i agree
There's fun in every character.. except, the Vorcha Soldier. No matter what I do.. I can't find a way to enjoy him.. and I've tried. I bet I've burned 15 respec cards on that guy trying different builds to find something about him I really like.
Melee VSol all the way.
iirc TNS doesn't play the Fury or Slayer because of their dodge.
It's one of the reasons I am not a big fan of those characters. Fury is way too one dimensional for me. Run up to enemy, throw...so boring for me.
I exclusively play off host and slayer is a bit annoying off host. I can stand novaguard off host but the slayer, not so much.
And I am not a big fan of teleport dodges either.
Having said that, I have played enough games with this two characters before coming to that conclusion. Now a days I don't use them much unless I am soloing or if someone wants me to use that character.
My sentiments exactly.
What's elitist? Good players? those with 1k+ posts? Those with 10 video posts or more? Or those who have been here for more than a year? etc.
Elitist isn't about ability or achievement, it's about attitude. One can be utterly useless at ME3 and contribute nothing to the forum and still have an elitist attitude. (For numerous vivid examples, see this link.)
I suspect the OP meant to address the BSN elite, which is not the same thing, although most of them are elitists too.
I meant to play on a meme that started in March 2012.

Fury is a lot more dimensional than you realize. What's the difference between your Drell and her?
You should play the Talon Merc.
Have I not told before that I consider the Talon Merc the extremum of boredom?
Here's why:
1. His 'so-called melee' is one where he stands 20 feet from the enemy and shoots bows. No thank you. I'd rather play a character whose melee is 'in-your-face' style - which is everyother character.
2. Then, there's the cain trip mines. Competes with reegar for being an abomination in the game.
I have tried to make fury more fun. I have tried a DC + AF detonation build - it's too slow and makes her a lot more vulnerable to enemy attacks, as compared to AF+throw build.
Her melee build is quite fun, I give her that. But it sometimes fails to activate off-host because it goes through walls and stuff. So, it kinda annoyed me after a while. Teleporting attacks and dodges really annoy me. Cabal is an exception because I've had the least number of problems with her.
And why should I fury when I can do something similar and better with my valkyrie, who is way more versatile.
And no, fury can never even hope to get on drell's level. ![]()
When I was still playing regularly, I played platinum only for like 6 months, unless I was duoing or soloing gold. True story. Pure Elitest. ![]()
Yes, but I pull my pants down first, to make it more realistic.

It's true.
He and Max tried to make me do a platinum trio.
Who was laughing after that?
Not me, I chose the wrong kit ![]()
So does that mean I don't have to worry about you beating my time for the Insanity challenge "Retake Omega Chronicles Part 2 Jesse my love"?
Nope. You can have the talon merc all for yourself. ![]()
It's more tedious because it requires people to pop the lid off of the jar. Whatever level of skill you approach gold with, raise it up when approaching platinum. You aren't limited by any means in platinum. Playing "balls to the walls " is still very possible on platinum and I doubt being more mindful and cautious of your surroundings limits the fun either. The platinum people I play with play balls to the wall all the time. We kick ass and have fun with any kit/build.The biggest knock I would say about Platinum is basically what mega and TNS already said. It limits characters, builds and weapons much more than Gold. And although technically it is more than possible to use any character, weapon, or build on Platinum, some are exponentially more tedious.
I also think the change in gate times makes latency an even larger factor in how much fun you will have.

Me and the peeps I play with excel in making anything work mega while having fun in the process. What's fun for me and them may not be fun for others. For us it has very little to do with what's "textbook affective".So.. you would play plat with a build that is deficient in armor damage? Like say.. a Geth Engi with a Falcon? Which is a perfectly fine Gold build.. but would be useless in 'armor spam land.' Or would you just slap a CSMG/Hurricane sidearm on it and call it a day? Would you or would you not hug the right hand advantage corners like they were your long lost family members? Because in Gold, you can stagger a much larger percentage of the enemies with Falcon/Overload.. but on Plat it's 11 waves of right hand advantage.

Nah bro. Just pop the lid off the Shuriken. If you have enough skill it increases the armor DPS.
Anything can be made to work on platinum.
But some people like to have plat games that are not 40-60 minutes long.
