Do you prefer playing Female or Male? An what sexual preference? An lastly do you prefer a man or woman in charge? I'm taking a class similar to this issue an wanted to know your thoughts on this.

Personally, play a Hetero Male Shepard because it helps get me into the story since I am a hetero male and that my decisions and choices are genuine. For example, if I were to play a Fem Shepard all my choices and decisions would bias, cheating an lying to myself. I get it is a role playing game but pretending to be something your not is conflicting. There has to be some rl aspects taken into your own character that portray how you react to certain situations an the choices made in ME. As for who I prefer in charge its hard to say. I'd rather be in charge instead but if I have to chose I plea Nolo Contendere until otherwise.

I play DnD... hate away, if you will.

If I can play kobold, goblin, elf, dwarf, demon, dragon and who knows what other fantasy creatures... playing as a woman is the least of my problems.

Mostly hetero guy, playing exclusively as FemShep.

Fine.

I play a role. I prefer to play as a female, because I find the idea of a woman saving a galaxy infinitely more likeable to the idea of a squarejawed, tough guy doing it... again. I don't consider myself any more gay because of it, nor any less of a man. And if anybody does, well... it's their prerogative.

Yes, this is largely my sentiment too.

I always look at it like actors play roles contrary to their real personalities all the time. I'm no actor but role-playing games give me a chance to sort of be one; male or female, human or alien, doesn't matter. Certainly many times my own beliefs or conscience affect my decisions, but sometimes not. It's fun to have an idea about who the character is, and then play them that way... otherwise why pick different backgrounds?

As for who I prefer to have in charge, well to me it doesn't matter. if we're lucky it won't be an issue in 170 years in RL either.

i´m male, but i prefer to play as femshep. i cant identify myself with maleshep, he´s too much of a stereotypic soldier imo. LI is Liara, but only because Tali isn´t avaiable as a lesbian LI.
generally i prefer the right person in charge, gender isn´t important.

Oh, hey, it's this thread again.

*retrieving stock answer*

Straight male here. I've run two male and two female Shepards all the way through the trilogy, with one female and two males (one of which is basically abandoned and another stalled) in progress.

Complete:
Nolan (canon): Colonist/Ruthless/Paragade/Infiltrator, None-Tali-Tali
Laura (canon): Colonist/SoleSurv/Paragade/Engineer, Kaidan-None-Kaidan
Jane: Spacer/Ruthless/Renegon/Vanguard, Liara-Garrus-Garrus
Jayne (as in Cobb): Earthborn/BigDamnHero/Renegon/Soldier, Ashley-Kelly/Jack/Miranda-None

In Progress:
Russ: Earthborn/WarHero/Paragade/Sentinel, Ashley-None-Ashley

Have never romanced Thane, Samara, Liara (ME3), Chobot, Cortez, or Traynor. May romance Jacob with the adept I'm working through ME2, but that one's stalled.

@MassivelyEffective0730 Why? Idk anyone up here or have anyone to just talk to or with. If me making threads is such a nuisance to everyone like this. If I get more than 10..no  5 likes on this I'll quit right now.

Oh, hey, it's this thread again.

Seriously, this guy is basically spamming threads that already exist in about a million different ways. Many of them in ways he already stated. He has 160 posts, many of them on threads that aren't very insightful or do more than beat a dead horse with another dead horse.

I guess MaleShep is my preference, but my canon is a FemShep who romances Kaidan (before Virmire :( ) and Thane just because I find that more interesting. I find it pretty hard to identify with Shepard anyway so it doesn't bother me too much.

You didn't enjoy his thread about Miranda and her benign neoplasm?

Hey, that in itself is innovation.

Usually, there's a stick involved.

Not really, considering the thread itself amounts to spam, and he dislikes a character for what has to be one the most mind-boggling reasons that exist. He's turning into a thread spammer. They usually get banned pretty quickly.

If he wants to post about a topic that interests him, then why not?

Because said threads exist, said threads have existed in numerous different forms, and it amounts to spam.

True.

Someone's gonna have to make a hulk-smash gif of that now. Just superimpose it over Loki.

My first playthrough in any RPG is almost always a hetero-male character (Which I am btw) but after that I experiment with different sexualities and genders.

Preferred Shepard:

- Male Shepard.
- Custom settings. (Different personalities, but they all look alike.)
- No preferences for orientation.

Why?

- If I'm going to stare at a character for hours/days I want to enjoy what I'm looking at.
- I prefer how Meer reads Shepard.

Leadership preference?

Gender and orientation are irrelevant to me; whether someone gains my respect and loyalty as a leader depends on their actions and how competent they are in the role.

Gay female here and I prefer playing Hetero Sheploo if only because the romance options are better. Though I do prefer Liara with femshep and have yet to romance her with broshep the opposite goes with Kaidan (if he's even alive).

In my mind male or female Shepard is Shepard. Also I like to think in 2186 a woman leading the charge would garner no more attention than a man.

Always FemShep.

1. I'm female so I do it for the immersion aspect.
2. You don't see alot of games outside of RPGs that feature a female protagonist. I have no need to play a male character when there are a billion other games I can do that.
3. Seeing strong female heroines is very empowering.

I like to play for immersion, not really into doing playthroughs with different paths just for the sake of experiencing different playthroughs (for example every playthrough would involve mostly paragon choices since I personally aspire to a paragon-esque personality) esp since everything can be viewed on YouTube.  Sooo since I am a mostly straight female and have the hots for Garrus, my FemShep is always with him.

Gay FemShep for me. As for leadership preferences, it doesn't really matter. Whoever is the most badass.
