This was my reaction to finding out Amy Acker is a character in this show too. I adored her in Angel, although admittedly that was ages ago.

 

I was going to say I haven't even seen her in ages but I guess that's not technically true with Heimdall's profile pic

(Actually, I've always wondered about the other kids in Storybrooke.  The curse stopped time for twenty-eight years.  Was Henry the only one aging?  Was everyone else retaking the same grade over and over again?)

I want to watch Grimm eventually since my mom loves it so much but Agents of Shield sounds pretty meh so I don't know if I'll ever end up going through that series. Still, I do adore that actress.

Fun to be out of Storybrooke for a while, though the party boat itself was sadly short lived. Good banter from the villains as per usual (I'm all out of fish food).  

 

And of course, he was only in it for a few minutes but Gold still stole the show. Totally thought he was gonna spare Tamara there after helping her out. Clearly I need to have a little faith. Bad call leaving the cane on the boat though. It would have come in handy with Tamara. That and we now know Pan has a corporeal form with which to connect blunt instruments.

Fans should be getting their Amy Acker fix from Person of Interest. She has a great character there.

I have so far, even if just for one episode. They make a cute, albeit unlikely couple. She's adorably cute and clumsy and he's rough and turns into mush when dealing with her, plus they're star crossed lovers and who doesn't love that?

I like how he was willing to trade his boat to try and help her out even though his dream is to be a sailor. It's incredibly touching :')

Watched Episode 1 of Season 2 and must say it impressed me.

The Season 1's game-changing finale set the stage for a new direction for the show with new grounds to cover, and while I felt that this episode was more of an appetizer for what is to come, it did manage to portray certain key points that I wanted it to showcase, especially the reunion in Storybrook. I was fully expecting a "hugs and kisses" kind of reunion with the general population of the town, which is of course understandable since the curse is broken, they have their memories back and the successfully stopped Regina. However it was Emma's reaction that interested me the most and I must say the show handled it very well. While the general populace are overjoyed, Emma is the only one who is having a hard time dealing with it. Having everything around you to change drastically into what you didn't believe was possible and with the addition of her reunion with her parents that she thinks abandoned her (and still thinking they did) whilst Snow and Charming's view on the matter is that is was a necessary cost, parallels quite brilliantly with each other--a taste of both joy and sadness--gives it a very realistic tone. Love it!

 

Also liked how the plot between Regina and Rumpel were handled since they do share quite a similar concept--having someone loving them (Henry and Belle) despite their actions and hoping they can change. I get the feeling that both Regina and Rumple will struggle with themselves of changing for their loved ones and to what extent they will go to achieve their respective trust. I like this concept for characters like Rumple and Regina and am interested how the conflict will develop throughout this season.

 

Meanwhile we have the Enchanted Forest plotline. Was surprised how the show would handle it, if at all, and am glad it is introducing new characters and a seemingly new concept since they didn't get affected by the curse. However it was quite uninteresting and while I got excited for Mulan being in the show (one of my favorite Disney 'princesses') she was quite a disappointment, not portraying much of her other than being a warrior. Though I digress, hopefully the episode will further give time to characterize her better. At least the Enchanted Forest managed to tie in the converging plotline of Storybrook into it.

 

So yeah, overall a good opening episode for this season. I get the feeling that the main theme of Season 2 will mostly be about 'forgiveness', which is a great contrast to Season 1's main theme being 'love'. Forgiveness is more complex and has a lot of potential. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I think the Cora story arc was well done. Villains are frequently portrayed as one-dimensional. Cora's uneasy alliances with Hook and Regina, her coming to Storybrooke, and the confrontation with Rumplestiltskin gave both Cora's and Regina's characters more depth. The original stories give very little character background for the Evil Queen, the same issue was also addressed in the "Snow White and the Huntsman" film.
