Disappointed my Inquisitor's Edition for PC didn't come with everything the EB Games ad said it would (I thought it said it included Deluxe items, eh whatever). All of my items were in one piece though, which is lucky considering how many people have received broken pieces. The EA adviser I spoke to clarified that for Australia at least, the Inquisitor's Edition only included the standard PC edition of the game. I asked if an upgrade to Deluxe would be available on Origin at a later date, and the adviser said it would, but couldn't give a time frame. I'm not too annoyed over it, but I can't fathom why the physical Deluxe edition was only available in certain regions. *Shrugs* I'd rather wait for the Deluxe upgrade than go through the hassle of explaining it to a bunch of advisers until one feels sorry for me, ah well. Good luck to those who are hoping to get the Deluxe PC items.

Reading through this, i guess i was a little bit lucky. The only issue with my Inquisitor edition was that a small part of the bird token's wing had been snapped,

When i contacted GameStop via email, they let me know that it was a widespread issue and that there were three courses of action. I could keep everything and take a £20 refund; return the case and assorted cheap crap and keep the game, and have the difference in price refunded; or just send it all back and get a full refund.

I went with the first option as i didn't want the hassle of posting a box that size.

It is very unfortunate that BioWare or EA don't seem to have addressed the issue.

I returned my Inquisitor's box for a refund of the box only and GameStop collected it by courier for free if you go down the return route  :)

So, two weeks after ordering, I finally got it, and I am quit glad I read this thread beforehand so I knew to expect the worst. Like many people, some of the pieces were broken (owl and keys off their stands...to add to the amusement, they packaged the box upside down, which probably didn't help matters), and I'll be returning it for a full refund. I'll probably buy DAI in a sale at some point.

Really!?!

The woman i spoke to didn't explicitly state as such, but the impression i got was that i'd have to take care of posting it back. Darn... i'm glad i read your post before responding to their feedback request.

I asked them about this and they said they'd send a courier round at no cost to me if I wanted to return it.  Gamestop have actually been okay about trying to sort it out, except for the problem with the codes only unlocking the most basic version of the game.

Wow, reading through all of this thread made me realize I was lucky for "only" having the owl base broken. Sorry for you all guys, I know I got my pleasure spoiled a bit upon opening it all.

Being french, the retailer is not Gamestop, so they send me a free re-shipping ticket. Now that I know it may be possible to replace broken things, tho... I think I'm going to keep it and see.

So, what do we do in this case ?

I read a lot of things ; contacting Tri-Force, contacting Gamestop, contacting EA... Is there a definite path/answers, or are officials are silent as usual ?

it's a damn shame, you know. When I asked about the Flames DLC mess, no one could answer anywhere. Now this. It's like they don't want my money...

Edit ; I had a flyer with a code to redeem. On origin, it is labelled as "DA Inquisitor Registration Code". What is that ?

Contact Tri-Force.  The person you want to email is jgray@projecttriforce.com  I also contacted Gamestop (I know you said this wasn't your retailer).  All Gamestop offered was to replace mine.  Like you, I had no broken piece, just was missing one piece from the lock pick set and the side of the case has a small tear in it.  I received an email back from Tri-Force which basically said they're working on a plan to correct the issues.

Thanks for the info. Sent off an email just now asking about replacing the broken pieces. If it's possible, maybe I wont have to return everything after all.

You should get an email back within a couple of days asking for pictures of the damage.  Once you send the picture(s) he will send you a follow up thanking you for the pictures and letting you know that he will contact you directly once they have a solution.

yes really bad decision by bioware to let gamestop do the collectors edition of the game.

I received mine the day before launch..pre-loaded ready for midnight unlocking and then realised that it had come with just the normal version of the game not the deluxe edition!!..I contacted them first thing on the Friday morning [over a week ago]...still,waiting to hear back from them..i even contacted EA help and they just said to contact gamestop about it...so, I paid £129 plus extra postage for only part of the game...ridiculous!!!

im going to give them another few days.then contact trading standards about it

Bump, if anyone if interested, I just received a reply from the Community Manager Mr. Joshua Grey (not helping much but it was sure fast). Now, I don't know if I can post it here, because it has some sort of disclosure rule attached to it, but grosso modo they are aknowledging my problem and are looking into it. Better than nothing ^^

Informations about Tri Force were attached, so if you want to reach them more directly, here goes :

Yeah, I'm doing likewise once I'm a bit less busy.  Sick of hearing GS saying it's EA's responsibility and EA being impossible to contact, though I expect if I do get through to someone they'll just say it's GS's responsibility.

I'm also wondering what this Inquisitor code is for.  I naively thought it would unlock all the stuff that was advertised.  I mean at least gimme the soundtrack that was promised.

I guess I'm also a bit disappointed at the deafening silence about it.  Someone at EA and/or Bioware must surely be aware of the almighty ****-ups with the CE and you'd think it would occur to them to at least acknowledge the problems.

Yeah, really disappointed at the lack of responses... At least a sticky saying they care wouldn't be too much. I guess it's bad promo ; not handling stuff is even worst promo, tho.

As for the code, I don't know if I should just redeem it in case it disappears after a while. I'm pretty sure they intented to have specific Inquisitor content but either cancelled it or just, kind of, forget.

Gamestop sent me a whole new order. Complete with the game and the Prima Guide. I just recieved it and I havent opened it yet, but the packaging was already a LOT better. Came with tons of bubble wrap and air packets. I was not expecting it, since Triforce told me they would get back to me before doing anything.

You guys should give up on it. Should have just returned the thing to Gamestop, like. Might be too late now.

Oh for Goodness sakes, come on. I opened what I'm guessing is 'replacement' for my other Inquisitor's Edition, and still things came broken.

Time to email Triforce again. I think I just want my money back....

I'm sitting here with two broken Inquisitor's Editions wondering when the nightmare of having to call Gamestop for 50 minutes will end.

One of my lockpicks and one of my griffin's wings were broken off upon arrival, with crap loose and rattling all around inside the box. I will never order anything collectible from Gamestop ever again. I've put off contacting them because I know it will be a headache but I know I must or I will lose the chance soon.

Just disgusted with the whole thing I really don't have the words to express it. So much about DAI has disappointed me, and this is just one more thing to add to the pile. <_< :pinched:

Another Update. Neither Gamestop nor Triforce know why I got this Inquisitor's Edition delivered to me but they both said to enjoy it and wait for the *actual* replacement. Uhhhh. Okay! Not complaining.

I just got off the phone with GameStop. After delaying the answer to my support ticket numerous times (I still have not received an answer) since 22/11, I immediately got to speak with a customer service agent on the phone.

In general, she was very friendly, giving me the three options which where mentioned here before regarding the broken content. I chose the 20£ refund, since I like the content of the edition and I can glue the damage. Furthermore, maybe TriForce will still organize a replacement, but in the meantime, I am okay with the solution for this problem.

What I am not okay with though is the handling of the whole code issue. The customer service agent told me that they were never going to receive the Digital Deluxe content for PC, which is also why they have taken down the offer from the webpage. This leaves me with three questions:

  • Did not someone say that there was a tweet or something else, confirming that we would receive the relevant codes? If yes, could someone find this?
  • If they were never to receive these codes, why did GameStop branches in other countries hand them out to customers?
  • Why didn't we even receive the pre-order content?

I would appreciate if somebody could enlighten me.

In fairness, the state of the box contents is not necessarily GameStop's fault; they're merely the middleman between the producer (TriForce) and the end user (you) and in-between both nodes there are other third-parties (namely, couriers) through whose hand the product has to pass in order to reach you. Based on the IE I received from GS (which was thankfully intact) I don't think GS inspect the actual boxes. Mine came in a standard cardboard box with BioWare product details printed on one side, which I assume is how TF delivered it to GS. The quality of the product is the responsibility of TF who make and package the IE; given the number of reports of broken/missing pieces clearly TF's design and/or QA leave could be improved upon a great deal (more internal padding inside the box would be a start). Of course, that doesn't mean that GS bear no responsibility when it comes to rectifying any problems customers experience; your 'contract' is with them rather than TF or BW, after all, but by the sounds of it, it does seem like GS have implemented a restitution policy to deal with broken boxes (replacement/full refund/partial refund).

The matter of missing codes is not something I would expect GS have the power to rectify because that area of responsibility really lies with BW/EA. In hindsight I think GS 'fouled' up because their original listing for the PC edition of IE clearly stated it included the deluxe digital content; that may have been a mistake on their part in just copy/pasting the listings for the console editions but that's not the customer's problem (except as far as PC customers aren't receiving the advertised content). That's why GS have removed the listing from their website because it exposes them to a heap of problems with EA. EA can deal with that problem in one of two ways: either honor the advertised content for PC users as a sign of 'Good Faith' (it's not the customer's fault the listing was incorrect) or stonewall. Some of us have been lucky and managed to reach EA Help advisors who were able to give us the first option; others, unfortunately, less so.  It may be that now EA have tightened up the policy and are just saying 'no' to any requests, or it may be worth persevering in the hope of reaching a more accommodating advisor, but it probably depends on what they've been told they can (or can't) do by their supervisors, who in turn with be relying EA's instructions.

I do think that anyone who can prove they pre-ordered the IE should at least get the pre-order digital content but regrettably I don't make EA policy in that area.

TL;DR: Apportion blame where blame's due.

Couldn't find anything about the code, but did find this tweet by Mark Darrah, that states we wont be receiving the Flames of Inquisition gear. I was always under the impression that while we wont get that stuff (which I'm fine with), we would still be getting the Red Hart mount, music, etc. from the deluxe edition as a digital download, as we wouldn't get the physical copy. I know that inside my steelbook is a code for the useless multiplayer chest (I have no intention of playing MP) which is part of the Deluxe edition, but I haven't unwrapped/opened the actual game case as I don't know if I'll be returning the set or not, and thus don't know what codes are inside.

Oh, erm, and did anyone's quill arrive looking like someone's cat played with it first? XD I think I would be better off grabbing a feather off a pigeon and dunking it in some black dye.

Actually, we should have received parts of the "Flames of the Inquisition", as this was general pre-order content for every edition of the game, which is also mentioned here. The Deluxe Content is the one which we obviously were not entitled to although GameStop UK advertised it. And since there is no information about GameStop UK stating the contrary, I guess it really was just a mistaken description on their page.

Inside the game box, there is just a code for the Standard Edition, nothing more.

Concerning the quill, cats seem to really like it, as mentioned here a bit further down.  :D

So, what he meant to say was 'PC players in Europe only get the physical goods'. Okay then. That first link also says 'pre-order offerings may vary per retailer and country', which explains why we didn't get the FotI stuff. Never really cared about the gear (only cared about the Red Hart and the music - the rest will just get dumped in whatever in-game bin I can find). Confused about why I got the multiplayer code. Thought that was deluxe edition only.

Hey! That feather actually looks kinda nice! All fluffy on the end...mine looks like a cat already had a go at it, and took some of the fluff with it.
