Ofcourse, the most powerful Biotic in the galaxy besides Shepard has no place on the Normandy, nor the battlefield./sarcasm

And no, not talking about Jack. Bioware did a horrible job at making her 'extremely powerful'. Pull, Shockwave and Warp Ammo, are you f'ing kidding me??? And in ME3, she gets a Warp. Woohoo. How is that in any way or shape more powerful than someone who drops singularities like Hansel and Gretel dropped breadcrumbs, can do Stasis, and also has Warp and Warp Ammo?

They should've made a special power for Jack that just ignored every kind of protection, like Flare. Instead you get a biotic with no access to Barrier, but does use shotguns (...) and has a useless power like Shockwave.

Oh god, yes! I'm not the only one who noticed this. She's basically useless on anything higher than Normal.

I die more from trying to set up screenshots than I do playing the game. Rushing into stupid situations just to use a flamethrower for example.
Anyway regards jack, in me2 I find her singularly useless. I'd rather take samara or miranda anyday of the week (and usually both at the same time for sheer biotic goodness).
Liara in me3 is a powerhouse if you have a penchance for biotic explosions.

Funny, I take Miranda and Garrus all the time in Me2. In this second round, I'm taking this round with Grunt and Garrus.

Regarding squad composition, EDI, Vega, and Liara are needed to cover all classes regardless of who's alive. If not them, it would have been some other new characters. The trouble with Liara is being the SB logically precludes this, so her SB status becomes all but irrelevant. Pick one, BW. In terms of "what are you doing here" the VS and Tali offer very little if you don't romance them.

She's still super-valuable on the husk missions, though - N7: Abandoned Mine and the Derelict Reaper. Husk defenses take essentially no time to strip, and then they die instantly when their feet leave the ground. Combine, say, Mordin's Incineration Blast with Jack's Pull and Shockwave and you can roll through everything that isn't a Scion.

Unfortunately, even on those levels, Jack's got a relatively bad ammo power (Warp Ammo), two redundant abilities (Pull and Shockwave), and low survivability. Grunt and Jacob both have Squad Incendiary Ammo, both have a husk-killer power (Concussive Shot and Pull), and both have a protection power for survivability (Fortification and Barrier). Grunt also has his melee attack. They both easily outclass Jack in gameplay terms, even in the situation to which she is best suited.

I use Zaeed and Thane on Collector/Husk missions.

I swear, even on Insanity, you can sometimes take a step back and just do nothing and watch them kill stuff.

Also good choices. Especially if they have Incisors, because of the headshot glitch.

My only issue with that team is that it's squishy, and husks don't offer opportunities to just sit back in cover and relax like the Blue Suns do. As a Vanguard or a Sentinel, that doesn't really matter, but otherwise I'd rather have a tank like Jacob or Grunt in my back pocket than two snipers.

Either way, Jack just isn't that useful there, either.

What I never got about the VS is why Kaidan has more interactions (and scenes, maybe?) than Ashley, especially considering Ashley was the more popular choice as VS.

They have the same word budget. I think Jay used more of Ash's on missions and the hospital.

I guess that makes sense. I've never really noticed it though (since Kaidan is alive for 4/6 of my Shepards).

I like Kaidan. He gets a nice scene after he's back on the Normandy talking about his parents, he also has a nice scene after the ex-cerberus scientists mission in the crews quarters talking with Shepard and I like his dinner you have with him.

Nah, they have the same number, its just that Ashley has more interactions on the Citadel and Kaidan has more interactions on the Normandy. The difference between them is that Kaidan's writer actually put Kaidan's interactions to better use than Jay did with Ashleys, his are more memorable.

On the interactions, they can actually be very deceiving, since they give the perception that a character has a bigger word count than they actually have in reality, when it's just the characters writer putting the word count to better use. Liara for example, has a fair bit of interactions throughtout the game, well, mostly in the first half, she's mute in the 2nd half except for Thessia, (btw , we need to talk about this 2nd half muteness that happens in ME3), but if you pay attention, you will notice that she actually has the least amount of post-mission auto chat.

Like Jacobs missiosn for example, everyone will have something to say about that mission, except for Liara, who will just give her usual, "Thanks for coming by" dialogue and Vega, who also lacks post-mission auto chat. Her writer basically used all of her word count on interactions, with very little remaining for the auto-chat. This gives the illusion that she has far bigger word count than everyone else, when in reality, it's nearly even, except with Garrus, that dude has a far bigger word count than everyone else, by quite a large margin. After every main missions he repeats the same line in 4-5 different ways, it's hilarious.

Now on to ME3's 2nd half muteness. Anyone else notice how you seem to have so many interactions with the crew pre-coup, but then the number of interactions suddenly fall off a cliff post-coup? I have a theory about why that is, but I just wanted to know if anyone else noticed this. There were times in the 2nd half when I actually forgot that the squadmates existed, even Garrus. Liara is mute until Thessia then is never heard from again, Javik and Vega are mute until Rannoch then are never heard from again, Garrus is mute until post-Thessia and is never heard from again, Ashley is mute until post-Rannoch then is never heard from again, you can see where this is going.

There's a specific point in the 2nd half allocated to each squadmate where you get something from them, then it's bye bye until Priority:Earth. This didn't happen in the 1st half, there was so much interaction with them, then in the 2nd half it's silence until a specific allocated point in the game where you remember that they exist before they go revert back to Zaeed style dialogue, or in Liara's and Vega's cases,"Thanks for coming by" and "Hey" style dialogue.

Like I said I have a theory on why, but it's probably wrong anyway.

Depending on your playthrough, you could balance out the dialogue to make it even before and after the coup.

I like James, he has his moments.  Try having him get the AA turrets online on Rannoch. Great stuff.  At first, I was like 'meh', but as mentioned above, the character grows on you.

Carnage is pretty useful when you're playing as an engineer too.

hahahaha noticed this awesomeness in my previous run. Great job bioware!
Also James was a great honest dude!

I always used Samara and Thane on those two missions. It gives you a double dose of Throw, some Pull and some Warp. And if your Shep is an Adept, then it's a piece of cake. But quite frankly, unless Shockwave is practically maxed out it's not that efficient against a horde of Husks so I don't think Jack would be all that great there.

Pull Field is more effective than Shockwave.
