The Inquisitor's Edition is coming to GameStop

You're assuming there were copies to be got at 9:00am. With only three copies per store there is a very real chance some stores had all there stock snagged by employees before the doors opened.
It might seam like a silly presumption but limited edition things get bought up a re-sold for profit all the time. So much so some stores have policies to prevent such things. As far as I can tell EB Games has no such policy.
So in fact the only Canadians that will be enjoying their Inquisitor's Edition are not unemployed but are the EB Games employees.

I think that's an unfair statement. It really depends on the store. Yes there are some stores who will let their employees pre-order all the collectors editions and there are some stores who won't. I live in Canada and went into my EBGames a few days after the inquisitor's edition was announced and they still had all three copies available for pre-order.

Lol "rage" is what you feel when someone you love is brutally murdered, not when you can't get particular edition of a game. I have nothing against the unemployed and am merely ridiculing Electronic Arts' way of handling this particular product. It is just a game and nothing important enough to me to get angry about.
June is way to early for an "early Xmas gift"...I am sure you will still get something darling.
I hope your health is improving.
Well....it is an expensive version of the game so...we'll see ![]()
Thank you, I am working on it and I have made some improvment and hopefully I'll be able to work again soon ![]()
I think that's one of the reasons Dragon Age means so much to me.
After a day of pain, medications, depression, empty bank accounts, needing help with putting my shoes on...to be able to "go" to Ferelden and be a Hero, or a Champion in Kirkwall. It preserves some of my sanity
But, as greatful as I am to Bioware for this it still pisses me off when they - whoever made this decision or didn't make a decision - disrespects us PC gamers like this.

They generally do. Most stores know well in advance of the public when games are going to come out and often pre-order games at cost rather then the overinflated costs that you would get as a consumer. It is how i know about my games well in advance. A combination of a top loyalty card and an old friend from high school working there as a manager. A lot of stores are technically allowed to do it but they are certainly not allowed to release games early but it doesn't stop them from doing it. If a store has 3 copies and it is a choice between them or the customer you can bet they will snag it first.
I wouldn't be surprised to see some of them responsible for the scalping on e-bay tbh. However i am sure there is professional outlets out there that play by the rules most don't. If you go behind the scenes most gaming stores are not like you would expect in a grocery store etc. The rules are really lax, the staff are usually young (given the poor pay) and there is usually no one looking over your shoulder. Not that they need anyone to look over there shoulder when they do this mind you. There is no rule that states they can't pre-order games even when stocks are low. At least this is the case in my country.

PC gamers and the whole of Europe.
Thanks to you all. I got my sad answer.
I gave a look if pre-order the DeluxeEdition for PC by amazon USA but the total delivery costs in Europe (Italy) is about 40€.
Do anyone know if there is a petition to have Deluxe/Inquisition edition for PC in Europe too?
My first reply is just to say: You are not alone in this sadness. :-/

I think the most infuriating thing about this is that fact that unless you probe BioWare folks - who are not even in charge of the effing distribution - every day on Twitter, you wouldn't have ever had that information. They just don't give two flying figs about their customers. Noone can convince me that EA and GameStop didn't know from the first moment on that there will be no IE for Yurop. We asked day1, "Why is it not on the EU sites?" and all we got was a "We're looking into it.". Seriously, eff you. Everyone involved deserves a mightly kick in the balls.
My first reply is just to say: You are not alone in this sadness. :-/
I think there is a Facebook group/petiton, but I don't see anyone making such an idiotic decision care enough to mind that.

I fail to see how anything I said was unfair. I was trying to make a humour laden response to McCrabby and I'm sorry if I came across unclearly. I failed to quote him because I was originally going to add something else and I wasn't going to say as much as I did. I didn't change the post because I'm on an ipad and formatting gets kind of tricky.I think that's an unfair statement. It really depends on the store. I live in Canada and went into my EBGames a few days after the inquisitor's edition was announced and they still had all three copies available for pre-order.
To be clear I never meant to imply most stores ran out because of their own employees. However like I said, with out a policy it's possible regular consumers never even stood a chance. I also wouldn't even want EB games to have such a policy. Employees there get treated like garbage, they deserve every unintended perk they can get.
As for getting a copy after a few day, wow, just wow. I think your store must have been an outlier.
My hand to The Maker, I called nearly two dozen stores to see if they had any copies available. I didn't ask how long it took them to sell out but almost a third volunteered the information that all copies were gone in the first day. One store even sold out within the first half hour.
Warning! unfounded rumour to follow.
During my calling marathon an employee and fellow shafted Dragon Age fan (works there but also didn't get a copy in time) told me he thinks more copies will become available after the summer. I don't believe him because he was the only one to tell me this and he didn't have any details. I don't think he was lying, I just think even he was getting empty promises from the higher ups.

Well, we will not have any Inquisitor's Edition on Brazil. I will play on PS4, but I would gladly buy a PC/Xbox One version just to have all the stuff.
Anyway, I was said that EA is looking for a way to bring "some special boxed edition" to Brazil, but they're not sure even if we will have the boxed Deluxe Edition (the digital one is already on pre-order at both Origin and PSN). Maybe there is a chance any other countries could have this "some special boxed edition" too, but I'm very pessimistic...

As a current employee at GS i can reassure you that employees are not the scalpers you find on e-bay, if gamestop discovers an employee is infact scalping they are immediately terminated. Also if a store and an employee break a street date on a game the store is penalzied and the employee is usually terminated. Gamestop has a zero tolerance policy concerning street dates. (heavy fines are usually posed against gamestop if they break street-date. There are actual penalties.)
As for the number of preorders available they aren't based on a specific store but rather the amount of preorders that store has. For example the system is not like this "Store A gets 50 copies, Store B gets 30" The quantity each store gets is based on preorders, occasionally we can see an incoming shipment Quantity which would give us some insight into how many copies we will have left (outside of preorders if there are any extras) for day one pick up.
Collectors editions are strictly preorder only, on launch day there are never any extras unless someone cancels their preorder. Stores may get in CE's at a later date if they do not sell at certain locations or online. Currently the Inquisitor edition is sold out for all systems on the US gamestop website, we have not heard any word on their being more available at a later date. The deluxe edition however still still available in store and online.
As for the malice towards employees for getting dibs, i can speak from experience we are often have our own preorders within the system. If a certain preorder is no longer available we can try hunting one down after launch date but usually we are SOL like anyone else.

I think BioWare should make a "special box" with DA 1-3 & ME 1-3 (+ all dlc& extra content) available for sale, as a part of their anniversary or something.
Come on BioWare; you could use more money to continue paving the way forward on your winning streak and we, your fans, would be so greatful! ![]()

Well it's not something I couldn't live without, but this does suck so much. For one thing I have the collector's & signature editions of the previous games, so having the steelbook alongside them would have been nice.
Also most of the things in there are things I completely nerdgasm over. The cloth map is gorgeous and I'd love to display it. I'd actually use the notebook and ink and likewise with the tarot deck. ![]()

As for the confusion... so are we all. Most of us Europeans have not even been able to pre-order the IE, so you should be very glad that you had the opportunity.
Apparently pre-orders for the IE were accepted in a few of the European countries (and not in most of the others). Whether or not this means that the IE will actually be available in those few countries... nobody knows for certain, at this point.

A post by Pogo88 here:
http://forum.bioware...faq/?p=16780640
lists the countries where the Inquisitor's Edition/Collector's Edition are known to be available. So far it's just USA, Canada, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. That's an incredbly short list of countries for something that is/was supposed to be a world-wide release!
I just hope that GameStop NEVER gets another exclusive game release from any developer/publisher! ![]()
EDIT: Correcting the list of countries.

Yeah, apparently Gamestop Italy withdrew the offers fairly quickly. This could either be because they sold out of available pre-order stock (best case), or that they were informed that Gamestop will not be releasing the IE in Europe (worst case)...
And IE is a Gamestop exclusive, so there's no point checking other retailers... they can't get it, even if they wanted to.

I would suggest that anyone in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark who may have managed to get a pre-order for the CE goes back to their retailer(s) to double-check and even triple-check that their pre-orders are still valid!

Oh, no problem!
It's just to say that maybe it's the same for the other countries.
I wonder if DAI is multilanguage or not. So I could buy it from a Scandinavian Country without problem. (I don't know if there is a localization or it is in english)

If you have a friend who could buy it for you in Scandanavia it would be great. Gamestops refusal to ship outside of their country is even more sad if you look at the very limited list of countries that will have access to the CE.
