I so, so wish I could drellgod. Never been quite good enough to play as aggressively (and therefore effectively) as he demands.

 

It's been awhile since we've played, but I seem to remember you being more than "good enough" to Drellgod...

I honestly don't see Stasis get used very often on Xbox.. it's quite rare in my experience.

 

In PUGS, I completely agree. Shame that the only recognizable "power" I see get used a lot of the time (aside from Flamer/Snap Cheese/Nades) is Tactical Cloak

Recently I respecced my Assguard to take away stasis and got this build: http://kalence.drupa...!24O53384!E.9AG

 

Granted it is a Drellguard ripoff, but I don't have  that character unlocked yet and she seems to be tankier than normal Drell. Lift nades aren't too shabby either especially when combined with the double shots of the AT-12 Raider

3 points in Stasis as a "oh sheet" power to save myself or a another player from phantoms or  to neutralise A bombs

or possessed Captains.

 

Other than that I play her aggressively with bonus power charge and grenade spamming .

 

I cant imagine ever using it freeze a mook that was about to be meleed by a Krogan . Pretty stupid/wasted  use of the power .

 

As far as using stasis on 1 mook and then immediately casting on another - I do this when there are 2 or 3 phantoms approaching , a couple of engineers setting up turrets or to control a Marauder firing squad .

This, stasis is one of the least annoying powers in the game and can be very effective in the right hands

Stasis + headshot from Wraith is OSK on gold. Much faster than heavy melee, so your target is probably dead an there is nobody to connect with .

 

I love Stasis and love to cast it as fast as cool-down  allows on AA. But on AV it is just not needed - what can be put into Stasis, can be charged as well. With huge power damage bonus, shield boost and shield restore. Therefore 6-0-6-6-6 for me on AV. With Talon (with power amp).

 

Complaining when somebody is killing "your" target is stupid - go soloing if you do not like this. The mirror situation would be Stasis users complaining when somebody is killing "their" targets in bubble (kill it first with your shotgun, you stupid). The only valid sort of complains would be when somebody spams powers/weapons, seriously hindering an ability of teammates to kill. Like flamer (blinding), spamming shockwave (screen-shake), spamming overload on BE primed targets and breaking BE. Its fine if your overload scored a kill, but if all you just achieved was disrupting a deadly BE on charging Brute, then F*** is legit and well deserved response.

Maybe it gives assist points of someone else kills the stasied targets? Wouldn't know...

I still think you would kill and score a lot more by charging another spawn and killing it with nades...

The "problem" with this approach is that you're now essentially playing an inferior version of a Drellguard.

 

The way I see it, a good Assguard player will make use of the things that make Assguard different from a Drellguard, and a major part of that is using Stasis to your benefit. It's still a bit of a situational power though, I don't recommend spamming it at everything that it can affect, but it's still very useful, especially during objective waves.

 

One thing that Assguard does significantly better than a Drellguard is fighting at a range. Stasis is hitscan and has no range limit, and Lift Grenades have huge radius and are relatively easy to control, as they don't spread like Cluster Grenades do. I recommend a weapon (set) that's good from short to mid-long range instead of something like Piranha or Hurricane. I generally use Harrier on my Assguard, as it goes so well with grenade kits.

 

As a result, I find that an "idiomatic" way to play Assguard takes a small step towards a soldier from that usual charging vanguard style that Drellguards and Novaguards typically employ. That's not to say that everyone should play in the "idiomatic" way.

I have to admit it irritates me when Stasis acts as a "Shoot at me at once!" beacon. The reason is that if there are, say, three Marauders around and I put one of them in Stasis, you should be focusing on the other two still shooting, not the one that's temporarily out of the fight.

Only bugs me when it causes me to swing gracefully *through* the lummox I was about to land a Krogan heavy melee on.

If someone kept doing it to me on purpose I'd probably spend most of the game trying to lure Dragoons, Pyros, Bombers, Banshees or whatever can't be Stasised on their head

Am I the only one who's bothered by the fact that stuff moves when it's in stasis? Guardians dropping shields, phantoms slumping down for a short nap, etc.

Well, Asari can not be inferior to anybody because beautiful posterior (unless I don't know...). I Play exclusively Asaris, (other kits just when otherwise it is impossible to complete the challenges). And she often does kill fast enough to make other teammates unhappy. Killing any faster would probably be a bit OP    

 

6-0-6-6-6 AV is hard to kill. This may be irrelevant on-host, but I can not host (fast download but slow upload). Therefore full fitness  for vanguard does make real difference. Even with full fitness I sometimes drop dead immediately after BC.

 

Of cause, sometimes I would take 6-3-6-5-6 for the change, and use Stasis occasionally.

There is a strong lack of bonus power in this thread.  Asari gambler is my favorite way to play.
