depends on PT and/or the script.
i felt awkward playing gramps who was older than his "father". i was trying to RP cohen the barbarian. to make matters worse this young, beautiful lass tells me she's going to be my wife.
or a mage with gray hair passing her harrowing and being hit on by some 20-ish templar boy... come on!
I always picture mage warden to be younger than the others, I don't see them having their harrowing later than 16-18 and Irving calls them "child" (although my 91 years old grandma calls everyone child too, I guess it's perspective).
It's hard to picture an older warden, given the story. A cousland can't be older than 25, dalish wardens are called "child" too, city elves get married early so they must be 17-25, Rica is the casteless dwarf's older sister and she looks young so you're in the 18-25 zone again. Dwarf nobles could be older, I guess, but that's just them. Given you don't know the story and older complexions are allowed in the CC, it's easy to come up with screwed up character/setting combinations. Same for Hawke, the complexion can get you as far as 70, but you'll look like Leandra's grandpa.
Back on topic, my inquisitor will be anywhere in the 24-35 zone.

that's my point... well, one of them. story puts constraints on warden's age. it can do the same for inquisitor. deciding on his/her age at this point is useless :3
not to complain about not being able to RP whomever i wish

35 seems a good age to me. Old enough to be seasoned and have a firm mastery of their discipline, but still relatively young.

I'm currently imagining the dwarf Inquisitor I plan to play first as around twenty-five. She's been an adult for a few years, but she's still rather ridiculously young to be in charge of the Inquisition. (If the game allows it, her attitude to this whole thing is going to be "you want to put me in charge of the what now? Are you humans crazy?")
As for characters I play after that, I'll wait and see what the game provides.

I like the inquisistor to be my age, but I don't see that happening.
I will say the inquisitor will be late 20's to early 30's
Why not? Are you ridiculously young or super old?

Why not? Are you ridiculously young or super old?
No. Do you see the Inquisitor being 50 or older?

I think I will have my human character be around the same age as my Warden. So around 36.

I want my Qunari to be in her very early 20's and my dwarf to be in her mid thirties.

My ruthless human noble bastard Inquisitor will be 36-38 year old I think. I like my pcs every once and awhile little seasoned plus my Hawke and Human Noble Warden were already quite young for the sake of the plot.
I like to think my Inquisitor was a student from Soldier Academy in Orlais and he was supposed to become chevalier commander anyways someday so leading the Inquisition is pretty natural task for him. Leading troops is something he was trained for. Hope the Backround options in the CC will allow something like this. ![]()

So long as you aren't a crazy old person or a flipping child, you're never really judged on your age.

No, I want one to be 2 years old and running around as terrible twos. While the other is 120, with a walkie. Both wearing diapers as well.

What?
Really, I'm not sure I can pick out an age in pixels, and really don't care to.

There was a line in a book called the Pawns of Null-A that I remember very well and struck a chord with me.
It was about how people would never taken a child or young person seriously enough to save the universe - no matter how capable they were.
It's scarily true. We associate (and I'm generalising the human race obviously) ability with age. Too young and we disregard them, too old and we disregard them.
To my knowledge no game has ever attempted to use age as a reactionary thing, it would certainly be interesting if it was attempted in a role playing game.
I doubt we'll see it beyond complexion in DAI - but it would be a great thing to explore down the track.
