Just got a new email. The PC edition is not the deluxe edition, you'll only get as yet unannounced dlc. Order cancelled. US order back on.

The response I got said "The PC version will come with the exact same content as for the other platforms" but then went on to list the physical stuff in the case.  So I requested clarification that it will also include all the digital content as well - and they "can confirm that the PC version will have the same digital content as well as the physical content".

So now I guess we'll see.

I can live with that. I didn't really want it for the flamey stuff, and the tenner off can go towards it later (if they decide to release it).

Also, thanks for keeping us all informed. You're pretty much my only source of info on this :P Much appreciated.

Really?  What did they actually say?

I figured that I'd want to know what was what if someone else was posting this stuff instead, so it made sense to share the details, such as they are.

EDIT: okay, yet another email sent off so they can hopefully tell me what's what.  Fingers crossed... though I think the 'desk' is closed over the weekend, dammit.

This is the email I got:

Begins

Thank you for contacting GameStop

I am sorry to say this but we have now just been informed that the information regarding the deluxe version of the game we have provided you with is not correct.

I sincerely apologize for giving you the wrong information regarding this, but the PC edition will not be including the deluxe version.
You will however get bonus content with the game that is not yet revealed.

I am really sorry of this, it was not in my intention to mislead you like this.

Ends

There's something about paying £129 for something and then paying extra to get content that should come with it. So I've cancelled it and ordered it from the States.

Cratto I wanted to get the collectors/Inquisitor version for PC in England but from what people are saying the UK gamestop doesn't have as much content as the U.S one? Is that correct? Does anyone know where I can get the definitive collectors edition in the U.K? I would hate to spend £129 and then find out I had missed some dlc or physical item. Man I miss the old forums this place feels too clinical or corporate if that makes any sense :P

The collectors edition isn't missing any physical items.

It does appear to be missing out on some dlc as it's just the standard version if the game (which doesn't come with any). The game in the CEd elsewhere or on other platforms in the UK is just the deluxe edition with physical extras

It seems that we're in the same boat as our Aussie cousins (who are getting an CEd but with the dlc sold separately there's like ours is slightly cheaper than other versions).

There's only one place to get the CEd in the UK is from Gamestop UK.

If you want a physical copy of the PC deluxe edition you can import from the US or buy the digital version via Origin. But it won't come with any physical extras but you'll get all the dlc (apart from the Xbox exclusives which we'll have to buy later).

Ah how annoying I expected that when you paid £129 you would get all day one dlc with all the physical collectables :(

How are you ordering it from the States when they don't deliver outside the US? Do you have a US contact to get it sent to or some such?

(cross-posted question for both crowds)

First of all, hi, it's my debut on BSN. Maybe you guys can help me out, I was trying to get some definite information on the IE availability in Europe and I'm starting to lose my patience.

Nope, Gamestop still won't ship internationally. If you're in a non-Gamestop country, you're just SOL, and from the little we've heard back so far, that's not going to change.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like if I'm in a non-Gamestop country, I'm dead in the water? I really wanted this edition, but maybe I should just let it go, order a Deluxe and be done with it... Once again I feel like I want to give people my money and they just don't want it.

Yeah, if you don't have GameStop stores and don't have a GameStop website for your country, you're basically scuppered, I'm sorry to say.  No one seems entirely sure why EA chose to go with them, to be honest.

First of all Hi and Welcome, hope you enjoy your time here.

2nd and depending on what platform you want to purchase on, outside the states there is no physical version of the deluxe edition on PC only a digital version through origin. Just in case you wanted a physical deluxe edition for PC (which I did and can't get apparently).

Yeah, just found out today when I went searching for it that I can't get a physical version of deluxe edition either, so I just gave up and ordered a digital version, though I wasn't too happy about it. I know, I know, it's probably cheaper and more convenient for the company to sell digital copies, but I'm not sure promoting digital versions by giving people no other choice is a way to do it. I for one prefer having a physical version, something I can touch and put on my shelf with all my other favorite games, but maybe it's just because I'm older than the Internet;) So situations like this just ****** me off a bit, not that I'm going to start a riot or something, but still.

There's something about paying £129 for something and then paying extra to get content that should come with it. So I've cancelled it and ordered it from the States.

I have now received confirmation of the same:

"I have gotten an answer regarding the Deluxe version for PC, and it seems like there has been a misunderstanding.

"I can now with a 100 percent security say that unfortunately the PC version will not come with the Deluxe content. There will be digital bonus content, but they have not released what it will be for the PC version yet."

So now it is a matter of deciding what to do about it.  The odds that I'll manage to snag a CE box at this "late" stage (compared to when it first became available) are probably quite long anyway (in other words, I'll come near the end of the queue and they might run out before they reach me) but if the "deluxe upgrade" isn't horrifically expensive I can do that.  Otherwise, if the CE doesn't come my way and my order gets cancelled or downgraded for me I can always cancel it and order the digital deluxe version on Origin instead, if it happens sufficiently ahead of time.

So it comes down to do I really want the box 'n' stuff (and to pay for the upgrade) or do I want to cancel my CE order and just go straight for the digital version right now?

I've got a while to think about it.

(cross-posted again for helpful informativeness)

Comparing prices shows that the physical standard versions for PC are actually cheaper than the digital versions!

Dragon Age Inquisition PC Standard Edition @ GAME shows the pre-order price for the physical version is £39.99 and the download version is £49.99. The digital version from Origin also costs £49.99. Just a brief little FYI for anyone who may not be aware of the pricing difference!

From the Raptr QA:

Any word on a physical deluxe edition for PC in Uk/europe?

BioWareDAI  Likely not going to happen. Items in it will be made available for purchase separately. - Mark

So there we are.  Which suggests that as long as my CE actually arrives I'll be able to "deluxe up" on the day anyway.

Got an email reply from EB Games Australia: that the PC Inquisitor's Edition here does include the DLC items

They're still being listed on the website, for now.

But tbh who knows, I'm still going to ask in store on the day, but at least we can upgrade.

I can't beleive that outside of the U.S it is difficult to get the collectors edition?!? You would think that a money gruubing publisher would relish the though of a £129 collectors edition but they seem to only be making it a difficult thing to buy. I guess I will go with gamestop U.K and just pirate any left out dlc which for £129 I shouldn't have to do lol!

Just watched the E3 demo and then placed my pre-order :P game is looking good and for once you can jump!! Meaning less invisible boundaries and blocks by silly things like a few small rocks. After seeing the demo I was actually thinking maybe they should delay further but hopefully they had all hands on deck for this one as it is their first next gen title :)

Now I am confused regarding the digital content.

The Austrian gamestop website list all the extras from the DE (Halla, Unicorn, ... ) I would be very disappointed to learn that I will have to buy those separately.

On the plus side, they are still taking pre-orders here, I just placed mine.

Just to make sure, does the DAI CE come with all goodies, or will it miss the not-yet-disclosed DDE goodies?

It may vary with the country of release i think

For example, the CE is now available in France to preorder, but it is sold without the game...

I didn't read about the same case in any other country like mine :D
