Well, it is 3am, and I'm in early tomorrow, so I'm going to sleep. This was an enjoyable episode I'm glad to have experienced, even if I am absolutely knackered tomorrow.

I'm now watching the digital HD version of Frozen to get some extra feels given where OUAT is taking it

I think I can handwave away Elsa's control issues as being related to Her distress over Anna disappearing. She just needed someone to calm her down and remind her that she has control.

Overall, great episode, Elsa's actress is nailing it! I'm a touch less impressed with Anna's actress, but that might be because she's supposed to have the more exaggerated personality, which is a little harder to do in live action I think.

Bo Peep as a sadistic warlord is one of the more novel interpretations yet to the show, and I'm digging it!

And Anna's off to see the Dark One! I can't wait for that meeting

I'm less enthused by this...other-person-with-ice-powers thing, but I can't quite pinpoint why...

Sometimes it seems a little forced to me, but that might simply be because Kristen Bell's voice made such an impression.

I'd say its the latter, yeah. For me, Anna in OUAT is definitely the Anna from Frozen. She's perfectly adorkable.

Yeah. I honestly thought Haig would be a terrible cast, but she's actually impressing me the most lately (aside from Lana, obviously). Seeing her in action has really helped my impression.

I wish they'd stop shoehorning Hook into everything. They skipped his entire redemption arc and gave him no motivation other than trying to get into Emma's pants, writing the romance so badly they had to make him state out loud "no don't worry viewers I don't see her as an object". He's got no depth to his personality, looking more like a parody of a pirate than an actual representation of one, and his styling looks kinda sweaty and gross.

 

I wouldn't mind if him and Emma actually had chemistry, but all there is to their relationship is forced shots of them hugging/holding hands, and that's it. I just can't see any passion there, good or bad, and I'm sick of his bland tumorous presence sucking the life out of whatever episode he's in. =[

Ah! It didn't occur to me that this could be the original Snow Queen! I'm suddenly more interested. I can only wonder what she's after, in the original story her main preoccupation seemed to be stealing children.

I'm not sure how he is later on but I'm early on in season 3 and I like hook so far.
Snow and Charming on the other hand are ... Ugh.

Yeah, they get a bit annoying in season 3, I think they get better in the second half if I remember.

Hook's problem later is that he really has no reason to be hanging around except wanting to be with Emma, so he tends to fill fairly generic functions in events while the writers try and do something with it... He feels a bit superfluous.
