Noticed both recently appeared on Steam so decided to make a thread. Pretty excited about this. Metro 2033 is gonna be remade in Last Light engine. Stealth and AI were probably the most broken things in that game so it's good to know they're gonna be fixed. Last Light Redux will contain two new play styles (Spartan and Survival), new animations, enhanced graphics + includes all DLC. Those that already own 2033 and Last Light get a 50% discount on Steam.

Anyone else excited? Comment below!

We'll see. I may pick it up once it is on sale but that's about it.

I downloaded Merto: Last Light for free on PS+ for the PS3 and I thought it was a pretty okay game ( high praise coming from me considering fps's are not my thing ). I am tempted to pick it up again mainly because of the price, if developers are going to port last generation games that most gamers have already played before to the next generation consoles then the least they can do is make the price seem as attractive as possible.

Looking forward to this.

By the by, BioWare should probably do the same with ME1.

Cool. Was not expecting this, I thought that the devs just moved from the Ukraine. Figured that would slow them down a bit but nope. I loved both games, the second one was my favorite last year.

I wonder if they might give Artyom some actual dialog when your playing. I don't have any feelings against the silent protagonist and never thought it made Metro less of a game, but I know that frustrations with his silence have been brought up numerous times. It would be an interesting change in a revamped edition.

Not sure if it's confirmed or not, but I find the addition of a day/night cycle particularly interesting. I wonder if that'll just effect the number and aggressiveness of mutated creatures in a level, or if it suggests they are extending some levels enough that they're a bit more open. Metro always draws allot of comparisons to STALKER. There was that one station in the book that was open to the surface and was attacked regularly because of that, maybe a day/night cycle would effect the underground portions of the game in that way.
