I was just wondering this. Since I want to play a female Dwarf for my first playthough. But if she only gets romances I am not interested in I might have to change my mind. Just wondering if you think they will release it all or hold off for release.
Do you think we will learn all the LI and their oriantations before the game launches?

Part of me hopes not but at the same time i dont want to waste my time going after someone an entire playthrough just to find out they arent romanceable. It would ruin that playthrough, for me at least

No. Just because I don't get a romance for one person, will put me off from playing them.

They have already announced two, it seems a little odd to me that they would announce a few of them and then not any of the others. Unless this character is some really vague NPC that they do not want to reveal because it would spoil too much. Like, oh hey, you get to 'romance' Corypheus. ![]()

Of course some people don't like realism and others want to spoil themselves, that's fine, and if the devs do decide to show us I'll just avoid those threads.

The 2 they announced they didn't announce their orientation though.

These forums will be full of spoilers by the time we find out. So I guess I'll be finding out the hard way.
I hope not. I like to discover things on my own, you don't get to know a person's orientation immediately in RL (unless they're really overt), why should it be any different here?

I like the surprise as well, but generally I prefer knowing because of the way romance lock-ins work. RL is much more flexible, but in a Bioware game if I turn down a LI then I'm not likely to get another chance if the LI I originally wanted isn't available. Hopefully they'll make it a little more obvious in DAI, eg I can flirt with Cullen but he turns me down. That is so much less frustrating than waiting for a flirt option to appear for the entire game.

I hope so. I'd like to be able to work through my crushing disappointment before the game launches so my first playthrough will be fresh.
I 2nd this!
I'd like to know who my Inquisitor can and cannot romance in the game before I play it!

If they dont we can all watch people ragesplode on the forums about how they were denied Waifu's.
Then Gaider will get a text saying "Achievement Unlocked: Denier of Waifus" or something.
Really though it wont bother me if I cant romance a character, just adapt my rp or something.

I think if we learn them all, it would come from Jessica on the Community team or from the Devs themselves (with necessary approvals). The fact that DAI will have romances is the PR/Marketing beat. That is the sort of thing that gets mentioned in an article or on the back of the box, like "Dragon Age: Inquisition will have multiple romance options with a variety of partners and orientations" or whatever. Giving away a list of who and who they can romance is beyond PR/Marketing at that point as it doesn't really sell more or less copies. Selling copies is what PR/Marketing is all about (well, a major part anyways).
Who is a romance and whom they can romance IS a very important element to Community (because your existing hardcore fans care) and to the Devs themselves as they spent ages writing and caring about them. The best way to get the list (for those who want it) is to speak up on the BSN, Twitter, etc with Jess & the Devs like David Gaider.
Even then, you may not get it. Look at the replies in this thread. There are almost as many people who don't want to know ahead of time as want to know. Plus, as long as the Devs have made excellent romances and improved the way romances are activated (and I am confidant they have), they may want fans to discover it for themselves.
So, if you want them, ask (politely and repeatedly without being a pest about it). If you don't want them, say that (again, politely and respectfully). We'll see whogets what they want. ![]()

There's only one character I'm remotely interested in at this stage.
But I'm still waiting on confirmation that options will actually be equal.

I hope so because there's generally a point in the games where if you make the wrong decision the chance for the romance gets lost.

If it's like da2 where that's the case, then I agree.
If it's more like DAO where you can start then when and where you want for most of the game, then I don't mind them being a surprise.
