Morrigan's child. (This isn't an OGB = Inquisitor thread, don't worry.)

I'd sacrifice the first name so as to have Morrigan call the boy by the father's family name; Cousland, Amell, Aeducan, Theirin, Mctir.

It might sound a bit strange but it would be easier to program than a meaningful first name and it would thug at our heartstrings.

I think all versions of the OGB will have the same first name, and the name won't have any connection to the Warden, Alistair, or Loghain.

I love any thread about the OGB, very intriguing character that we know so little about. I'm hoping it would be a cool and very formidable name, something you could hear and be like, "Oh ****! He's a bad ass!". But I'm hoping in a future DA game( possibly DA4), for those that had a child with Morrigan (OGB or normal) world state, you could be the OGB/Normal Child if chosen male human, elf or dwarf. Your background would be like: spawned from the Hero of Ferelden and his dark-haired sorceress on the eve of the battle of Denerim; Father disappeared when you were young(don't know Warden's fate as of know) and Mother raised you away from human society for some time until bring you to Orlais. Then you can name the OGB any name you want because you are him.

If Morrigan was romanced and the character was unnamed, I wouldn't be surprised if she named it after the Warden. Maybe even Alistair. Probably something Celtci sounding, since her name is of Celtic origin. Wouldn't be surprised if in a future game you were the OGB (somehow BW would make it work) and you were an orphan who goes by name X and realizes later you're actually the descendent of Warden A. But that's such a cliche game if it is.

I have been thinking about being the OGB in DA4 or later. it would be cool to have that and I hope Bioware actually allows that to happen for players who have that world state.

Not sure why she wouldn't keep the name Urthemiel.... I mean, she doesn't seem the sort to give 2 unequaled sized craps about names.

She might want to keep his true indentity secret. Also naming the child after one of the Old Gods might draw attention from the Chantry.

True... though his existence seems to be staying a secret so far. so that might not matter.

No, the Old God name is boring since it's unoriginal. Something different I hope.

I always thought it'd be Urthemiel. He is Urthemiel reborn, why wouldn't Morrigan give him his old name?

To those who say it would draw attention: how well known are the Old Gods? How many people would know their names? And how many people would hear someone named "Urthemiel" and immediately think he's an Old God reborn? It's more likely to me they'd think his mother was just weird.

My Warden went with her through the Eluvian. Seeing as she has a position in Celene's court, I imagine my Warden has retired from adventuring and is raising the child in a secret location so Flemeth can't find them. Hence why Leliana couldn't find him. I sincerely doubt Morrigan is going to introduce to her OGB or baby daddy unless we find them or we gain her trust and she introduces us to them.
P.S. My Warden is a Male Elf Mage.

Morrigan is named after a Goddes from Irish mythology, so what about a classic celtic/norse name for the OGB?

Something like Belenos, Aeron, Taliesin, Lugh, Tanaris, Esus, Tyr....

...Thor, Loki, Odin... (ewww, no D:)

That backwards isn't "Urthemiel" though, it's "Urthemeil"

I just realized something. What if the next game (DA4) deals with a super Blight: The darkspawn have found the last two Old Gods to form the largest blight known, and everyone assumes it is the end, but Urthemiel comes later, though they'd have to retcon stuff, like how they did with Anders and Leliana.

+ civil war + the tear in the veil + whatever the else we have to deal with?

I doubt it, but its been said the game can easily last over 100 hours, so maybe?

Or here's another thought: since she essentially saved Urthemeil, could it be that the "final" game or sometime in the future the Old God comes back to challenge the Maker or Andraste is reincarnated?

I would laugh if Morrigan named the kid Aeron, because that's what I named my dog.

I'm thinking it could be the default name of the Warden.

Human Noble's child- Aedan

Human Mage's child- Daelynn

Elf Mage's child- Alim

City Elf's child- Darrien

Dalish Elf's child- Theron

Dwarf Noble's child- Duran

Dwarf Commoner's child- Faren

Alistair's child- Maric

Loghain's child- Logan

It's a huge stretch but a random thought

Well that the OGB is a he is a quick mention during Witch Hunt, so that could be retconned in some way if they were to make it the main character of a game sometimes in the future. He could also "Merely" be a main character in a David Gaider book or something.

And I suppose they could make a joke about him being named after his father, if that's the case.

If OGB became playable I am sure they could simply handwave Morrigan calling the OGB a "him" to just giving your Warden what commonly has been rumoured around. I think the OGB is still open to being either gender and the son thing is just that a thing, something that could be to spread misinformation around.

But if the OGB were to stay an NPC then that would officially make the OGB a male. In that case I do hope for the people that did it would get an extra companion to use in a future DA game. I believe with the Keep Bioware can reward us for making certain choices, but the reward for the other choice would have to be just as rewarding or feel equal so the other choice doesnt feel like you cut yourself. If the OGB became an extra companion maybe you could choose what class he is lol.

I would name my OGB Cid, because heck maybe he would be able to turn into a Dragon one day and fly me around :D
