Ahh, yes those arrows where really unecessary, but I can't remember seeing any X markers when hitting an enemy (on PC, maybe this is a console thing).
If I did, then I probably headcanoned that it is part of the helmet's/visor's HUD, just like the stupid enemy outline-boxes.

The X markers where for were your next location was at the time.

I enjoyed the game especially with the amount of playthroughs I've done. If you want to know how many, just look on my profile. I will post later giving specifics of what I really enjoyed, but my lady friend has breakfast ready and I'm hungry. Later.

Things that I enjoyed.

Romancing Samantha. Its the only romance that I've done with my femshep

Being able to ignore all characters except for one.

Having the choice of curing or sabotaging the genophage no matter who's in charge

The ability to fill the memorial wall with names and still get the best ending. Excellent. My favorite part of the trilogy.

A low ems run and seeing both squadmates killed. That is what should happen even with high ems instead of the what-the-crap evacuation scene

The destroy ending.

Watching TIM kill Anderson

In the Citadel dlc and talking with Miranda in the apartment and being dressed up at the casino. My femshep considers her to be a sister

Hearing the Cerberus troopers yelling TAKING CASUALTIES. It never gets old

Having the abilty to make peace between the Geth and Quarians and not do it

Steve Cortez. I like him. A very good character and very good at his job

Javik's dialogue on Thessia in the Temple

I like how much content there is in ME3 on subsequent play-throughs where you pick different options. A couple of moments that stand out from different parts of the game that I only discovered on a second or third run:
  • Mordin's blowup at the Shroud: I MADE A MISTAKE!
  • This little nugget from Shepard to Legion on the Geth Server mission on my last run: The Council is useless, the Krogan almost didn't fight, the Quarians started a war.... How the hell do we defeat the Reapers if everyone is exploiting this situation! How much damage could this stunt of yours have done if it failed? Don't even answer!
  • Jason Prangley
  • Paddock Wiks
  • Urdnot Wreave
  • A lot of the companions' dialog (especially EDI And Javik) on the missions
Also, I liked the parallels between the resolutions of the Genophage and Rannoch arcs, and the final choice in the Decision Chamber.

1. The combat is fabulous and it's the one thing that keep me coming back for more. The combat in the Omega DLC is brilliant.

2. I had a crew where everyone was useful for the first time since ME1. Too many ME2 squad mates were utterly redundant, Bioware could easily have merged many of them together and not lost anything in the process.

3. Squadmates actually talked during DLC

4. Much better focus on the main plot, actually, there actually being a plot in the first place is an improvement from the previous game.

5. An attempt by Bioware to make every quest, no matter how minor, relate in some way to the overarching plot. Finding those dog tags and Charr's recording may seem insignificant, but it added something to the overarching story. The Reaper War affected everyone.

6. Those background conversations on the Citadel you can ease drop in on. Like the above they seem insignificant, but they did add something.

My very same thoughts on the events of ME3.

Khalisah Al-Jilani saying, "I'm glad you're on our side."

Jack at Grissom Academy.

Grunt on Utukku.

Curing the genophage -- Mordin  :crying:

The geth consensus.

Garrus as shep's bro.

Conrad Verner -- I actually missed him completely the first time I played through.

EDI's evolution.

Ken and Gabby.

Thane's passing -- Not because I dislike Thane, but that his sacrifice made me like him.

All the goodbyes in London. Seemed like for about an hour everyone had been saying, "this is it." ...and that's when it hit home for me.

Biotic explosions. Tech explosions. Fire explosions. Heck, explosions. And headshots.

The new squadmates -- Traynor, Vega, Cortez.

That Dr. Michel could be the Normandy medic -- it's about time.

Javik, and that the protheans weren't like Liara said they'd be at all.

Citadel DLC -- awesomeness to the nth degree.

I liked how some of the missions spiced up the combat. Like shooting Cerberus guys on top of an elevator shaft or shooting in the middle of a sandstorm where you can barely see your enemies. Can't think of other examples at this moment, but I loved how there were alot more different scenarios going on that involved more than a standard 'take-cover and shoot' scene.

If by "carried" you mean it allowed for a prolonged time of mindless fun with playing the game, then sure, it did. I played a bit of multiplayer myself (with an attitude to it which I described above) before selling my copy of "ME3" to some other poor bastard.

If you play on Bronze of course it's mindless. Did you also go through ME3 on Narrative difficulty?

I enjoyed the MP, and the  combat system.

I also enjoyed when the credits rolled and it was over. Well in theory I was happy that I was done with the shitshow of a game, but I guess I also wasnt that happy because it was so bad

That is amazing. Reserving this for a 'like' later.

1. The combat system was definitely the best it's ever been in an ME game. The weight and weapon attachment mechanics worked pretty nicely as well, I thought.

2. Multiplayer was actually a lot of fun, way more so than I expected. I've actually spend significantly more time in multiplayer than I ever did in the single player campaign, something I never would have guessed when the game came out.

3. Tuchanka, in all of its permutations, was a great mission and a very fitting way to wrap up the arc of Mordin Solus, the series' most fully realized character.

4. Renegade decisions were generally handled better IMO; for the most part, they were less of the 'crazed psychopath' variety and more clearly motivated by considerations like expediency. The reputation system is much better in ME3 than it was in the previous games. Still, there's inevitably some damage from the previous games that bleeds over into ME3, since a decent amount of what you can do in ME3 is constrained by whether or not you were able to make various paragon/renegade checks in the previous game.

Improved combat, back with the alliance, reapers finally arrive, fleet arrives through the sol relay to confront the reapers, got to shoot Udina, all the dlc, fun multiplayer, improved armor and weapon customization, huge epic moments, genophage arc, Rannoch arc, final goodbyes with everybody at the FOB in London, and conclusions to all of the characters little arcs.  ME 3 was awesome the negativity directed at it on this forum is not deserved.

It's hard to decide what part of this picture is my favorite. Drunk Tali and saluting Garrus are really neck and neck here.

The low ems possibility with liara getting killed. Add that with the destruction of thessia an I'm satisfied.

Should add EDI wiping her forehead and saying, "phew!"

No, actually I played through it on Normal. With MP, I used to play it mostly on silver, with occasional runs on bronze and gold. No matter how much you need to think or plan with MP due to difficulty, it's still just shooting for the sake of shooting which isn't my thing and that's what I meant by "mindless". Maybe "mindless" is unkind, maybe "immersion-less" works better.

Gotcha. The harder MP levels definitely take tactics and teamwork, which is why I was confused. Immersion-less I can understand since it's just a horde mode, although I did feel playing MP alongside my first SP run added to the experience.

I like ME1 combat as well! It's brilliant.

Also, don't you mean Uncle Owen?
