They could be in the same universe in your imagination, I suppose. Just pretend that Sir Roderick Ponce Von Fontlebottom the Magnificent Bastard came from Ferelden (after spending too much time in Orlais).

Maybe. I think Varric mentioned that Mirabelle was already taken when asked why he named his crossbow Bianca. I could be mistaken, however. It's been awhile since I've played DA2. Of course, this could be just a joke between the devs and both the JE and DA universe are separate. They're tricky like that, the devs.

There's a greater possibility of Dragon Age and Mass Effect being in the same universe...there's a statue of an Ogre from DAO in Kasumi's DLC.
Dragon Age is set a few thousand years before humanity discovered Prothean tech on Mars. Thedas is actually Canada and there's a Reaper War going on in space right now but no one on Thedas knows about it.

I was thinking that maybe EA, in the ME universe, also owns Galaxy of Fantasy and this is a collectible promotional maquette.
About Jade Empire and Bioware:
There was this fanfic plot bunny I was nursing around where the Jade Empire is in Thedas, located East (or maybe it should be west) of Tevinter, perhaps at the borders of the original homeland of the Kossith. This is why you have non-Qunari/Vashoth Kosith, locally know as ogres, working in the Jade Empire, like Zhong the Ox-Carrier. This is also why the Qun has elements of eastern philosophies-- the Qunari developed it from their contact with the Jade Empire.
Also, the Maker/Creators created the Dragons as his servants to act as guardians of the mortal races. 6 were embodiments of the elements (the traditional East Asian elements of Fire, Air, Earth, Water, Wood and Metal), and were tasked to watch over the East, while the other 6 were the embodiments of mortal virtues like Order, Silence, Service etc, and were given the West as their domain. Later on, Lung Huo, the Fire Dragon of the East, fell in love with Urthemiel, and joined the Western Pantheon, becoming known there as Toth, the Dragon of Fire.
The fanfic would've centered around the princess Sun Hua (a grown-up Wildflower, who was adopted by Empress Sun Lian and her consort, the last Spirit Monk), being sent as an ambassador to the West. Covertly, she has another purpose: the Water Dragon had appeared to her in a dream. One of their tainted brethren in the West had been reborn, without the corruption of the Tevinter magisters. It would be Sun Hua's task to find the OGB and ensure his safety. The other plot point would be that Chai Ka is still bonded to to Sun Hua's soul, and the Chantry and its Templars would consider her an abomination.

- Fenris: So who is "Bianca"?
- Varric: My crossbow. Say hello, Bianca.
- Fenris: But why Bianca? You must have named her after someone.
- Varric: Nope. Mirabelle was taken.
- Fenris: The way you fondle your weapon is disturbing.
- Varric: Hey! I'm a perfect gentleman. In public.
Now you can speculate all you like.

What, you didn't know?
Who do you think this is?
it's...
It all makes sense now doesn't it? the Eluvian is actually some sort of primitive, miniature mass relay that sent Morrigan to the Citadel where she lived out her dream of being a sculptor (thus explaining the existence of the Ogre statue) before returning to Thedas for the events of Inquisition.

It could be set in the same universe, but in another galaxy
I loved to play Jade Empire. Would be nice if Bioware could make a sequel of it. Especially with todays technology it could be even better than the original.

I've pondered this question a lot and the conclusion I come is this If the Jade Empire does exist in the same world as Thadas then it;s a different time period well after the dragon age perhaps a century or two. The reasons i come to this that no one in Thadas has heard or Or Encountered The Black Whirlwind who (spoiler alert) went a on round the world orgy of drink and violence thus proving the world was round at the end of the game, plus the weird foreigner you meet is not an Orlesian but could be a future ferelden maybe, especially since most of Thadas not counting the Qunari and the Dwarves have 11th to 12th century tech and this guy certainly had a blunderbuss

Sure if by universe you mean Jade Empire is on a planet in a galaxy far, far away while Thedas is on a planet in a galaxy slightly left of the super-massive blackhole.

We know Dragon Age and Mass Effect takes place in the same universe because Shepard visits Thedas' world (known as Presrop in his/her time which is now a desolate waste-land probably destroyed by the Fade Rift) and sees the moon from Dragon Age:

Nah, of course that's an easter egg too but it'll be amusing to think that the world of DA actually existed in the ME universe and that all the events are currently taking place as Shepard fights the Reapers.
Not to mention that the moons' surfaces are actually switched around in both universes. Indeed, their only similarity to one another is that they both share the "Great Rift valley" feature on their surfaces.

Well Jade Empire could be on another land mass though doubtful.

If the Dragon Age World and mass effect world would be connected, that would mean there is another world that is connected namely the sims! If you build a time machine from the generations expansion you can go to the future where you will hear about the shepard saving the galaxy from the reapers. So that would mean the Dragon Age would be connected too to the sims.
I would seriously doubt that would be true.

I didn't know the Sims included a reference. That's cool.
But yeah, they are all easter eggs. Nothing more.
