In all the Inquisition pictures we've had so far, there appears to have been a major redesign of high dragons.

All of the "main" dragons we'll see in the game will look very different apparently. They won't all look this way.

I would say a redesign.
Looks awesome though.

I personally go with the "It's a different breed" line of thought.

I think it's been said that the dragons would look different based on the environment they're in. Also they're attacks too iirc

Not doubting you but where was that said? I'd like to red that for myself because i was concerned we'd only see the same design over and over

I've heard it several times. I'll look for a link for you.
You've heard that every dragon is scripted and hand crafted yeh? Each one is gonna be unique. Including how they look.

Thats the thing i dont think it implied different looks, admittedly i thought so too but after seeing the same model in different locations, we might be out of luck on that:/

I think the reason they've been using the same model is they wanna keep how the rest of the dragons look a secret. Save it for the main game.

If they look different, I expect the differences will be minor, like skin tone or maybe a few extra ridges here or there.

“There will be multiple, different types of dragons with different breath attacks, elemental attacks...some dragons are more armored than others
,” Lee said. “That difference in elements, armor types, and properties of the dragon definitely inform how you approach them from a combat perspective. The team synergy, the party synergy, the difference in abilities in combat can strengthen your ability to fight this thing.”
So doesn't exactly say that they will look different, atleast not in this article. But i think we should expect that.

I think each dragon will have its own element

I thought that those new looking dragons were supposed to be a new form of them, more "high" than high dragons or something

I actually think we shouldn't expect it. That way if they are different, we are pleasantly surprised.

The horns are overkill. The best dragons I've seen have been in Reign of Fire and Dragon Slayer.

The Reign of Fire dragons are definitely my favorite version of the bat-like dragons.

Nothing is "overkill" BioWare designed them, they own DA.. They can make them how they want.

Lets hope you're right but ultimately ill be satisfied either way, its not a big deal to me, i love this design anyways. Plus i wouldnt care in slightest if we could ride them

A dragon mount would be amazing, but i doubt BioWare has the time to implement being able to fly around the regions.
I think a wyvern is more plausible, they can't fly, but they're still dragon-y

I also doubt there will be completely new models for each type of dragon. Recolours are to be expected (the desert dragon looked orangish and the one OP posted is pale green, although that could be due to the lighting).

I like the dragon in the screenshot, including the horns.
It kind of looks dinosaurian.

I wouldnt want a flying mechanic, waste of time in my opinion, with emphasis this time around being on traveling and having a presence in the world, it would be an awesome means of fast travel having a small cut-scene where you hop on it and it flies away and it would also be cool to have people ask you about your new pet. It be cool if it reacted to the companions like "Dog" did in DA:O while in the party camp.
Just wishful thinking more than anything though:/

I don't really like the new redesign (if it is one, which I think is very likely) IMO.

Not surprised.. ![]()

That's actually a really cool idea. I hope BioWare does that now ![]()
Would be tough to get all the companions on it i think lol.
