I'll post what I was told at my local Gamestop. For reasons the employees have not been told, the Inquisitor's Edition is ONLY available through the online store. My local store went ahead and pre-ordered it for me over their computer, but I had to pay for it up front and it was the same thing as if I'd pre-ordered it myself from home. Meaning, it is never going to the store shelves, and only shipping directly to customers. Having seen the size of the box from the Collector's Edition of Titanfall, I wonder if they are worried about space and logistics.
The thing that irritated me the most? Unless you pay an extra $15 for one-day shipping, the game will arrive 3-5 days AFTER release date. And even if you pay the extra $15, it may not arrive until the 8th (meaning they won't ship it until the 7th). If we weren't already pre-ordering a second regular copy for the DH, I would be royally pissed that I wouldn't be getting my game until the day after release, particularly because I'll be pre-planning and taking the 7th off work, etc. WTH kind of planning is that? The only people willing to shell out $170+ for the Inquisitor Edition are the die hard fans who will want their game as early as possible on release day.
I am not blaming anyone in particular, because I don't know who, but someone, somewhere who is obviously not themselves a gamer (probably some accountant or shipping specialist or something) royally screwed up the logistics of this edition's distribution, whether it is someone at EA, Gamestop, or both.
On a lighter note, when I walked in, the gal who manages the store saw me and said "You're here for the Inquisitor's Edition, aren't you? I KNEW you would get one!" It's like they know me.
