Has it been announced if Morrigans son would play a role in DAI? I just assumed he would appear in another game much later.
I suppose that would depend on your definition of "play a role"; supposedly his existence will be addressed with more than just an off handed mention, and whether or not the son exists, and likely the circumstances of his birth and her relationship to his father will have an impact on Morrigan's character development.

Since Morrigan's child will contain the soul of an old god, I suspect that she will call him by his original name.
My questions would be:
(1) Does her child contain the soul (essence) of one of the dragon gods?
(2) Will the birth of her child trigger the beginning of another blight?
(3) Or, will the child be used to defeat Flemeth?
Remember, Flemeth was grooming Morrigan, so she could jump into her body.
During the events in "Dragon Age II", Flemeth talked about an up and comming war. She cheated death to buy some time, so that she can prepare for her confrontation with Morrigan. Flemeth hinted that she knew about Morrigan's child. Read between the lines mentality.

Question: What does OGB mean?
What lines in DA2 hints Flemeth knows of the child? How could she know? Also, OGB=Old God Baby, Morrigan's son's nickname.

If you reflect on the gap between "Dragon Age: Origins" and "Dragon Age: Inquisition", the currently missing years opens the door to speculation and questions. Could Flemeth have succeeded in taking over Morrigan's body? We do not know.

Which, again, has nothing to do with the topic at hand beyond any differences in naming preferences Morrigan and Flemeth might have.
If Flemeth raises the kid, that would suck because it would come out an evil mofo or another dangerous wild card. But why would Flemeth need to take over Morrigans body if she still is alive and well?
