I kinda wish Jessie was a more unique gun, and its replacement was some kind of plot gift.

@ Excella Gionne I don't need **** from a wanna be loser that's in love with a fictional character.
And you're the one who's asking about "Romances"! It's better to be enthusiastic and optimistic about something than being boring and flat person about the subject.

It is kind of ironic how this thread turned out, despite it starting off with a hangup over an outwardly undetectable and incommunicable condition on a fictional character.

We got into the heat of an argument. It's very tempting...and I believe we all know which post started the whole charade....

"Jesus, you like David Lynch movies! See ya!"
Fine, fine, lets stay together.
But Uwe Boll is where I draw the line, dammit!

Some other changes are noticeable as well: For instance, after the Normandy is locked down and Shepard is slumping over the locker, there's no one to pick up our hero's spirits. The character is just kinda sitting there until Joker comes through on the radio. I don't see any reason why you couldn't have had a Platonic buddy show up during these kinds of moments, but there you go.
I'd have liked to see more platonic friendship content too (though ME3 did seem to move in the right direction with this). For example, I feel like my canon FShep would probably be pretty good friends with Tali in ME2, but after her loyalty mission and its aftermath, she becomes just as obsessed with "cleaning up the engine" as Garrus is with his "calibrations." I also found it a little disheartening that Thane starts calling her "Siha" even after I avoided the romantic dialogue - it made it seem like Thane was harboring unspoken feelings for Shepard that she somehow just never noticed, which wasn't what I was intending for either of them.

do no romance, makes playing through slightly shorter, and therefor slightly more bearable

And make sure you don't romance Liara, unless you're into shallow characters

I can slightly relate to the OP's thoughts about women and love, seeing as I have my own list of dealbreakers, namely, my thing with tattoo's. Still, I like to think it's a bit different considering that I generally don't have a problem with a person who has a disease unless it's particularly debilitating or deforming, whereas tattoo's are more of a choice based thing. I don't even have a problem with people who have them or like them, just that I find them so unattractive as for them to be a complete turn-off. It's killed prospective relationships for me in the past, and I've even left a girl in bed when I found she had one. However, I would suggest the OP watch a good movie called 'She's Outta My League' with Alice Eve and Jay Baruchel to address his issues.

I like tattoo's. I have them on my arms and legs. They make for good converations. Where ever I go I ususally ask folks about their tattoo's. Some of the stories I've heard are really cool. The tattoo's I have are related to the time I was in the military.

@MassivelyEffective0730 I'll take a look at it. Atm I'm doing the Sociology of Women course for school. So far I am truly conflicted about the opposite sex based upon personal experiences & bias of how women "should" be. My perspective on women are not related towards my parents but are solely my own. I raised myself an because I didn't raise myself as a "man," "feminine man," or "male chauvinist" makes relationships with women & others difficult for me. Hence why I resort to forums for "opinions" or thoughts. I still apologize for my obnoxious behavior. Just been moody because of rl situations & crisis.

Ah well, still young - don't sweat it. You are still exploring life and have a whole load of experiences ahead of you. I wouldn't worry about making up your mind about what you want or perceive as attractive in a woman (or man) -hwta you want and desire will change as you get older.
I am a completely different person at 34 as I was at 19. Made my fair share of mistakes, missed oppurtunities, escaped death and a whole load of other things that has made me who I am today.
Don't over think it or worry; things will just come naturally.
Edit to add: I also come from a broken home, but don't let that be a hindrance or a crutch to rely on. You make yourself into your own person.

I tend to always romance Ash. I've liked her character going all the way back to Mass Effect 1 and while I wasn't a fan of how they retconned her in Mass Effect 3 and cut out alot of her content, her romance is one of the best. Her and Shepard's relationship is simple yet very complex which makes it more realistic. No real relationship is ever as perfect as you want them to be and thats something I like the best about Ashley's romance is that shes someone I kind of have to fight to get back. The only downside is that it lacks content in the main game but its actually alot more well rounded if you have Leviathan and the Citadel DLC.

My main Shepard's heart beats bright Asari blue through out the trilogy, but on other play throughs I find Ashley/Jack/then back to Ashley works for a good story. With the Citadel DLC, sticking with jacks is also good. Have romanced Miranda and even Tali a few times, but never really get into it.
