But there is only 5 months left till release. Will that be enough? We'd better get a great CC.
News of the hour... DAI has officially gone Alpha!

You don't even need to ask. There is always someone who cams most of them.

Must have been a lot of content for it to be so close to release, concerned it won't have enough time for proper testing and bug fixing.

E3 just happens 1 day before the 24 hour race in Le Mans. Thats going to be the best weekend ever. ![]()

Just because Alpha means content is not complete, doesn't mean there's not already lots of content.
Just that it's not complete.
The confidence is more telling that the technical announcement.

Where E3 happens, it is 14 hours behind Indonesia.

Since I didnt see this thread I started a new on, alas....
Hurray!
Wait, what? Are you telling me that you are realeasing game in BETA in less than 4 months? Is this a good thing to be proud of? Is there a new meaning and "timetable" of/for alphas and betas in the industry that I'm not aware of?
Look, I said it in my previous thread when I was arguing about new screens quality and all, of course I was branded a nay sayer and a troll and whatnot. Dont you think thats alarming? DECLARED ALPHA... as if we just entered alpha stage with DAI and we haaaav aaaall the time we want to squeeze alpha AND BETA into 4 months?
Colour me buffeled.
I'm afraid DAI will be a swiss cheese ridden with holes that they did not have the time to work on as much as it was needed 'coz - those bad, bad publishers with their excell sheets...
In a result DAI might be uncomplicated, full of missing content, barren and just good looking.
OMG, I really, REALLY hope I'm otherworldly mistaken on this one.
... or, just maybe, they forgot to tell us its not 2014 but 2015 release?

I have faith that the developers have everything in hand. I'm sure its been said that the game is mainly content complete and that they are mostly working on identifying and removing bugs at the moment. I think that 5 months should be ample time for that. I don't think there's much to worry about ![]()

First of all, the game's already been delayed, so they're definitely taking their time with it. It's not gonna be rushed at all.
And second, the stages of development and how it is defined is different with every developer. BioWare are always in Alpha 4-5 months before release. It's just how they do it.
Your pessimism is incredibly misplaced, and frankly quite annoying.

We need some pessimism, otherwise the internet will be too happy and no-one wants that.

I would prefer the game be delayed and perfect or close to it than to have them rush it and have it be half-assed. I prefer to be optimistic about it myself, and hope for the best.
Better than sitting and stewing in negativity.
IMO anyway.
Can't wait for E3 info and more beta test invites! lol

pfft this is the most uninteresting news I read this month, why should I care if it went Alpha, I only care when it goes Gold.
Not to be rude...but if that's the case, then why read it? It says in the topic that going Alpha was the main topic. I'm confused.

What use is panic?
If the game is fine, it's fine. I don't think the studio is exactly aiming for mediocrity, and why would they set a release date if they weren't confident of hitting it at a suitable level of quality?
If the game isn't going well, then that will become clear at launch. Why worry now?

Not to say I am not SUPER EXCITED and EARGERLY and IMPATIENTLY awaiting any and all info on DA:I that I can sink my sharp little teeth into, but panicking over Alpha status being so "late" or "early" or whatever is useless. It will happen when it happens and all we can do is wait and drool until it comes out in 3 months and 2 weeks lol(hope I don't get flamed if I got my calculations wrong this is just an off the top of my head estimation).
