Evil is rather subjective so you have plenty of freedom.
My dark warden was a beautiful, silver-tongued female who talked people up before killing them. They never saw it coming.
Because of this style of play, the only character I had to make hate me was Oghren, because he's apparently Bioware's favorite and is very difficult to completely get rid of. Even when he left he later returned to try to kill me. Even after his death, he joined my party as a ghost when we finally reached Branka. Doh.
Note that I didn't have Shale installed; so the only companion I couldn't kill or cause the death of was Morrigan, who I always sent packing without getting her way. When I finished the game only Anora and the door guard were present to talk to. I considered it a success.
I tend to like the idea of an evil Warden being beautiful/handsome. It's more deceptive, as many people seem to believe that beauty automatically equals good.
As for the companions who stay despite their hatred for you and your wickedness, there aren't many. Alistair won't leave unless you make Loghain a Warden at the Landsmeet. He'll be a royal ******, but he won't leave. And if/when you keep Loghain, Loghain won't leave either. Morrigan won't leave unless you tell her to, and even then she'll appear at Redcliffe Castle before the final battle to offer you the Dark Ritual. If you're playing on the PC and have the Ser Gilmore mod, he won't leave either, but he'll make a hateful Alistair look like a sweetheart. Ser Gilmore's downright horrible when he hates you. Everyone else will either leave or try to kill you.
Are you playing a warrior or rogue Cousland (I assumed HN because you mentioned marrying Anora)? If you're a warrior, you might want to keep one of your rogues from completely losing it and leaving/attempting your murder, so you don't miss out on all of the locked up loot. Of course, if you use the "Lock Bash" mod, I believe a lack of a rogue is no longer an issue.

So much this.

LOL, wtf? That's hilarious.
Hey, maybe I can make a totally angel warden who looks just like the evil warden and change the hair colour.
You know, I'm going to go all out weird and make a mage. Great for matching up hair style mods, will be entropic and competition for morrigan. Forget Anora, this one has their eyes set on something bigger - manipulation through devilish talents to drain life from the very country they live in.
Still a human, just different...
