On the 16th October 2012, Armassi81 started a thread called "Ideas for New Mass Effect Races".

It was an epic thread with loads of fantastic ideas.

http://forum.bioware...0-added-so-far/

I am hoping to achieve the same thing but with new races for The Dragon Age Setting (THEDAS).

Just to let you know

This thread isn't a request thread for the developers.

This is a just for fun fan creation thread.

So let your imagination run wild.

Bioware stated a while ago that there was a non-human race called the 'Fex' that coexist with the noble moose people of Par Vollen. With any luck they will be otter like in appearance, although cat people would be a delight as well.

Although I would be entirely behind otter folk, I've always had the impression the fex were small.  Maybe... squirrel folk?  Even... flying squirrel folk?

Something like that, comes to mind, heck maybe make them a all female race like the Asari in Mass Effect, and have them reproduce by having a race of Bee men spread their pollen.

I guess something akin to Orcs, and not the Tolken-looking ones, but the Warcraft universe based ones.

I'll get the ball rolling before people forget this thread exists.

Yertsi

Appearance: Frog/fish like humanoids covered in gills. Varieties of these creatures have been spotted in all of the colours of the rainbow. Humanoid appearance with average height of 7foot 2. Though this species has huge variation in height in adults from 2 foot to 9 foot.

What is known about them:

Little is known about this species, though most sightings of these creatures have been in the Veil.

They are magical creatures that are said to be somehow related to daemons.

Language: The Yertsi do not have a verbally spoken language. They speak telepathically with one another. Anything they communicate is automatically translated to whichever language the recipient speaks. The Yertsi never need to learn any languages and can communicate fluently with any creature including wild beasts.

Assumptions made about Yertsi: Yertsi are said to be gifted in mind reading, mind control and telekinesis. Though these rumours have been largely unfounded, the Tevinter Empire has an entire library dedicated towards these creatures. There are entire volumes about Yertsi using their mind control and wreaking havok. Due to many urban legends, when someone spots a Yertsi they either run from a Yertsi or try to kill the Yertsi on sight.

Do the Yertsi exist?: Some say the Yertsi exist. Some say they don't. Their very being remains a mystery to this very day.

Ok... don't know if you guys ever played the witcher 2, but there was a type of enemy that was spirits made of the armor of fallen soldiers, they appeared in an ancient battlefield, don't know why but I found that concept really cool. When I saw your thread I remmeberd them so here is the race, some sort of spirit race with no image and made of armor of fallen warriors (wow...just...wow...). In the universe of DA i tough about them "living" in the fade, but since the veil is thin in several locations i gess the could appear.

P.S.: Not sure if i expressed verry well the idea, so here is a picture =P
