Yes, it was a very satisfying finale and overall a solid season. Really liked the visual parallel with Charming and Emma on their respective quests, Rumpel still managing to 'pull the strings' (and his reunion with Belle ALL THE FEELS), as well as how well the episode in general was constructed in bringing the season full circle with plenty of narrative callbacks to the pilot. However, there were some scenes I wasn't particularly satisfied with.
First of all, I would have personally preferred had Henry's sacrifice been the key into finally convincing Emma to believe in the fairy tales, but meh, this is a fairy tale show in the end so guess it needs it "happily ever after" part in it. Second, the way the handled the reunion between David and Mary Margareth. While I ship Charming and Snow, David and Mary are one that I didn't and that has mainly to do with David. While he shares the same traits as Charming he is in a lot of ways different and the direct opposite. Charming is strong, honest, straightforward, altruistic and just. David--while a good man and often means well--is often indirect, quite selfish at times, feeble and even devious. These aspects of course is not on their extreme with David and while mostly understandable they exist there and is something I couldn't see Prince Charming ever turning into. Him trying as a last effort to get with Mary was cheap and Mary did right in turning him down. When the curse was lifted I a little rolled my eyes in how poorly their reunion was handled. Then again it is understandable that since they now are Charming and Snow again this would be the right course of action for them to take, but I would say that David and Mary's relationship "ended" there.
All in all, those are just minor concerns and overall I really enjoyed this season. It neatly wrapped up the timeline between the Enchancted Forest and Storybrook, answered unanswered questions and brought new ones to the table and I am looking forward to Season 2. Hopefully it will be as solid as Season 1, if not better.
