Looked up Benign Neoplasm an no longer wish for a romance with Miranda in my upcoming trilogy playthrough. So, any romance suggestions, pros & cons of each. I'm not into alien chicks but considering how my romance options are limited I'm accepting applications or recommendations.

Jack has probably the best romance scenes of any of the female characters. Just be sure you have the Citadel DLC.
Tali's romance flows seemlessly from ME2 to ME3 and she seems to have more romance related dialogue on missions than other characters. Sroka does an excellent acting job.
Liara has more content that anyone if you include LotSB.
I found Ashley's romance in ME1 to be somewhat lacking for my taste, but I am sure others like her just fine. I have never romanced her in ME3, but I hear a number of people are upset that she was not treated better by the writers.

The benign neoplasm bothered you that much, though?

Tali got the best romance and has the best scenes in me3. In my opinion.

Miranda. She's the only romance option that feels 'real' in my opinion. I have massive posts for why I support her over anyone else that I can link.
Two things; pretty low to define a woman by a physical affliction and also, it's Miranda Lawson. Do you really believe that something like this is going to prevent her from having a child if she chooses? She brought a man back from death. She can easily fix any physical ailment.

@Massively I too feel as though Miranda's relationship is the only one that's 'real' during my first trilogy playthrough but after reading more about it makes it a turn off to me despite her personality and attractiveness. I cant get over it. Unless she can get rid of it I lost interests in her. I'm still looking around but If I find no replacement then no romance for me.
P.S. How do I quote or respond to specific posts?

I prefer LIara. That relationship just works better for the trilogy story line considering all that Liara goes through to resurrect Shepard. If you don't like the blue and beautiful, and assuming you are playing a male Shepard, I would suggest romancing Ashley in ME1 (not that there are a whole lot o choices there), Have a blow up on Horizon and switch to Jack in ME2, and flip a coin for sticking with Jack or going back to Ash in ME3. For a female Shepard, I go with Liara or go solo in ME1. My female Shep would rather go without than lay with Kaiden. Noooo spank you! In ME2, Jacob or Kelly are your choices. ME3... not sure. Haven't played a female shep in ME3.

On-topic... there's no accounting for taste, but I am all about Jack -- partner and romance both are just about ideal for me.

ME2, Jacob or Kelly are your choices.
You are talking about Fem Shep right..? You're forgetting Thane and Garrus.
Jacob is awful considering his personality is flatter than an ironing board and he then manages to impregnate another woman in ME3 regardless of your romance.
Don't know alot about Kellymance. Never been into the idea of romancing someone who isn't a squad mate cause those characters don't have nearly as much screen time. But she seems really cute, and I do know she can dance for you in a body suit in your cabin quarters which is.. pretty nice haha.
A Garrus romance for 2/3 is absolutely amazing. Idc if you're a straight guy, if youre looking for a romance for FemShep you have to do Garrus. You just have to.
Thane romance is ...sad. For obvious reasons. Atleast the romance gets a very touching closure in Citadel.

Jacob gives ample warning of not being a good boyfriend though:
'Miranda, she deserves a better man than me'
That's what you women get for trying to change a man

That guy's a bit of a dbag in general. If you flirt with him but then tell him you don't want anything because you've decided to be serious about Garrus, he gets all pouty and says, "That cuttlebone?", and then remains utterly cold with you afterwards. Such manly gentleman. A+. Brownie points for using borderline racial slurs.

Why is everybody holding that against him? If anything, I respect the guy for it. He had the guts to dump freakin' Shepard! That's like major case of steel balls.
And considering, more likely than not, Shepard cheated on Liara or Kaidan with Jacob, it's kinda karmic to see her get a taste of her own medicine. So yeah, Jacob actually gets a plus for what he did, far as I'm concerned.
On topic... I don't you don't like her OP, but I still think Liara is the best romance. But then, she is the type I go for and she is the hottest babe in all MEU(once again, personal opinion), so the choice is not really that hard.

I know OP said he's not into aliens, but my honest opinion is that all the Alien romance options are far superior to human ones in this game.
For a trilogy playthrough, obviously Garrus (for female), Tali (for male) or Liara (both genders) are the top 3 options, since they offer most interactions, both romance specific or not; they are all fiercely loyal to you; and their relationships with Shepard have the best build up, development and conclusion IMO. These 3 overall offer the most satisfying experience throughout 3 games.

What's to respect? He didn't go ahead and break up with Shepard directly or anything. He simply went off and got someone else knocked up while Shepard was on Earth. While I wouldn't really hold it against him, since he didn't think he was ever going to see Shepard again (he even says as much), it doesn't take any kind of courage to simply move on to the next person should the other one be out of contact, presumably long-term.
If anything, that's what Shepard gets for slumming it with the likes of Jacob in the first place ![]()

Maybe I'm missing something since I've never fully romanced Jacob, but I'm not aware there was actually a formal breakup, and I think the general consensus is that it's not particularly classy to have a relationship with someone, and just because that someone gets detained for six months, you get to disappear and knock up someone else. In real life, someone in Shepard's position would be devastated/heart-broken, whereas the Jacob just gets what he wants because he's childish/selfish by not having restraint and considering Shepard's feelings.

Agreed!
People complain about Ash becoming rather..basic, by ME3. People seem to really like Kelly Chambers (ME2) and Samantha Traynor (ME3), but they're not squad mates which I feel makes it less..fulfilling. For some I can imagine 'alien romance' is an acquired taste...but it's super rewarding! Heck its a sci fi game, why not

That's a viable way to look at it as well
And yeah, a formal breakup would be nice, but I guess it was not be.
Still, it's nice to see something different. Yeah, the dude is being portrayed as typical dbag(and I take more issues with that than him actually dumping Shep), but I actually laughed when I heard what happened. Never saw it personally, since I never romanced him and I can see why people who did that would be kinda pissed about it. But to me, it was more amusing than anything.

I concede to your point. But as mentioned, I personally never experienced it, so it was more of a "a friend of a friend told me" and that amused me. If I actually took time for him, I imagine I wouldn't take it so lightheartedly.
And I'll state it again. I take more issues with how Jacob was portrayed than with him actually dumping Shepard. That and I actually was a little creeped out with how Shepard and Jacob interact. Shep seems kinda... desperate. I didn't much care for that.

Yep, you basically read my mind. Being a squadmate is a huge factor IMO, both from story perspective and role play perspective. And romancing aliens, at least in my case, is definitely acquired but super rewarding in the end. When I started my first playthrough with a Femshep, I was honestly not going to romance her with an alien because they all look very weird to me, but once I started the game those aliens grew on me tremendously. Romancing Garrus and only Garrus changed from a weird idea to a perfect idea. After that I had a male shepard and Liara exclusive playthrough, and then a male shepard and Tali exclusive playthrough, all three playthroughs ended being perfect largely because I feel I romanced the right aliens.

The way Shepard talked to Jacob made me avoid him most of the time. Shepard only speaks to him when there's serious business to attend to. It's when the dynamic is no-nonsense that I find it at all satisfying, and Jacob comes off as a better character. I did like his [non-romance] content in the Citadel DLC, brief as it was.
As for the alien romances, they're generally more fulfilling because they get the most content across the series. Of the cast that was with Shepard since the beginning, the VS gets the short end of the stick, despite being in the same boat as Liara being pushed out of the Normandy for an entire game. I kind of wish that Kaidan or Ashley had their own story that Shepard could be a part of in ME2 like Liara did, but I guess popularity, or lack thereof, may have dictated this.

I would have loved a shadow broker-like DLC for Ash/Kaidan and an opportunity to better work out all the crap that happened on horizon before ME3 even started. I mean, shep tells them that the collectors are working for the reapers and we all get is "Lalalalalala Cerberus lalalallala." from them.
