I got a copy of this (fortunately, it was free, as someone got it for me as a gift), and it's not running too good. I've got a very old graphics card (Radeon HD 5850), but I'm running the game on pretty low settings, to the point where the game looks graphically inferior to Alpha Protocol, an Unreal Engine III-based game that came out in 2010. Even so, when I run the game the fans in my computer just go crazy. Not good at all.

Ok then...
Rate it with x/10 scoring, based on your first impressions and the few/several hours of gameplay you've had.

It's not an awful game but it does not feel special either, I am not all that interested in continuing my Watch Dogs experience at the moment, I much rather play old PS3 games than revisit Aiden Pierce and his world.

Reviews should absolutely be available pre-launch of a game.

Or you could not pre-order.

Kotaku Review. Pretty much sums up my admittedly brief Watch Dogs experience so far ( I've only played it for about an hour or two ). Wish this review was available before I bought it. God damn review embargoes.

Wow. I don't know if I should feel glad I haven't bought it or sad that so many AAA titles seem to be more hype than substance these days.

Yep. In this case I pre-ordered because I saved $20, normally I don't bother even if I plan to pick the game up day one.

I don't understand why people had high hopes for this game, Ubisoft flat out said they wanted it to be another cash cow. Not exactly a mindset that breeds innovation. Personally I'm enjoying it so far, it has its own little things unique to it. I love using the city to aid in my escapes. The AI is pretty bad though. LOL.

It looks entertaining, has some slick ideas, but isn't quite in legendary status. I'd definitely rent it, but $60 is a bit much.

Yeah general consensus is that it's a good game. Not great but decent which is kinda disappointing.

So glad I passed this one. Another hype job that failed to meet expectations.

Question, can an ATI HD 4890 run this?
They list the minimum card as Radeon HD 5770, yet Game-Debate tells me my 4890 can run it :-/

I bought it on a whim because I was getting tired of Thief. I haven't played it yet but you guys aren't making me feel like it was a good buy?

It's more about the DirectX support of your graphic card. If it can run DirectX 11 you can play it... even on 15 frame per second.

So 5770 does.
Surprisingly it has almost the same specs as my GTS 250!
But it seems series 4000 doesn't:

I'd take all reviews with a grain of salt. Your enjoyment level might be completely different to someone else's.
I think I'll actually pick this game up once I get my ps4. Chicago is my hometown... I can see myself having a lot of fun wreaking virtual havoc around the city.

At some point when the game is cheaper and I own a PS4 I might give this a try. Never been hyped, but I think I'd have some fun with it.
I liked Child of Light, anyways. First Ubisoft game I bought in about 3-4 years or so. I chose to just ignore the ridiculous DLC available from the start, though...

I just finished this game, and I am impressed. I would say, the story is okay, but its really the gameplay and mechanics that got me. I loved the hacking, the stealth, the driving and the shooting. I really appreciated having an open world that was a bit more serious than GTA and Saints Row. Watch Dogs does a great job of building up to a very dark hero character type, it is like a great mix of Batman and Punisher.

Basically Assassin's Creed in modern age.
