The loading screen between chapters 5 and 6 gets stuck, and I am unable to transition to chapter 6 after talking to the Duke.

 

The only other bug I encountered was the inability to turn in Kerephs skull to Agnasia at the Lady's House in order to heal Ghorak. Agnasia simply won't speak to me.

 

Is there a way I can force chapter 6 to start?

This could have any number of reasons, a scratched CD being the most obvious. I notice that you don't have the BG-fixpack installed. .That might also cause problems. You can fool the computer into thinking that a certain cutscene has allready been played, but cutscenes don't seem to be the problem here.
