xbox 360 drifting

Has anyone else been in a battle and targeted correctly then hit- only to have your character wander off and keep going after hitting once? Also, when shooting arrows, your character will shoot once then run randomly towards the battle that you are trying to stay away from. Is this a bug or is there some secret to fighting thats not in the manual?

Once you press A to select to attack a target, your PC will continue to attack until you do something else. If the target moves out of range or behind cover while you are shooting at range, your PC will automatically movie in until he can continue attacking. Of course, this varies depending on the AI you have set.
