you can get the PC version of the Deluxe edition).

So in the UK you can have a Deluxe edition, and Inquisitor's edition, or one of three preorder bonuses, but none of them together unless you buy the PC edition from EA's own store (at a higher price than the retail copies).

Yep, this is what I pretty much noticed. In America, it seems they get all the preorder bonuses no matter what version they buy, but here in the UK each preorder item is exclusive to a certain shop. It's pretty stupid. The Deluxe edition is too expensive for me so I'm just going with Amazon's Standard Edition weapons pack. If it's a mistake, I hope the devs clear it up. If not - and I don't think it is - I'm just disappointed.

Game includes these "pre-order" bonuses as part of the Deliux edition for consoles (not marked as pre-order bonus so) .. unless of course you are after the PC versions, in which case sadly, bad luck :(

What a bloody mess!!! Well done EA and Bioware for really putting a damper on us UK gamers. I guess it's our penance for not being American or Canadian, huh.

Yeah its quite annoying. Our current choices are; pay an extra £10-15 on Origins or just only have access to one pre-order bonus. I'm having a hard time justifying paying so much more on Origins just for the Deluxe which is why I haven't preordered yet. I mean, a throne I don't care for, a unicorn I would never use and an ok looking stag? That really isn't worth the overhead from Origins, especially when console gamers get all of that for less...

For Bioware games I tend to preorder right away and always the Deluxe (or equivilent) edition. But this time... nope. A real kick in the teeth for UK PC gamers.

Dumb question, but if you have access to it on the EA Origin store for the UK, why is there complaining?

If it is a question of not getting it on Origin for whatever reason, then you made your decision already it seems regarding which version you wanted, no?

It's about getting the same choices in the UK that are made available in the US.

Some folks may want the full deluxe version with all the trinkets.

Personally, I want the version Origin is offering, but I want a physical copy of it, not a download only.

Apparently, making things simple and straight-forward is too much to ask.

Use proxy, buy digital deluxe on US Origin. Works out about £40.

If we buy it on Origin, it's more expensive by about £20. The game's standard edition is supposed to include all the preorder bonuses like in the US, but this isn't the case. The only way we can get all the preorder bonuses is by buying the Deluxe edition of the game on Origin, but we shouldn't have to do that.

I'm giving serious consideration to buying it from Amazon US and paying the extra for the premium shipping option, so it arrives in time for the weekend.

Also, just to add salt to the wound, the digital deluxe edition is no longer available to preorder via the Dragon Age website.

Woah, this is such a mess! So basically we can't even get the full weapons and armour pack?? That sucks! D:

In the Origin store, we're talking about a digital copy, right?

I can almost forgive this because it can be at least bought digitally on Origin.

What I can't forgive is the complete lack of a PC collectors edition here and in other countries, and whatever nonsensical reasoning is behind it.

Compared to other companies whose Collectors editions I have always been able to order on any system without issue it feels like a complete farce.

I'll be getting the digital deluxe edition tomorrow, Having got a Star Citizen Freelancer Pledge Package(works out around £70)and some people are buying the Constellation pledge package at £165, so to me £60 is not that expensive and being a Dragon Age fanatic with both DAO:UE,DA2 with all the DLC along with all the books and every issue of the Dark Horse digital comics its just something I have to have.

That's before I get to my rig which I have built for this game and Star Citizen I'm about £1750 into a £2500 system which will be completed late July though it can run both games at ultra Settings now I'm going all out for 4K gaming , anyone else think this is a damn expensive passion lol

As someone who is in 'the rest of Europe', I'm pretty sure that since the UK has pre-order bonuses all over the place, pre-order bonuses will probably be nonexistent everywhere else in Europe, or just as bad. I will personally order from the UK and just hope it doesn't take forever to get here.

I will do the same. Although what bothers me is the fact that the rest of Europe is never mentioned. I know UK is basically where we need to buy it from, but i feel ignored lol :P

Story of my life, hahahah. But as long as we are able to get the bonuses from somewhere, I can deal with it.

I don't understand the above link.

Has anyone asked the devs where we will be able to get the full deluxe version for PC? I know they have confirmed the Inquisitor's edition for the UK, I'm talking about a deluxe copy with all the bonuses.

I can't answer all your questions, but hopefully I can clear up a few things. There are 3 editions for Dragon Age: Inquisition: Standard, Deluxe, and Inquisitor's. There are digital versions of the Standard and Deluxe editions on all platforms, except for Xbox 360, which is physical only. The Inquisitor's edition is a packaged goods offering only and, for the most part, includes the Deluxe edition box inside (more details on this nuance will be coming Very Soon Now).

There are 3 different pre-order items we are offering: Flames of the Inquisition Arsenal, Appearance, and Mount. The Arsenal item is available to every retailer on all platforms. They just have to decide to participate in this pre-order offering. Occasionally, a retailer will chose not to participate in this program, but that is their decision. These pre-order offering are only available if you pre-order and once the game is released, this offering ends. With me so far, I hope?

The reason that there is no pre-order offering for the Deluxe edition (and therefore the Inquisitor's edition) is because the Deluxe edition already includes the 3 pre-order items as part of it, for all time, on all platforms. Pre-ordering the Deluxe or picking it up after the game is released gets you the same three Arsenal, Appearance, and Mount offerings.

Can you speak to the likelihood of Bioware making the Inquisitor's Edition for PC available to us Brits please Derek?

Do you mean Arsenal, Armour and Mount?  Because the weapons and the arsenal seem like they're the same thing

Whoops, yeah, bad copy and paste from another document. It is Arsenal, Appearance, and Mount. Fixed it above.

But...I still don't understand why we can't get the Deluxe edition on PC from anywhere.

Basically you're saying that in the UK, retailers have decided that instead of offering the normal Deluxe edition, they have made their own 'editions', by having each retailer have a different part of the deluxe bonuses and spreading them out instead of offering them all at once?

Doesn't that also mean that by them doing that, the UK will be unable to get the Deluxe edition even after the pre-order period ends?

As I understand it, there are 3 editions for Dragon Age: Inquisition: Standard, Deluxe, and Inquisitor's. The Inquisitor's Edition may or may not contain the Deluxe Edition, which cant be pre-ordered because the Arsenal DLC is being made available to every retailer, though some may choose not to participate in Biowares 'programme'! And there's no Inquisitor's version for PC in Europe because reasons!

Clear as mud isn't it?
