I wonder why Merrill didn't get quest in MOTA?

I've wondered that myself. Every other companion gets at least one special quest in MOTA (and some even get two), but poor Merrill is left out in the cold.

 

My guess is the devs probably were in a rush to get the DLC out and forgot about her.

I think Isabela and Aveline are the only ones with quests that actually have cut-scenes and such. The others have near forgettable "pick up the item" quests that may add a line or two of dialogue. Hence, Merrill not having one isn't that big of a deal.

I don't think the devs were in a rush and forgot about her, but I think her isolation prior to joining Hawke as well as being Dalish kinda makes it difficult to make anything of interest for her at Chateau Haine.

I think she was intended to get a quest , but it was cut for some reason.
