I'm never upset when I see a kroguard show up in a geth gold lobby. It's like a juggernaut that can kill things (in the hands of a pug... IA side note: I don't see why people have any difficulty killing things with juggs...)

My pug Jug recipe is any weapon with good accuracy and lots of clips, incendiary ammo, extra shields, and lots of Siege Pulse. Is that the standard non-melee formula?

OP, you need more guns .. stop buying Vet packs and start buying the 99k packs. You have a large build up of consumables to use. And you do not have to worry about running out of missiles anytime soon ...

A major misconception I see frequently on this forum, is people telling newer players to buy Vet packs until their uncommons are maxed out. All the really good stuff is in the 99k packs. You need to roll several Recruit & Vet packs early to build up some in game consumables to use, then save and buy the 99k packs to start getting the good stuff.

You are well past the point of building up your consumables .. time to go for the good stuff

Human Soldier with Striker, any ammo type and one of those 255 stability consumables you never use for anything else.

Unload a clip into the spawning enemies, use Adreanline Rush to 'reload' and repeat, detonate ammo power with Concussive Shot and/or Grenades on what's left after that.

the mattock and phalanx are excellent easy to use weapons that will be more than enough to handle silver. I used them almost exclusively until I got some of my rares up to 10

Thanks. Kinda felt like I was wasting my time with vet packs for the last few dozen games. One thing that is strange is that I rarely get uncommon weapon mods. Rarity of items seems to be characters, gear, weapons and then mods.

I've tired the mattock but have preferred the raptor. Maybe because I have almost maxed it? Of the mods I have for AR what should I use for the mattock?

Usually people just go for extended barrel + magzine upgrade + AP ammo for most of the ARs.

If you don't have many AP ammos, then just go for magzine upgrade + piercing mod.

Don't have the piercing mod yet. Been having a hard time unlocking uncommon weapon mods. I have been using dampener and extended barrel. Only got the barrel recently. Before that I used a scope.

Thanks, by the way.

Raptor is about as good as Mattock so use that if it's what you prefer. It's effective all the way through Silver. I think it works well on the Shadow.

The uncommon mods and gear items hardly ever fall from Veteran packs, you'll get them mostly in Spectre packs. Go by the weapons. Recruit packs till the common weapons max out, Veteran packs till the uncommon weapons max out, spectre packs or higher after that.

I would suggest trying Asari Adept 6-6-6-5-3. Stasis go for reload speed and bubble. Passives all weapon damage and headshot damage at evolution 5 (or alternatively 6-6-6-4-4. Use Eviscerator (heavy barrel) with AP or drill ammo.

Your biggest trouble in general is staying alive. Stasis is amazing power in this regard, since what kills your is usually mook with gun, not a boss. For all mooks and semi-bosses you simply stasis-aim-headshot=profit. Including phantoms and collector captains. Against bosses you warp-shoot-throw for powerful biotic explosions. Do not forget to use soft cover.

Look for dragoons - stasis does not work against them, so warp-shoot-throw against them. Guardians not such a big problem, since they are slow - simply shoot (that's why AP or drill is preferable).

And do not try to BE mooks - BE is just too slow for that and mooks can dodge warp and throw. Stasis + headshot is much faster and safer. Bubble can catch a group of mooks (like husks, abominations) and you just headshot them methodically. Wright would be much preferable, but for silver Eviscerator will do just fine.

Last, but not least, Asari has amazing dodge. And pretty posterior :)

Of cause, it would be very useful to also have geth scanner - to always know what is behind the corner.

PS Avoid geth - they are cheating bastards. Hunter con simply walk through the stasis bubble. Bombers often ignore powers. And they STAGGER.

Asari Adept Protip: There's no hurry to kill whatever you put in Stasis. Focus on the other threats for a little while, then finish whatever you have stored in there with Throw or weapons fire. (Unless it's a Phantom, in which case it should be finished fast.)

Thanks guys for all of these tips.

Builds left to try out now are the battlemaster, collector, drell adept, and asari vanguard (so many more in this thread not sure if I can get to them all!)

Hope to try them out this weekend (last weekend was T.Sol and T.Sent weekend).

Why don't you just do what everybody else does? Join gold or platinum & expect the other players to carry you? And if they don't carry you & the mission fails, rage quit as if it's their fault.

Don't have armour pierce mod yet. Been using barrel and extended clip or dampener on ars for now. Tried the mattock on turian soldier last night. Was pretty good as long as I used ar amps.

Tried out the phaeston with the Turian Solider as suggested by some in this thread.

Wow.

I use targeting gear and, when on silver, a targeting consumable for the weapon. Pretty crazy. I'm now a convert.
