What if she named him Conobar or Osen just like in Flemeth's story? Maybe out of spite, maybe out of sentimentality, who knows for sure.
Morrigan's child. (This isn't an OGB = Inquisitor thread, don't worry.)

oooh, that'd be swell. Bit of sentimentality, bit of spite, leaves the father open for worldstate differences. Very Morrigan. I like it.

Really I think the OGB will be named after it's father and will have the ability powers and memories of the archdemon before it was tainted. Maybe this kid can communicate with the other archdemons or understand how eluvians work. After the years of training morrigan and the male warden if alive passes down to the baby he will have to defend himself against flemeth's plan

If OGB became playable I am sure they could simply handwave Morrigan calling the OGB a "him" to just giving your Warden what commonly has been rumoured around. I think the OGB is still open to being either gender and the son thing is just that a thing, something that could be to spread misinformation around.
But if the OGB were to stay an NPC then that would officially make the OGB a male. In that case I do hope for the people that did it would get an extra companion to use in a future DA game. I believe with the Keep Bioware can reward us for making certain choices, but the reward for the other choice would have to be just as rewarding or feel equal so the other choice doesnt feel like you cut yourself. If the OGB became an extra companion maybe you could choose what class he is lol.
I would name my OGB Cid, because heck maybe he would be able to turn into a Dragon one day and fly me around

I think that if the OGB ever becomes playable(which I don't think will happen) it will be in the context of a DLC that could be presented as a "what if?" scenario for those who didn't perform the ritual and canon for those who did, and that his gender would remain set.
It's not like we could change Leliana's gender in Leliana's Song.

This is exactly what i think they'd do, if they were going that route

Oh I meant playable as in a whole game lol. If it was a side DLC, and what if dlc for people who didnt do the Dark Ritual than you would be right lol.
I personally think the OGB should have become canon so something cool can be done with that and Bioware could say thats why you played as your Warden in Awakening ![]()

Well Morrigan does kind of sound like Morgause from the King Arthur's legend. On some version she has a son called Mordred, so that could be the default name. I dunno. Maybe an inmersion breaker could do too.
"Hi, I'm Gaider, the son of Morrigan. Kneel before my fourth wall breaking abylities!"

Knowing her, she'll probably name him Flemeth Killa.

He'll be mostly irrelevant and do maybe one thing that a different NPC will do for players who don't have him `~`

While I've done the Dark Ritual far more often than I haven't, and I agree that it offers much greater story potential than not doing it, I don't think it should be imposed on anyone who didn't do it.
Also, I knew that's what you meant. My point is that isn't going to happen.

I don't think Morrigan would name him after his father. Morrigan doesn't seem like the sentimental type.

Morrigan is named after a Goddes from Irish mythology, so what about a classic celtic/norse name for the OGB?
Something like Belenos, Aeron, Taliesin, Lugh, Tanaris, Esus, Tyr....
...Thor, Loki, Odin... (ewww, no D:)
I sort of like Aeron, Belenos and Taliesin.

I agree, make it canon either the Warden does it or some other Warden in Orlais does it.

Has it been announced if Morrigans son would play a role in DAI? I just assumed he would appear in another game much later.

I think it would make sense for them to stick with the theme and name him after someone from Celtic mythology, but no specific name springs to mind right now.
Mordred,Chulainn,Arthur.

David Gaider once announced that the story of the OGB would be more than just mentioned or something I think.

I think it's a safe assumption, given Morrigan's role in Inquisition.

Furthermore, i doubt Morrigan would trust anyone else with her child, so he'll probably be close to where she is.

So i'm not sure if this has ever been discussed, but i was just thinking about Morrigan and her child. If you did the dark ritual, and the child exists, what do you think his name will be?
Since Morrigan's child will contain the soul of an old god, I suspect that she will call him by his original name.
My questions would be:
(1) Does her child contain the soul (essence) of one of the dragon gods?
(2) Will the birth of her child trigger the beginning of another blight?
(3) Or, will the child be used to defeat Flemeth?
Remember, Flemeth was grooming Morrigan, so she could jump into her body.
During the events in "Dragon Age II", Flemeth talked about an up and comming war. She cheated death to buy some time, so that she can prepare for her confrontation with Morrigan. Flemeth hinted that she knew about Morrigan's child. Read between the lines mentality.
Just speculating.
Question: What does OGB mean?
