I really hope that Cullen would give us some dialogue on the personal life of Meredith, and what she use to do during personal hours. It's sad to see that we couldn't enable the dialogue with Meredith to further discuss her personal life, with the exception of what happen to her sister in DA2.

We only viewed her as this tough dictating Templar, but it would be nice to hear what she does during social events.

You might be right. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that Meredith had a thing for the robes :P

Makers breath! Who are you kidding? Even the Maker himself would laugh at your reaction. You know you love seeing such romance!

During social events she was probably as much of a raving lunatic as she is at every other time.

Does it really matter?

Whether you loved or loathed her, she'd dead.

Tortured mages, Picking mages at random for tranquility or execution. Keeping Viscount seat empty. Rewarding Karras and Alirk for their "good works".

On her free time she would:
  • Read yaoi manga featuring Templar bears and Mage twinks.
  • Thinking of new ways to torture Mages, such as BDSM.
  • Takes Oghren's and Anders's party banter to a new level.

How do you trigger that conversation? I've never heard it.

Not that it would have changed anything. I decided she needed to die about five seconds after meeting her (and in fact would have loved an option to kill her in Act 2 and blame it on the qunari)

You have to side with her when she and Orsino are arguing at the beginning of Act 3. Doing so will make her the one who gives you the main quests, as well as let you talk to her.

I like Meredith. She's my favorite character from DA2. I would like to know her story.

Anyways. I found this.

Yes, I find Meredith fascinating too. Her sister story, her opposition to Viscount Threnhold, her career from orphanage kid to Knight-Commander, her resistance to the damn idol. I am biased, but I see her not as evil incarnated, but as initially good person who was corrupted with power and paranoia. Was really upset with the ending.

Hmm, may be Cullen will turn up useful for once, though I doubt he will talk about her.

Her sister story could be insteresting but it'll depend how it turns out. And I doubt Cullen knows that much about her.

Her backstory kind of sounds like Javier's from Les Misérables . Now that I think about it the two share a lot of character traits hmm... strange

No one's mentioned this yet, but my favorite thing about Meredith by far was her voice actor. Holy crap what a performance. My favorite in DA2 i think.

Yeah, only heard her in DA2 and Skyrim, but she sas a highlight as far as voice acting goes. I don't think the voice acting was a strong point of DA2, but Jean Gilpin was great.

Jean Gilpin was amazing, I hope Bioware will use her talent in future. I also liked Meredith's design, the armor was great, looked practical and not sexualised. She oozes authority and power.

The stupid thing in DA2 was that you only got to learn why Meredith acted as she did if you supported her, whereas it would have made more sense for her to be telling someone who didn't support her initially in order to try and persuade them to do so.   Mind you I have to admit that using persuasion rather than an iron fist didn't really seem her style.    I found it most illuminating when my Hawke initially told her he wouldn't do her dirty work rounding up mages and she then made an implied threat against Bethany even though she admitted she was an exemplary mage.    Taking Anders to meet her was also very enlightening on both sides, although it also emphasised the absurdity of the situation where Meredith would allow him to walk out of the Gallows after saying what he did and when she knew he was a mage.   When he later bombed the Chantry I really wanted to point out it was really all her fault for not taking him in when she had the chance.   Ditto Cullen when I reported Anders to him and Anders is standing right there (actually complaining about me trying to turn him in).    Honestly my non mage Hawke did his best to stop Anders but the Templars just behaved like idiots.

I'm hoping that there will be more consistency in DAI with this sort of thing.

Here here! I loved siding with Meredith and hearing her back story. It added so much depth to her. She's my favorite non companion character in all of DA and if there had been a way to save her I would have taken it in a heartbeat. I found her much more engaging and sympathetic than Orsino, especially since even though she went bleeding mad at the end she was right about him.

I haven't been all that interested in Cullen returning but if we'll get to hear more about Meredith from him then...game on man.
