Fair point, though don't rule out them being the same character, they've done it before. Where does the name Yen Sid come from anyway? I first heard it from Kingdom Hearts.

The Sorcerer didn't have a name in The Sorcerer's Apprentice. The animators called him Yen Sid because backwards that becomes Dis Ney, and they modeled his facial mannerisms after Walt Disney.

And with the townspeople considering Mary Margaret their leader, she faces her first leadership task in trying to re-start a generator and restore the town’s electricity after Elsa freezes and damages the power lines. Meanwhile, in the Enchanted Forest of the past, Anna tries to teach a meek David to fight Bo Peep, a brutal warlord who is threatening to take his and his mother's farm away if they don’t pay her price,

 

Bo Peep? David and Anna? This one's gonna be priceless.

I have mixed feelings about season 3 episode 1. I'm liking the island alot. Neverland seems like a place with lots of potential and the basic setup is good, but the writing is soooo cheesy at times. I mean I sort of expect that but sometimes it feels like a bit much. Maybe I've just gone too long without watching it and need to give it a couple episodes to get back into the mindset.

I sort of had to laugh when Rumple ripped out that girls heart and crushed it (I know I'm a terrible person) she did lie, murder (attempted at least), torture and kidnap in order to help someone who she doesn't even know, also she did try to blow up the entire town so she's also a terrorist on top of things.

 

Figured it was possible that kid could be Peter Pan, turned out it was looking forward to seeing what they do with Pan in this season

Well, the writing has always been a bit cheesy, but it knows that so it's part of the charm.

Overall I completely agree. It fits and I have no doubt that it's self aware of it too. It's just very specific moments that it pushes the limit of my suspension of disbelief.

Ah I'm will to accept that it's just me though and either way I'm still having fun watching it so that's what counts.

It is extremely cheesy but I'd agree that it mostly works in its favour more than it does against it. Most of the time.

 

In all honesty though, that's probably the reason why I'm not as big a fan of the villains in that season...

The Hans would compensate for poor villainy in every season. Fortunately this is not necessary.

How Elsa runs afoul of Rumpelstilzkin is one of the things I'm most curious about.  I mean, there has to be some reason he'd stick her in the urn and lock up with his most dangerous magical artifacts, beyond Hans making a bargain.
