Greetings all. I've been on hiatus from the Bioware forums for past several months. Just something about switching sites rubbed me the wrong way. Also I've been extremely busy with college, seeing as I'm graduating soon. Glad to be back and ready to discuss all things Dragon Age :)

So over the past few months Bioware has finally begun to give a bunch of details, concepts, etc. on the actual game. The topic that I've put a lot of thought into and would like to discuss is the planning of your multiple Inquisitors, as in which classes, specializations, and companions (you can even assume romances) do you plan to associate most with your individual Inquisitors?

I'm all about the role playing and I can't wait. I love to plan and create these scenarios in my head in preparation for the game. The game's coming out the day after my birthday so it's like a nice gesture from Bioware to me :)

REMEMBER: This is all speculation and opinionated. Respect everyone's opinions even if they are not in unison with your own. Thank you.

Here are my groups (always subject to change);

Mages:

1) First/Main Inquisitor: Male Human/Elf (haven't decided).

Specialization: Knight Enchanter or Rift (need more details on Rift, I think it'll be something similar to Force Mage from DA:2)

Personality: He will be me, this is my personality incorporated. Generally a good guy, remains neutral as best he can, will fight to the death to protect the innocent and harshly punish the wicked. Despite being a Mage, he understands the dangers of mages/magic and offers sympathy to both sides; templars and mages. Blood magic is unacceptable. Big on the concept of true Justice. Respect means a lot to him, show a lack of and there will be consequences accordingly.

Appearance: Though this character's personality may be my own, his appearance will not be. He'll have dirty blonde-brown hair and greyish-blue eyes. Medium body build, more towards the tall muscular side. Hair will be medium to long length, I'd enjoy a similar style to Male Hawke from DA:2. A hefty beard is very likely :D (assuming I choose human).

Voice Dialect: Going to choose the American accent probably, considering I myself am American.

Ideal Companions: 1 mage, 1 rogue, 1 warrior. So Vivenne/Solace/Dorian, Varric/Sera/Cole, Cassandra/Iron Bull/Grey Warden. If I had to pick a best team from the top of my head: Vivenne, Cassandra, Varric.

Romance: Open to any straight ones. Cassandra, Sera, Vivenne, any female NPC, all are fair game.

2) Another male Human/Elf Inquisitor (whichever I didn't pick the first time).

Specialization: Knight Enchanter or Rift (again, whichever I didn't pick the first time).

Personality: Depends on whether I'm Human or Elven. This personality is currently being constructed. Likely to be pro-mage,

Appearance: Depends on which race I end up choosing. In construction.

Voice Dialect: Debatable.

Ideal Companions: 2 mages, 1 warrior. Ideal team includes Vivenne/Solas/Dorian and Cassandra/Iron Bull/Grey Warden.

Romance: Same as the first, open to any.

3) Female Qunari Saarebas

Specialization: Rift (maybe Knight Enchanter if I feel it suits her personality better)

Personality: Very strong willed character. Knows her limits and understands honor despite never being part of the Qun. Will limit collateral damage as much as possible, but knows when to push. She'll save whoever is salvageable for the bigger fight, and respect the rest who give up their lives for the greater cause. Will not tolerate unruly behavior.

Appearance: Tall yet slender. Pale white skin, branching away from the Grey to Golden tone most Qunaris range from. Medium length hair; dark grey/charcoal hair color. Reddish-Violet eye color. If no horns is an option, then no horns, otherwise very small horns.

Voice Dialect: American.

Ideal Companions: 2 warriors, 1 rogue (she'll assume the sole role as mage for the party). Ideal team includes Iron Bull/Cassandra/Grey Warden and Varric/Sera/Cole. I can really see myself using the team of Iron Bull, Cassandra, and Cole.

Romance: Iron Bull  :) two Qunaris in love. Yet another defiance of the Qun.

4) Female Elf.

Specialization: Necromage. Using the old magics of the Dalish to achieve any means necessary.

Personality: Very in-tune with her culture. Believes in the ends justifying the means. Will resort to dangerous magics to protect the many, a similar philosophy of the Grey Wardens. She'll do what she must to prevail. Very intelligent and cunning, always looking to perfect herself and her team.

Appearance: Long ears, symmetrical face. Tannish-Yellow skin tone. Blueish-Green eyes. Reddish/Orange hair; haven't decided the length/style.

Voice Dialect: British.

Ideal Companions: 1 mage, 1 rogue, 1 warrior. Ideally Solas, Sera, and Cassandra/Iron Bull/Grey Warden. Mostly Elven team!

Romance: Solas. Maybe Sera if she's more favorable.

Rogues:

1) Human Female Dual Wield Rogue.

Specialization: Assassin.

Personality: Very idealistic. A heroine among the people, trusted to protect and preserve the future of Thedas. A dedicated woman who fights with the tenacity of the most benevolent spirit. Fights with finesse of which most warriors have never seen from a female before. Loved by and an inspiration to many. A supporter of the Divine and the Chantry, but will stand up for mages if they are innocent.

Appearance: Gorgeous face. Light skin tone. Long, silky black hair in a pony tail. Big, deep blue eyes. Very sexy.

Voice Dialect: British.

Ideal Companions: Gonna switch it up between having 2 mages or 2 warriors present at a time. Ideal team includes Cassandra, Grey Warden, and Vivenne.

Romance: Grey Warden, Cullen, or Dorian.

2) Elf Male Archer Rogue.

Specialization: Tempest.

Personality: A hardened character. Knows sacrifice and the grim truth about war. Has a fire inside him, but does not let it fester and control him. Extremely intelligent, perceptive, and cunning. Incredibly talented archer and adept in short sword-play. Sees the city elves as lost and weak, very in tune with his Dalish culture. Rarely shows his emotions and doesn't let them get in the way of Inquisition's goals. Understands that soldiers are expendable, and sacrifice must be made to win the war. Has a "fight to the last soldier" mentality.

Appearance: Taller than the average elf. Slender, but muscular. Light skin tone. Blonde hair, dark green eyes. Has a vertical scar on his left eye. I want to give him a Punk hairstyle, if those will be offered. Otherwise something like Fenris from DA:2, or your standard bun/tail.

Voice Dialect: American.

Ideal Companions: 1 mage, 2 warriors (or 1 warrior and 1 extra rogue). Ideal team includes Solas, Sera, and Cassandra/Grey Warden/Iron Bull.

Romance: Sera  :) Elven archers! Sera does come off as sort of mischievous however, and this character is a rather serious fellow. Maybe he'll end up favoring Cassandra more!

3) Female Dwarf Dual Wield Rogue.

Specialization: Artificer. (Going to make a quirky little lover of contraptions dwarf...probably one of my most looked forward to playthroughs).

Personality: An incredibly cute, quirky, hyper, and perky little dwarf. Always had a knack for all things mechanical and requiring golden artistry. Has the intelligence and creativity of a Paragon. Very excited to have so many resources of the Inquisition thrown at her, looks forward to crushing foes with her new contraptions/weapons. Like Varric, has an unhealthy attachment to her weapon(s). Believes in everyone getting along and joining forces to combat evil as a unified force. Very diplomatic character.

Appearance: Cute, pudgy face. Burgundy wine hair color and lipstick to match. Debating between hair being short like Leliana's or in a tail, bun, or pig tails. Eyes either auburn or blue, haven't decided.

Voice Dialect: American.

Ideal Companions: 1 rogue ALWAYS Varric. 1 mage, 1 warrior. Ideal team inclues ALWAYS VARRIC, Vivenne/Solas/Dorian, and Cassandra/Iron Bull/Grey Warden.

Romance: Varric  :) he did say he enjoys cute dwarven girls...

Note: I'd love to make a Qunari rogue but...I just can't see it. Too goofy/out of place. Maybe someday when I'm inspired.

Warriors:

1) Male Qunari Two Handed Warrior.

Specialization: Champion.

Personality: A tough, hardened, no nonsense kind of guy. Very similar to Sten's personality in DA:O. Does not bother with minuscule tasks that stand in his way. Quite ruthless in achieving his goals. Despite this, he believes very highly in honor and Justice. Will not allow innocents to be slaughtered without a fighting chance. Will protect the weak if they are not properly challenged. Bandits, Marauders, Blood Mages, Red Templars- beware. He is your worst nightmare.

Appearance: Huge. Massively built. Long curved horns. Grey, coarse skin tone. Very scar'ed up face and body. Dark eyes. Either long unkept dark hair or no hair at all.

Voice Dialect: American.

Ideal Companions: 1 warrior, and switching between 2 mages or 1 mage and 1 rogue. Ideal team includes Iron Bull, Vivenne/Solas/Dorian, and Cole.

Romance: None probably.

2) Male Human Sword&Shield Warrior.

Specialization: Templar. Gonna be a smart pro-templar playthrough, as in not ignorant or blind to abuses but is well aware of the dangers of magic.

Personality: A very smart, diplomatic, and brave soldier. Dedicated to the Chantry, the Divine, and the Maker. Understands that the whole threat is the work of evil magic, as is the cause of several other conflicts in Thedas. Knows magic and demons must be kept at bay, will do what's necessary to guarantee safety and victory. He is the epitome of Vigilance. Has the skills and mentality of a Templar, but is not a fanatic. He is not ignorant to abuses, and understands not all mages are evil. Always alert, always righteous.

Appearance: Tall, athletic build. Short dirty blonde-brown hair. Clean face. Hazel eyes. Quite handsome, looks like the trademark Inquisitor of the trailers so far.

Voice Dialect: British.

Ideal Companions: Always 1 other warrior (probably always Cassandra). 1 rogue, 1 mage. This character will probably only tolerate Vivenne as a mage. Ideal team includes Cassandra, Vivenne, and Varric/Sera/Cole.

Romance: Cassandra. Talk about a power couple  :)

3) Male Dwarf Two Handed Warrior.

Specialization: Champion.

Personality: A tough fighter with who is torn between honor and seedier elements. Personality can be described as an "honorary mercenary". There is no black or white with him, only grey. He fights for the greater cause, but does sketchy things to achieve the end goal. Many are weary of his ways, but none question the talent or tenacity within him. He'll always be on the lookout for a profit or an edge, anything to get ahead and gain more influence. Can be perceived as ruthless. Loves ale.

Appearance: Long dirty blonde-brown hair, likely to be braided in some areas. Huge, thick, luscious beard; also to have braids or some kind of design. Angry face, big nose. Green or Brown eyes.

Voice Dialect: American.

Ideal companions: 1 warrior, 1 mage, 1 rogue. Ideal team includes Cassandra/Iron Bull/Grey Warden, Vivenne/Solas/Dorian, and Varric.

Romance: Probably none. Gonna just **** people for fun probably.  ;)

4) Female Elf Warrior. If there's a Dual Wield Warrior I'd love that for her (like Ariane from Witch Hunt). Otherwise Sword&Shield.

Specialization: Reaver. Using old magics once again to enhance her powers. Doesn't feel right using a Reaver on any other warrior.

Personality: Incredibly talented warrior and a marvel among the Dalish. Very dedicated to her people and in restoring Elven honor, including helping the city elves. Obviously pro elf. Does not feel the same way about mages as the chantry does, thinks humans are rather foolish and often hypocrites. Not a racist, however. Agrees to disagree. Believes in fighting as a singular unit, in the unison of several factions to combat the greater evil. Those who do not join the Inquisition will forcibly be integrated or be perished. Diplomatic, yet ruthless at the same time.

Appearance: Light skin tone. Pointy features. Bleach blonde hair, in the exact style of Morrigan's from DA:Origins. A couple of small scars across her face. Green Eyes.

Voice Dialect: British

Ideal Companions: 2 mages, 1 rogue. She's going to be all the muscle/tank for the team. Everyone else will be a glass cannon. Ideal team includes Vivenne/Solas/Dorian and Varric/Sera/Cole.

Romance: Open to any really: Solas, Sera, Grey Warden, Cullen, Dorian, or NPC.

And that ladies and gentleman is my current plan. Thank you for reading, and have fun coming up with your own :)

you could always go with a female qunari as a rogue they are pretty lithe :) perfect for sneakers.

Anyway for me I am torn between making a dwarf rogue my first play or qunari mage probably just going to have to roll some dice to decide. as for the rest of my group and its comp I'll have to get to know them before I decide.

That I do, and I could plan even more in the future. Trust me, you don't wanna know how many DA:O or Mass Effect playthroughs I have... ;)

It's all about being immersed and invested. I love these role playing games so much potential for replay value.

True, as I've said it's all about speculation currently. All of this is subject to change as we get more information/actually play the game lol.

I've fancied a Qunari Artificer Rogue, since Qunari are quite infamous for their explosives/gasses (Gaat-lok and Saar-Qamek). Sounds like something an Artificer would bring to the battlefield. We'll see!

Not exactly, and it's not entirely accurate. However a playthrough can apparently easily be 100+ hours with all side quests, exploration etc.

First inquisitor: Male Qunari

Class: Rogue

Specialization: Probably Artificier, possibly Assassin

Personality: Highly sarcastic, and enjoys having some fun and good humour, but doesn't allow emotions to colour his judgement, pragmatic when necessary.

Companions: Iron Bull, Grey Warden, Vivienne/Varric

Romance: I need to know more about them before deciding.

Second Inquisitor: Male Dwarf

Class: Warrior

Specialization: probably Champion

Personality: Not a Goody-two-shoes, but not far off it, will try to protect as many people as he can.

Companions: Sera, DHMG, Varric

Romance: I need to know more about them before deciding.

Third Inquisitor: Female Elf

Class: Mage

Specialization: Rift mage I think, but will need to see the others in more detail before I can be sure.

Personality: Pretty pro-elf, pro-circle mage, who will be very pragmatic, except for when elven interests are involved.

Companions: Solas, Cole, Cassandra

Romance: I need to know more about them before deciding.

A highly sarcastic Qunari, now that'll be something out of the ordinary haha.

All these posts show a Personality section to their Inquisitors, I guess I should go back and edit mine it.

I know I'm going lady dwarf rogue for my first run, and I'll have to see how I feel about the characters before I pick a party.

Second run lady qunari warrior (unless playing a mage looks really really fun, in which case mage)

After that I'll just pick what class I haven't tried with whatever race I feel like at the time.

Sure. What's the downside of winging it the first time, and then doing subsequent playthroughs depending on what looks interesting after the first playthrough?

Or rather, what's the upside of planning before seeing the game?

lol, What can I say, my qunari will be a sparkling snowflake. It's actually just a coincidence, I am a very sarcastic person in general, and that's one of the reasons that I love the Qunari so much. Sten and Arishok are just so fun to talk to IMO.

You missed my point, you questioned that anyone would plan for a character, when its obvious why someone would do so.

You can play how you'd like, how you choose to play means nothing to me but i dont see whats so strange or out of the ordinary for players to plan ahead when we're given dozens of choices as to what we want to do in a given playthrough

I haven't planned to the extent that you have OP, but i do have my first inquisitor pretty much set, atleast the basics.

I'm planning on doing a human male warrior first. Might sound boring to some, but that's pretty much always what i go with first.

Specialization will most likely be champion, but i think i'll need to know more about the 3 different ones first.

Ideal companions probably Varric, Cassandra, and depending on how i end up feeling about her, Vivienne. I wanna use Iron Bull alot too. Maybe sometimes go full warrior party with Cassandra Iron Bull and the Grey Warden. What an asskicking team that would be :D

Romance: Cassandra. This is honestly the only thing that's set 100 % in my mind i think, lol. I have a weakness for short black hair on girls.

The only thing that would make me kind of conflicted about this is if Leliana turns out to be romanceable, but i highly doubt that, unfortunately.

Cassandra it is then, not that i mind in the slightest
