After going through GTA 5 and Second Son... I think I've had my fix of non-RPG city themed open-worlds for quite some time. Maybe when it's 20$.

Seriously barely any of them contain any goodies, which is why you should buy the damn things in the first place.

Honestly the amount of delays is what killed my enthusiasm. The 5 billion collectors editions just double tapping it.

^This, except I don't care much for the million versions of it since I already stopped caring prior.
At the least, it saved me money.

Looks interesting. Don't like the sound of forced stealth and instant-failure stuff TB mentioned. I had enough of that frustrating sh*t in AC4. Still, I'll probably end up getting the game anyway. Can't wait for Yahtzee's review.
I thought I took care of you Kassidy

So has anyone played it?
I'm trying to decide between picking it up for my XB1 or getting GTA V for my X360

Concurs with Para-Soul - Looking forward to Yahtzee Croshaw's review of this one given he was originally interested in it.

It's not a bad game. Actually it is quite good, but it certainly does not live up to the hype. I would not even say that it's a next gen title. It is more like a highly advanced last gen one (and not the best of its generation). It's an AC game in a modern setting.
EDIT and Ps.: F
ck Uplay. I hate that thing.

I watched some videos and I couldn't be helped but to notice how the visual style looks inferior to the early demos. Fewer light and ambient effects, cars looks more simplistic, just not as good all around. Even on the PC version. Still, I'm sure is an good game, but it didn't blow me away the same way when I first watched the first demo.

From what I can tell its a solid game. Much like Wolfenstein. Nothing ground breaking and nothing truly new. Yet a fun game regardless.
I read a comment I think on Giant Bomb that said its like the first Assassins Creed, all the elements are there, they just haven't hit the spot yet. Hopefully any future sequels will really nail it. Also on a personal note after watching Total Biscuits video, why is there so much focus on gun play? What made this game stand out was its reliance on hacking. I think intimidation from other sandbox games here has made them unsure where to focus.

Yes, yes you are :]
On topic. I started playing yesterday and hit about 3 hours mark. Game looks good, but NOWHERE NEAR what UBI promised. Besides that its a BADLY optimised port, GPUs struggle really hard for RAM and fps drops like a m*********r. Imagine 120-30fps drops. Now what few of my friends from witcher forums noted, those drops and stuttering in general seems to lessen when you play OFFLINE.
Now theres a big mistery, since when online/offline have an impact on fps that badly? I know not.
Game looks fine, and I can run it with high visuals (custom - I lowered aniso to FXAA and shadows and reflectinos to medium) range on my phenom II X4 970, GTX460, 8GB ram machine. Surprising, right?
It feels populated more or less untill now, so theres a plus. But the AI goes mad sometimes, like police cars patroling streets try to take an U turn, enter pavement and roll over pedestrians. PROTECT AND SERVE AT ITS FINEST lol... well, maybe its not as unbelivable as I thought it to be :/
It feels like Assassins Creed at times though, just in modern clothes. The whole freeroaming is so native to AC that I couldnt stop drawing conclusions on similarity. Profiling and hacking peolple is just pickpoketing. Stopping a crime - it always takes place conveniently near hackable objects that you can overload and take down the culprit. Its just the little things.
I gotta tell you I like the npc's so far. They are unique and unforgetable (more or less). With a "character". I like that.
So, is it next gen? HARDLY, imo.
Just some of my first impressions

I think I'm going to really enjoy using the city to assist during high speed chases. Already had a blast changing the colour of traffic lights. Take that coppers!
