So a little while ago a read a couple articles talking about David Gaider talking about Dragon Age's big lore mysteries here.

He mentions that some of them are things they wrote with an answer in mind and others are things they wrote that sounded interesting and would figure out the truth of later.

But he also says he's excited about revealing some of them in the game. He obviously doesn't say what they are so we are left to speculate and guess. Some of them are clearly things that should eventually be revealed, I think. Like the nature of Flemeth or what Red Lyrium is. But others are things that fans have come to assume are stables of the franchise. Does this mean Bioware is going to end the policy of ambiguity when it comes to religion? Do you think they will answer everything? Are we going to find out  if the Maker or the Creators really exist or not? Are we going to discover the truth of the Black City?  Will we discover what Andraste really was?

Those revelations would change the setting permanently, if we knew explicitly what was true about certain things and what was not.

Playing through Origins again, it struck me that we never did get an answer to happened in the Brecilian Forest, as the Arcane Warrior and the elves were apparently fighting humans, only to be blindsided by "something" that caused both sides to be utterly annihilated and flee in terror.

Was it the Darkspawn? Or did something like the Breach happen before?

A forgotten precursor event would certainly would explain the Veil being so thin and why you have some many demons/spirits able to cross over and inhabit the Sylvans? Come to think about it, most of the locations where the Veil is thin might be scar tissue from this happening before...

Ah, the wonders of the conspiracy tin-foil hat!

I believe it was said that the Maker will remain ambiguous. However, I do hope well get some answers regarding the golden/ black city and the blights.

I'm not sure we'll get an answer to the big questions like that. Would be a pleasant surprise i think.

One thing that's important to remember is, when you create a world with as much lore as the Dragon Age universe has, there are bound to be unanswered questions.

I imagine from the few bisquits of information and my own personal fan theories are concerned I think it will depend on a lot of things what will happen in Inquisition as far as the resolution of plot arcs.

I believe we will NEVER get an actual answer on the Makers or Creators.  SOme parts of Chantry Lore or true, in fact most are, but the big question is there a big creator God behind it all?  One can only guess.  I do believe though that depending on how some of these other revelations work out we will get an answer on a great many things will then cause the Chantry to use it as a legitimacy expedition.  AH HA see the Black City DOES exisist the Maker must to.  Am I rite?

The Red Templars should be answered in this most of the questions.  They seem to be a very important hostile organization in the game may even be second only to the Big Bad themselves.  So it should be a primary objective of the Inquisition to defeat the Red Templars and in the course of that curb stomping we will un cover many answers.  I personally doubt they will be much of a force in future games given how they are playing them up in this one...but you never know.

I think we will visit the Black City in this game and if not eventually.  It has been hinted at by enough people and enough people say they have 'been there' for it to be a legitmate place.  Futhermore I contend we have actually seen it in the distance in our previous excursions into the Fade.  So the question is not a matter of if, but a matter of when.  And when could easily be as early as Inquisition if the rumors are right.

As for the Eluvians, I think its highly likely we will get another important answer here.  The Eluvians have suggested to be portals to 'somewhere beyond the Fade' if memory does serve me correctly...so maybe the Black City?  Maybe all three of these plot points will collapse into one another at the end and the Eluvians are a cheap short cut to getting there?  Which could also explain their corruption and their evil and their taint and why every demon and their uncle and many important characters in the franchise seem to want them.

Flemeth/ OGB/ Morrigan.  I think they will play a role, certainly if Morrigan plays a role then both of them will be somewhere kicking around, but I doubt we will get any answers in this game really as to their origins or real identities and agendas.  The OGB is just too young to really be playing much of a force yet, unless they do something weird and magical which could happen...but I really suspect another game.

As far as Sandal is concerned...no friggin clue.

Yeah, I actually expect this game to leaves us with more questions than we started with. I'm sure we'll learn a few things, but I think the big picture questions will become more defined rather than actually being answered. Remember they've already stated that they are planing more games in the DA franchise, so expect answer to be few and far between because BioWare is running a long game approach to this stuff.

And I forgot about the Architect and Corypheus, I like lumping them in the same boat since they are so similar.  And the Architect is one I feel weird about because I like him I think there could be more character arc behind him and his plans, but I am not sure what those are.  Furthermore since he was a DLC antagonist and could quite easily be dead...I would love to see him again for my import where I kept him alive, but I am starting to doubt it will happen.  Corypheus on the other hand should play a major part, again if not in Inquisition then somewhere down the line and from other theories I have read and since something does appear to be 'up' with the Grey Wardens it will likely be this game.

Assuming that the Grey Wardens aren't being 'manipulated' by something else.  Maybe a new Dragon with the power of an Archdemon?

Actually if Bioware does tear the curtain down on religions and stuff, I think it would be best to only reveal it to the main cast/characters.

Like the protagonist and co. discover this secret about how the Creators and the Maker are both real, but revealing it to the world could cause some kind of chaos and anarchy, so they just keep it to themselves for the sake of maintaining stability.

Agreed^  and I think if we do get any "big" questions answered, newer, bigger questions will arise to take their place.  Bioware's writers are really good, and probably more capable than we know of developing new, major pieces of lore to surprise us with.

I think this is the direction they are going in honestly.  From everything that it looks like in Inquisition's promoational material this game is going to be huge and world changing as far as Thedas is concerned, a lot of stuff is going down, so a lot of plot lines will come to an end...but there are so many more which will be left hanging and can be expanded upon for later games.

I know for Sure Flemeth will be explained more in depth and Morrigan's plans for sure. Also, the Golden City/Black City should be explained since the game heavily involves the fade. Also, Grey Warden secrets should be getting revealed and Red Lyrium info.

its already said an shown the black city is real an you meet one of the first dark spawn, who was a tevinter mage that got turned into a monster, so if the maker, the old gods an whatever else didnt do it to them, then was it an even older civilisation that did it to them then dissapeared or got killed by the dark spawn monsters they created?
