Why is the ME2 soundtrack so generic and boring?

Is Bioware abandoning the classic ME sound to capture the Micheal Bay crowd? Does this also explain the existence of shallow characters like Subject Zero? Part of the master plan of selling out?

It might be the change of tone they're going for. But if it bothers you you could always play the ME1 soundtrack while playing ME2 :D

ME2 music is supposed to match the events going on in game. You have no context for the music. Play the game before you pre-judge character also.

BRB, going to listen to the entire ME2 soundtrack and compare to the first.

Conclusion: OP hasn't bothered listening to the second soundtrack, and is full of s***.

It's a brilliant mixture of orchestral and digital/synth tracks, much like the first, except the second one is expanded and improved.

I'm normally loathe for calling out trolls on websites that aren't certain more infamous ones, but...

You're entitled to your opinions of course, but you will be pleasantly surprised when you actually explore Subject Zero's character.  She's not shallow by any means.

So don't you think that generic soundtracks are for generic works?

You haven't listened to the soundtrack, so I'm not sure where you're getting your nonsense from.

Doesn't take me much time to figure I'm dealing with a troll.

Don't worry yourself, I'm listening and I'm almost half-way through.  OP is full of himself.

Yea I'm disappointed too. I was expecting Miley Cyrus and Jonas Bros bumping while I roam around the Normandy. :(

I thought the OP said it was for Michael Bay fans: where's the linkin park?

Are we listening to the same soundtrack? I don't think so.

They're doing the closing credits song, obviously.

I'm listening to reflections right now (I'm guessing it's the love theme) and I think it's pretty good. Even though it is the sequel to Mass Effect (which had a great ST) it is also a different game and should have its own music.

Could you perhaps explain to us what it is about the sound track that seems generic to you? Or what it is about SuZe that makes her seem so shallow? Or for that matter what makes the ME1 soundtrack so classic? (I love the game but, IMHO, the sound track was not its strongest point. Good, but not that great)

An answer to one or more to these questions would be appreciated. That is if you can actually summon the mental capacity to actually post something that is not a transparent attempt at trolling the board. I doubt you can, but please by all means, prove me wrong.

My personal favorite track is when Mordin drops that sick freestyle over that beatbox loop. ILL is all I can say.

I dunno about you, but Normandy Reborn and Tali's theme are by far the best ones I've heard so far :D
