I would also like that.
But not in every LI.  It would be kind of cool to have, like you said; chantry followers like Cullen and Cassandra wanting that possible Before you have sex but if there were a system like in DA:O where you could harden them or like in DAII with a rivalmance in which you could have sex with them first - so that your choices decides which way the romance would go.

And it would be nice with a more Quick "not so serious" romance like with Zevran or Isabella where you actually could just have sex and then leave it if that's all you want.

I really hope the LI's will be a bit more graceful about rejection though, so that if you don't want to romance any LI or just not that one that shows interest in you we don't get an Anders situation again. Especially when you played as a man. (I get it Bioware, you support the gay community, great! But does that mean that every man has to throw themselfs at me and then get mad when my male Hawke don't feel the same? I don't think it works like that..)

It would be cool if a character would fall for you no matter what, I don't mind the drama. But maybe with a bit more grace and tact.

It works exactly like this if someone like you and you reject then,  They like you less or sometimes even hate.

as annoyng as it sound, is true. I was never insulted so much as when I refused (gently) a girl because I'm straight (and I was at a concert with my boyfriend that time. so, I had refused her advances because I was already in a relationship too, not only because of my sexual preferences).

Not everyone have the maturity to simply accept a no.

Gays sure are immature.

Not like heterosexuals. They always behave perfectly rationally when faced with the sting of rejection.

I don't even know how I manage to offend you. By doing nothing.

I don't know gay persons in general. surely that girl was immature. guys I have rejected, and myself didn't insult the other person. (hey, I cryed too one time for a rejection. But I never insulted that person.)

I think that should depend on the rejection. If you have flirted with the LI and stuff yes. But with Anders...even if you've never flirted with him there will be a point when you have to answer with flirt or the breakup Icon and he gets pissed off.

I've had people I was interested in that did not feel the same for me but I have never been angry or cruel to them since it's not their fault that I developed feelings for them.

But if you flirt around and then diss them, then I would expect Cullen (for example) to be pissed :P

Only if you choose diplomatic responses, I believe. Wait a bit... Yep. I just checked: he only goes there if you're essentially nice to him, "You can tell me anything" and all that. I personally never got that branch of dialogue since my Hawke is a smart... guy.

Can't argue it's not realistic. There are people who think niceness = LET'S BANG OKAY.

<snip>

This.

Also I'd like to see romances/rivalmances that actually affect the plot.  This is much harder for the writers to do, the only one that comes to mind is the Morrigan/maleWarden or Morrigan/Alistair/femWarden relationship(s).  But at the least, a nasty betrayal of certain people should complicate the plot, perhaps by them switching sides... like Zevran usually did in my games, but that was only a small side plot.

Truth be told, I doubt I would say to a complete stranger they can tell me anything unless I was hitting on them.

If you're attracted to them yes. A lot of the times when Morrigan was nice to my warden I assumed she might be flirting. While I do agree that every character shouldn't be bi, and that it's kind of ridiculous to have a lot of characters just outright be angry if you're not interested in them, I don't think that one is evidence for the other.

I would love my character to marry their LI. Especially if it can be done before the sex scene.

Sounds good to me. Might be only for some LIs and not others though.

Glad others like the idea. ^_^

How about the option exists for every LI? That way those who want it can and those who don't won't have to.

Yeah, like I said. Either have the more obvious ones wanting/demanding that or have a system with harden or rivalmance.
I prefer the second option, that say I choose a path that might have Cullen question alot of what he has been thaught  for example.

Or a playthrough where you follow what he believes and gets married.

I would like the option to get married in the end of the game as well, even if you did have sex first ;P

And that this system goes for every LI. I would want Varric as an LI...and my guess would be that he might not be the marrying type - but that you with your choices in the game could possible change his mind. As with Cullen but the other way around :P

I hope I make sense, I should really be asleep by now but stupid nausea from migrainpills is keeping me up..

Bioware does an ok job when it comes to romances, they just need to add a bit more meat on them bones (optional dialogue, interjections, etc).  Also, why does the PC have to be the one to pursue a romance?  maybe if the Inquisitor is the correct race/gender and make appealing choices then maybe one or more of the npc's will pursue the PC or be more aggressive in the courting.

I want my Wardens to marry their LIs, Morrigan and Leliana. Hopefully  that is incorporated in DA:I.

Like in origins? It was only da2 where the protagonist had to do all the flirting to kick start a romance. The warden just had to flirt back in many instances.

As much as it'd kill my warden, Morrigan and Leliana getting together would be awesome... and even hilarious.

Anders and Fenris flirt with you first, though arguably Fenris is more subtle about it.

I don't know that that means much, tho. Clearly she doesn't conflate sex and love, she's just being friendly. Hawke does have to do the heavy lifting with regards to non-platonic feelings there.

That's not how you ask someone to have a drink with you. If I rang a mate and asked if he'd like some... company later, it would not end in a friendly drink.

For Isabela, inappropriately loud sex in a thin-walled inn is a friendly drink. Thus the 'does not conflate sex and love' part of my sentence.
