Its some impressive sounding competition DAI is up against, but this game has one very significant advantage over the others, and it's simple.  It's going to be a better game, and probably a much better game.  That's not a knock on those other games, and as a gaming fan I hope the others are quite good also, but from everything we know about DAI it's almost certain to be the Game of the Year.  All they have to do to neutralize their competition is make sure that at least one or two of the major game review sites gets a copy nice and early, so everybody already knows that the game is awesome before the games come out, and folks will choose this game over the others, and of course that's going to happen, so there's nothing to worry about.  This is going to be the best, and best selling, game in Bioware history, the competition won't change that.

Those are some mighty bold predicitions there. :P

Hardly. The real contender was delayed to next year.

Does not matter when they release because there will always be ppl like yourself who will come and quote DA2 an ME3 an the apparent universal dislike/hate for both games, say Bioware/EA are in financial difficulty and say Bioware are on there last legs due to said last 2 games.

Even if DA:I is 100% bug free the biggest seller in gaming history and touted as being the best RPG ever to grace computers, ppl will still hate an quote all the above

Obsidian's releasing Pillars of Eternity roughly around that time.  That's the only fantasy rpg due out I'm aware of.

Probably not a big threat to the game in general.  But it's certainly a competitor for my time  :D

Well, I'm really only looking forward to dai game. I checked out the info on the alien game and it's really not my cup of tea. Like everyone else here LOTR game? Batman asylum, looks interesting but it seems like it will be more of the same, just better graphics. Although it seems you can use the batmobile for this game.
Dragon age inquisition will be on 4 console and PC, they have a great chance of selling great numbers alone because of that. Oh and because it will be a glorious game!!! :)

I just realized Sunset Overdrive is set for "Fall 2014". Hopefully there's enough berth between it and DAI or I'm going to be struggling to play both.

that's supposed to be in august, I think.

Anyway, for me its going to be everything else that gets pushed off for DA instead of the other way around.

......

Ok.....let's start from the top.

Look I didn't mind DA2, and I disliked a lot of things about ME3, but I still play the game. But I'm sorry, put your prejudice and love for Bioware aside, the amount of people who disliked those games is a lot more than 0.01%

No, it's really not.

And by the way, I'm part of the 0.01% who didn't like DA2 and thought ME3 was a step back, so who'd prejudiced now?

Well, my preorder for DA I is in already, and frankly, I'd never heard of those other games.  I'm sure I'm in the minority there, but there it is.

PoE is releasing late 2014, around December.

I don't know how the people who decide the release dates for games think since I'm just a simple dude from Mississippi but I think it's either a coincidence or a show of confidence.

Don't worry about it. None of the games being released on that day come close to Inquisition. Unless they're a fan of that specific genre, I doubt people would have a hard time choosing between Inquisition and all those games being at the same price point.

The real threat to Inquisition gets released in February so it's all good. I bet EA let out a sigh of relief when the news of Witcher 3 getting postponed arrived. When I heard the news myself, I was like "Aw, that would've been a great show to watch".

Just in time for me. I've been sitting on my hands waiting on a good selection of games before upgrading to a next-generation console. Dragon looks like it's in position to be the first of that crop.

@fortlowe I'm in the same boat, I was going to buy the xone for eso but since the game was pushed to December, it looks like I will get the xone for dragon age inquisition.

Do you have anything to back up your claim that the people who disliked those games are less than 0.01% of those who bought it? The only rough estimate on Dragon Age 2's lifetime sales I was able to find, shows that it sold over 2.5 million units. Do you understand that 0.01% of 2.5 million is 250? You're saying out of 2.5 million people, under 250 people didn't like the game. Do you realize how asinine that sounds? You are SO off base with this it's actually scary that you think this way.

IDK there are a lot of Witcher fans out there and a lot of them are really vocal about their love. :P I've never seen the appeal myself.

Does it really  matter? Even if I give you 150% of the install base as "Disliking Dragon Age 2" you still have no argument.

of course if you ask the haters 0% liked da 2 and anyone who says otherwise is lying.

personally while da 2 has it's strong points alot was wrong with was the lack of time given. this is not the case with da I. of every game listed in this thread I'm only planing on getting one, you have 3 guesses which one and the first two don't count.

Which argument are you referring to? My OP or the whole 0.01% thing? If it's the OP then I could care less, because if anything I want to be proven wrong on that because I want DA:I to sell well.

Nah it's in the perfect release window right now and has minimal competition in October, there's a few games before, around and after it releases that'll draw some interest but other than Batman Arkham Knight I don't see to much that would effect sales.

Considering they're releasing it on multiple platforms, they have very little competition after they release and the fact that the witcher got pushed back I don't see them having much trouble selling the game unless it fails horribly which seems unlikely considering how well it's shaping up so far.

The multiple platforms thing is a fair point, I'd forgotten Batman: AK is next gen only.

I don't think ME3 and DA2 will have nearly as negative an effect on DA:I as people on this forum may suspect.
