You know, reimagining fairy tale characters is becoming more and more common these days. I may give this one a watch because I think that idea is neat.

Show is awful IMO
I would not say it's awful. It's very family friendly and very PG 13. It manages to use classic characters and stories in fun and creative ways. It manages to walk a fine line between very cheesy and very entertaining. It's not for everyone.

Please, go for it. Its more mature than the Disneyfied tales, but less gritty than the Fables comics/The Wolf Among Us, so don't expect drug abuse, prostitutes, and that sort of thing. Though you still get murders and the like.

Yeah. The show has a way of intersecting different stories and characters that I think is quite awesome.

Prince thanks for the heads up on the Never/Wonderland goof. Mr. Gold and Regina are my two favs. Robert Carlyle and Lana Parilla make the show for me. The episode that got me interested in the series...

I have found it interesting to watch them walk that fine line between cheesiness and grittiness others have mentioned though. For a while its rainbows and "true love conquers all" and suddenly BAM! People start dying.

I'll probably give it a look over once I'm caught up with GoT. Priorities and all that.

Strangely enough, that's why I haven't watched this show.
I liked Kaidan in ME, but something about Raphael Sbarge himself kinda turns me off. Does that even make sense?
Well, sadly for me, but happily for you apparently (
) He isn't in the show very often.
I love watching Regina and Rumple too. Rumple is probably my favorite with Regina close behind.
Definitely a show spoiler ahead:
I am a sucker for love and happy endings. That's probably why I like this show so much.

That's what I wanted too. But I could see it wasn't going to happen. So the current situation involving them doesn't bother me as much as it used to.

I'm gonna quote this again only because I want to show you something- ABC has a section where they show the "cast" of the show, though really its only a few select main characters. I believe thats because these are the ones billed as lead roles while the rest are guests. That will give you a good idea of who shows up a lot. Note that some characters previously were billed as mains but then became recurring characters again, like Ruby/Red Riding Hood. I want her back to main character status actually.
Careful if you click on the links as they lead to some season spoilers.

I'm actually wondering if they're "meant to be". You know. Cause if they're not, then who are they meant to be with? It just seems kinda weird to me really.
And speaking about that sort of thing,

Haven't yet decided to watch Once Upon a Time, with all the different shows I have planned to watch beforehand. Seems like a nice show, but don't ultimately think it is for me.
But Rumplestiltskin looks like an intriguing character and could make me want to watch the show, from the little I have seen / heard from him.

The show is worth it JUST for him. Really.

He's definitely stealing the show. It's an interesting "What If?" for fans of fairy tales, but I'm not sure if it's quite enough for me.The show is worth it JUST for him. Really.
Seems accurate. If seeing the original material be twisted in new ways appeals to you, it's probably a good pick.It manages to use classic characters and stories in fun and creative ways. It manages to walk a fine line between very cheesy and very entertaining. It's not for everyone.

Aye. Its basically a more lighthearted Fables comic to me. I dig it.
