You dislike 3/4 of the gold factions?

And the one faction you do like on gold is the geth?

You must really be on boogiemans **** list...

Geth is the easiest faction on Gold. They are slow, walk a straight line and the only ranged unit that's capable of bypassing shield gate is the Geth Trooper and he's easy to kill because he only has health.

All the other factions have 2 each, one with Shields: Assault Trooper/Centurion, Cannibal/Marauder, Collector Trooper/Captain.

Geth Pyros, Hunters have to be in close range for them to be any threat and Geth Rocket Troopers can be easily dodged.

Simply put. Those 3 factions annoy the hell out of me, from mook spam to repetitive bosses one wave right after another.

Since you like Geth on gold and like banshee spam, atlas/phantom spam, crab/scion spam (given your liking for platinum reapers, cerberus and collectors), I am curious to know why you dislike Geth platinum since it's just a mix of the above enemies.

Platinum sucks. If I didn't need credits, I wouldn't even consider playing it.

Hmm, I can't think of anyone else on BSN who'd describe gold a mook spam as opposed to describing platinum as boss spam.

The fact that a lot of your early gameplay was platinum games with spectres has given you a rather unique point of view, it would seem.

 

I'm curious now, what did you think of silver when you joined in with the themed duo's event?

If you're that close to a maxed manifest, why not just play whatever difficulty you enjoy most instead?

Yeah, I play mostly platinum. But I still play gold (particularly on PS3) and sometimes Cerberus on silver. For the Guardians.

Too many Geth on Geth/Platinum.

Targets are the worst objective. Wave 2 is complete bs.

Geth Turrets, Geth Turrets everywhere! Stagger, Stagger, Stagger, Pulse, Pulse, Pulse.

...it doesn't mean I won't play it however. I really don't care if the mission failed, as long as I know I did my best under the circumstances.

Which is why I probably why I can handle playing Platinum all the time. It's fun for me.

Ari: Do you ever play the randomizer game on Plat? With friends.. I find it the most fun. A few days ago I played with a few buds and it churned out some real doozies like:

Krogan Shaman Katana/Krysae
Geth Engi Katana
Quarian Marksman Locust (which was me and wasn't that bad)
Off Host Slayer with a Mattock (Mobius, who cried like a little girl all game)

and the winner for most trolled build was

Volus Adept w/ a Viper

Platinum is boss spam technically speaking, just different boss combinations each wave.

Gold is mook spam with bosses until the end waves 8, 9 and 10. Waves 8 & 9 annoy me because it's the same damn wave composition, just with different mooks or sub bosses. I think the problem lies with those 3 waves.

Geth has Primes on wave 7 and none on wave 8, then again on wave 9. I think that helps me not to get annoyed at Geth.

Silver was nice, it didn't drag on like Gold vs those 3 factions.

..except for that Annihilation duo.

When I was going for Cerberus Mastery, I would milk Wave 3 Cerberus Silver dry for those pesky Guardians. So glad I'll never have to go out of my way to kill those things again

I think gold ir more pure fun, while plat is more for the challenge and the bigger reward. Since I´m a gambler by nature who enjoys taking risks, I like the idea of going plat so I can get nearly double the money I would obtain on gold.

Yes.. it is. It's super lolzy.. and sometimes you find some real gems.. weapons you would think are borderline useless but you end up really liking. It's why I like the CAR so much.

Platinum is e-peen fun.  It's not much fun otherwise.  Gold is more fun for playing different builds and stuff.  Silver is better for socializing.

I'm certainly no elitist, but I'll answer as a BSNer.

 

I only play plat on my main account, with a max manifest anything else is far too easy. That said, I spend about equal time these days on my alt account  where I don't even have six of each consumable yet (ex. gel). On there I always play gold and have a blast doing it

That's a good build. I'd rock that one happily and count myself lucky it didn't give me the Shuriken or Katana.. or even worse.. the Carnifex. I hate the Carnifex.. but it would be ok on a Marksman kit.

I have rolled 'Snake Eyes' before... Volus Merc with a Shuriken.
