I've been thinking about it and couldn't they bring back Griffins because of the Tear in the Veil. It's unlikely but I think it would be pretty awesome. However I feel it would definitely be towards the end of the game, maybe in the last act there's reports of one then during the final mission you have to fly one to get to the final boss. I know it probably won't happen but I was wondering what other people where thinking.

I doubt we'll be seeing griffons.
That being said, I'd much rather see griffon mounts than dragon mounts.

It might just be me but Dragons just have much more of a presence than griffons ever will. Grey Wardens already own that image of being griffon riders, from what i know, Dragon riders are much less common therefore to me its much more pleasing if we were able to finally tame the beast

It would be an epic moment, but i'm sure we already have plenty of those in Inquisition, so probably not.
I'm pretty sure we'll see it in a future Dragon Age game though.

Why would the Breach result in the return of griffons?

There could also be hybernating eggs or something. It's fantasy, they can make up a number of reasons. Why put awesome griffins in the DA universe if they're not going to use them ![]()

The wait will make it even sweeter when they do pop up in a future DA game ![]()

Well it seems like the book "The last flight" will touch abit upon this subject. The Grey Wardens as a whole aswell ofc. It would be epic if there was a way for them to return.

Honestly I've never got the logic or removing interesting creatures from a fantasy game. Why would you do such a thing? It's like having a Lord of the Ring game but saying "Nope Elves and Dwarves are gone only humans are around now."
You should never limit your universe by removing things from the lore.

What? They haven't removed it. They're just extinct. They still existed in the universe once.

They'd better not resurrect them without a compelling reason for why they've been gone all this time
I think it has been said that they just died out.

I will only accept the reintroduction of griffons into thedas if we get to see Merrill react to it.

See little reason why there couldn't be a small hidden colony somewhere. It's hardly as if thedas is the modern world with satellites mapping every corner of the globe. Less sure about notion of veil tear returning them.
That's actually an excellent point. It's not like there is people everywhere in Thedas. There could be hiding a few of them in an uninhabited place.

I expect Griffons to return at some point, perhaps even in Inquisition, just not for the Inquisitor to ride.
Maybe in a future game we play as a Grey Warden again, and then we can ride Griffons.

I sure hope not. I hope we never play as a Grey Warden ever again.
