Got mine and it was in terrible condition with stuff broken. Promptly returned it to the store.
Anyone know what that code was for that was included?
My guess would be the 3 "Flames of the Inquisition" weapons, maybe?

*sigh* Gamestop still not giving me any tracking information and my status still says open... I even paid the one day shipping
Give them a call, especially if you used PayPal. The lines will probably be busy today, though, so be prepared to be on hold for a while.
My pleasure, kitcats. By any chance, is your graphics card a Nvidia? I ask because a new driver (344.75) was just released that mentions improved graphics for DAI. If you do have a Nvidia card, head over to their website, or if you have the GeForce Experience installed on your pc, do an update and it should be there.
I've been bouncing around the forums and one of the issues I've been seeing is that graphics card drivers aren't updated to the latest versions, so make sure yours is current.
Thanks for the info about Nvidia. I do indeed use them and just installed a clean version of the latest driver yesterday when I installed my new 970gtx card. I completely forgot to check Geforce Experience, though, so checking it showed that it no longer recognized any of my currently installed games, and there was a new driver update since yesterday. So thank you for reminding me to check.
This is really so not my day. UPS only took the game from the airport 2 hours after it arrived there, rather than quickly, so getting to me today is still iffy, depending on weather, traffic, ability to have a truck go back and forth, etc. I was still really looking forward to getting it though, until I saw those most recent photos. Now I'm regretting that I even bothered with ordering IE at all and wish I would have thought about how if it's a Gamestop/EA combo, it's bound to be trash. And I really, really needed this to get here and be great so I could immerse myself into playing so I wouldn't have to think about the fact that my cat literally just died in my arms.
Sorry, I really do appreciate talking with you this morning, MageTarot, and for a few hours, you did help me stay positive.
I'm starting to think I should just return mine to the store when it gets here. I'd rather just go digital, the flaming weapons aren't that huge of a deal to me. If the stuff is this cheaply made, I don't want it. Shame on whomever thought that this was worth $100. I'd say the box is probably worth $50 and is the main focal point of the set. Everything else is just cheap garbage that you'd find in a Happy Meal.
Surprise! It's cheap trash.
It was a bad sign when I heard rattling coming from the package when I was carrying it. Then I opened it up.
Everything was spilled out onto each other. Half of the figurines were borken.
Then I lifted up the top panel. Same story.
I can't even blame UPS. It's so poorly designed, it's impossible to close it without spilling the contents out of their slots at the same time. Seriously, the box closes like a book, and once you get it closed, everything spills back out on top of itself.
I wouldn't be so mad, but everything is cheaply made and cheesy. The coins are plastic, the figurines are trash (obviously), and the quill pen is a joke. The journal is okay, but this HARDLY qualifies for a $100 collectible. Really diasppointed.
Thanks for the heads up - I've cancelled my UK pre-order. Such a shame - was really hoping this would be a quality CE.

But seriously, I'm not sure how much of a collector you are. But in the world of video game memorabilia, $100 usually doesn't get you anything good.

No need to apologize for anything, kitcats - I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. You have my sympathies.
I know today's been a rough day but trust me when I say that things will work out. It's just that you're getting all sorts of bad news from every direction and you're not sure which way to turn. Don't make any decisions on the IE until you see the condition of it yourself.
As for the passing of your cat, I'm not sure if you've read this before but please do when you have a moment. I hope it brings you some comfort: http://rainbowbridge.com/Poem.htm

The cat probably knocked the CE off a table somewhere. Damn cats!
The entire CE was around $200 - usually you get a decent item and then a bunch of crap.

Actually (and this initially threw me when I opened mine as well), the half-moon/crescent with the spikes and the bar aren't broken.
The bar goes into the mouth of the lion figurine, and then the little holes at the ends take the nibs on the inner edges of the crescent.
The eagle, though....
Sorry you got mangled edition. I've been reading a lot about broken pieces so I was worried about mine until it arrived.
*sigh* Gamestop still not giving me any tracking information and my status still says open... I even paid the one day shipping
I'm in the same boat. Though I only got the delux edition and I definitely didn't use paypal
I'm sorry to hear (and see) that, Arkayoh. And I'm really worried about mine now
. I hope I can return the box if there is anything broken in it. I think I will open it right in the store with the clerk next to me. This thing costs 160 Euro. I don't expect items that are made out of silver but they shouldn't be broken. And actually they shouldn't be made out of cheap plastic either.
Dragon Age: Inquisition - The Inquisitor's Edition - First Thoughts (Looks like I have to be that kind of douche!)
So my Inquisitors box sits before me! This will only be concerning my thoughts on the PC edition (as it is what I ordered!)
As much as I usually cannot stand "that person" I have to say that my edition arrived in near perfect condition!
At least to say, that absolutely none of the items contained within were broken. However, the attempts made to secure the items was certainly superficial and so it is with sincere sorrow that others did, in fact, receive editions with items broken. After inspecting all the items, as of this writing, I sure as hell have found no secret compartment for use with the thief lock pick tools.
Concerning the PC edition only, here is one huge foul I am calling! What good is a steelbook case for your game discs that only houses 2 discs, when your PC version has 4 discs? WTF to all Hades and back! Did I miss simple math? Did Triforce miss simple math?
oh the confounded roopidness!
Now, I will say that even for a potential "cheaper" material, the detail in all the contained items is not cheap however. Each of the 4 map markers have that "aged/ cracked stone look", the cloth map is colorful and detailed, the lock pick tools are cool (if at the present useless! Damn it all to Hells where is that compartment!), the Inquisitiors Badge is certainly kinda cool (a more neutral term would be unique), The feather is black and the ink pot is well... well, they're both intact and included! The journal is a nice addition (all pages blank so for those inclined to make notes or doodle or whatever, there you go!) The 4 Orlesian coins are a nice touch (plastic but nicely detailed), and the biggest and most pleasant surprise is the Tarot deck, complete with a black cloth bag, the art work is the same found similar to the loading screens (seen from footage) and is simply beautiful and well done!
Now sadly two of the red trays appear to be "glued" into the box ( one top, one bottom) so I am not sure about removing them, but if they remain in place it excludes the use of the cool Inquisitor's Chest to simply hold items (so I will be acting stupid over that one for a bit!) Still, all in all, not a bad collectable! Do I "personally" think it was worth 100$ extra dollars at face value, well, no I do not. But do I feel it was worth purchasing, yes I do!
So now I am off to make sure the game loads and is playable! Off to (hopefully) lead my Inquisition (and redeem all those cool weapons and extra! Especially those Red Lyrium Reaper ones!)
Cheers! ![]()
... So at the behest of one excellent nytiger73 (at least, I presume that your post was direct at me for pix!
Here are some accompanying images to confirm that all items were received in excellent condition, and to review for oneself if they like what they see!)
It is unfortunate that some Distribution hubs are not has careful with their packages, but I can say that for those who decided to buy it (if your items are not ruined) it was not a complete waste! In fact I got confirmation that my brothers Xbox One Inqusitiors Edition arrived with no broken items; the biggest issue clearly is that Triforce certainly did not take better steps to secure those items in the box. Still, here are my images as requested!
Hope this helps a bit!

Thanks for your review. Would you be willing to post some pics? Mine won't be here for a little bit, and after reading some of the bad posts, I've been inclined to return mine and go digital, but I am still on the fence. The huge oversight is really a huge red flag for me. How in the world did they screw that up? Is the ink bottle glass? Or is it plastic? Do the figures appear to be really cheap plastic?
My girlfriend, who interestingly enough is a manager at EB Games here in Canada, brought home her Collector's Edition box last night at 2am.
She had just worked a grueling 14 hour shift and went to a lot of effort to dress up as Morrigan (yes I'm lucky) and entertain the folks in line for the midnight launch (not in the way you are thinking).
ANYWAY, she got home totally exhausted and was looking forward to finally opening her Collector's Edition... only for it to be just like the others here. The whole thing was Many pieces broken. She was justifiably upset, especially after the money she paid.
Lo and behold... she goes into work this morning and there is an email from EB Games/Gamestop head office. Apparently this happened with a LOT of CE's, and they were warning all the stores to expect angry customers and returns. Apparently they are offering a $10 voucher for the "trouble". On a broken CE that cost $200. She's not happy and is going to be sending some sternly worded emails, lol.
After reading all of the tales of IE woe, I was dreading what I would find when I got home.
UPS had come early and the box (plus an envelope with the Prima Guide from Amazon) were both here.
The top corner of the shipping box was torn and crushed. I was afraid to look.
It was almost perfect. One piece of the faux exterior straps needs to be re-glued (no big deal) and one of the icons needed to be assembled. Everything else was perfect. The lid design isn't great. Things do want to fall out of it when you open and close it. But if you are careful, its not a problem.
As for the secret compartment, it's there. The coins were laying lose, but there are spots for them in the compartment. I'm not telling where it is and I did miss it first pass. Check again.
Overall: I'm one very happy camper!!!
Meanwhile: Nvidia has released new drivers, installed. The game is loading. AND I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!! So far awesome!
:DThanks Regular Wise Guy! Yep, I was asking you for the pics! I think I'll wait until my copy arrives and see what happens. ![]()
Mine finally arrived! Was super worried after reading of the borked pieces here, but all of my pieces were intact and better quality than I was worried about. Everything was in it's slots (the coins had flown around a bit). I'm really content and have already laid it all out for display on my shelf. Yay
Time to play!
I got mine today, with everything thrown about inside, but luckily nothing broken. Honestly, though, I can't understand why whomever made the CE (Triforce?) didn't think to tape or secure the token pieces in place, at the very least. It's pretty much a miracle that the owl token wasn't in pieces, and the two smaller parts of the lion token were wedged into the side of the box. I thought I was missing one of the lockpicks, but that ended up inside the secret compartment! So yeah, I'm not going to complain to anyone, since nothing is broken, but if they were eBay sellers I'd at least want to warn others about how poorly they pack their product.
Gamestop never shipped mine and I ordered it the day they listed them. After 4 times contacting them they finally admitted they didn't have my copy (kept trying to say my financial institution wouldn't authorized payment but I called and found that was a lie), seems they oversold them. Basicly when they relisted them with the guide earlier this month seems they sold my older preorder order with no guide to someone else and over looked my order entirely, literally missed it in the system:( Ended up having to go to ebay and shell out extra cash and wont get it till Nov 26th. On top of that amazon doesn't know when they will get and ship my inquisitor edition guide (also ordered when they were first listed) and sent an email to let me know it may be delayed(reason not given but claims Ill get one and its not a backorder) and the bioware store still hasn't shipped my limited edition artbook....... REALLY BAD DAY ![]()
I am really worried about the condition my IE will be delivered in. I live in New Zealand and that is a long way to ship. I payed $332 for this and it is the first collectors edition I have ever purchased. I love the franchise as to why I made the decision to splurge but I am going to be so disappointed if it gets delivered in a horrible condition, especially since I live a 2 hour drive away from the nearest EB store and it wont be a simple matter of popping down to the store to get it sorted.

I have had the same thing happen with Amazon and my IE game guide, they haven't even given a rough estimate for the date and is lacking in all other information.
It is VERY clear that whoever put the items in the packaging didn't care one bit where things went or if they were damaged or not. The contents of my Inquisitors Edition were basically just thrown in the box. The coins were not in the holes they were meant to be, parts that were supposed to be packaged beneath the inner packaging were sitting loose in the middle of the case, and nothing was slotted into the places in the packaging where they were meant to go except for the Owl map marker. Fortunately I didn't have any broken pieces, but the lock pick set is missing a piece. For those who did receive broken contents it is clear that at the very least no thought whatsoever was given to actually putting the items in the packaging correctly. The packaging itself doesn't look like it would have been capable of holding the map markers in place anyhow. Very poorly done on Triforce/Bioware's part. As someone who usually enjoys the contents of these types of collections even though they aren't always the best quality, I have to say that I am very dissatisfied with this collection and will likely not purchase another Triforce or Bioware edition of this type.

Wow! I'd swear you were taking pictures of my order if I didn't know any better. At the time of this posting there are 117 people ahead of me trying to contact Customer Care service with Gamestop. But I wonder if we should all be trying to contact EA not Gamestop. After all, it is there garbage... I mean crap er... stuff, ya stuff.
UPDATE: So I just got done talking to Gamestop and basically they told me I can bring the stuff into one of there stores and they can give me a refund or I can try to contact the manufacture to try and get the broken pieces replaced. I told myself never again after my Darth Malgus statue was broke from the SWTOR collector's edition. I need to start listening to myself.
