So the general consensus seems to be the game did a lot right, but a lot more things wrong or needed more improvement, with a lot of minor inconveniences adding up to irritate players?
The E3 2012 vs. Release video is pretty funny.

Is this game a stripped down rehash of Assassin's Creed like I keep hearing it is?
^ No, But it does have assassins creed similarities like parkour and detection system. Review:I beat Watch Dogs almost 2 weeks ago it is a great game i loved the story, the characters, and the gameplay. Graphics didn't look as good as they did at E3 but i can forgive that i don't give a **** about graphics. I give the game a 8.5/10 one of the flaws it had atleast on the pc was crash errors which happened me a little over 5 times.
I'm about halfway through. It's better than Prototype, but not quite up to Assassins Creed Snuff. The hacking system sets it fairly far apart from other games - in combat, it feels a bit like either Deus Ex: HR or even Bioshock Infinite, where the environment can be triggered in your favor from a distance. I'd estimate the story section itself takes about 20 hours, and a buttload more based on optional stuff. Is this game a stripped down rehash of Assassin's Creed like I keep hearing it is?
A surprise for the pc gamers.

Here you can find a mod that makes the game look like it did at E3. It will also improve the FPS.

This is beyond stupid... we've reached a point where they not only release crappy ports with horrible DRM but they actually work on making them look and run like **** on purpose just so XBone/Weakstation 4 don't look so ridiculously outdated.
They're giving both consumers and developers the middle finger and some people still wonder PC gamers are bitter, they have every fraking reason to be.
This is how the real PC version of Watch_Dogs looks (while running vastly better than the downgraded version):

Please end this madness guys, stop buying Ubishit.
I don't know whether or not I should laugh at this.
Get the games promised graphics, there all along, by changing a few numbers in a .ini file
Spider Tank, Spider Tank, does what ever the **** it wants

...welp, might actually play the game now.

This is Ubisoft not downgrading Watch_Dogs:

Please understand.
Clearly, they wanted you to do that.
After all, this is a game about hacking, wouldn't make sense for you to have to hack in order to truly achieve the full potential of the game?
No, I'm not serious, but it does make some kind of twisted sense.
And really Xbone and Weakstation? What are you, a third grader?

Nah just disappointed, I didn't expect "next gen" consoles to have such weak hardware.
I was thinking about switching to console gaming just a year ago but they dropped the ball this time.

Granted, I had a ton of fun hacking peoples' bank accounts and screwing up streetlights, but it wasn't what I'd call a true "RPG"
You thought Watch Dogs was a RPG?

I can agree with this sentiment, but think that it's not necessarily a bad thing, I mean, look at how much they achieved graphically and hardware wise with the X360 and PS3's cycle.
I don't like how it holds the PC back, but I like to see the interesting working with what they got mentality when programming things like that.
Those techniques are what drives new coding languages and ultimately makes games on the PC run smoother down the long run.
As long as they don't hold the PC back. I know I bought the inferior hardware when I bought a X1-
Oh god, I just hope they aren't holding it back on the consoles too. Clearly not as much as the PC, but there is the chance.

Both 360 and PS3 were very powerful boxes at release, around two times more powerful than XBone/PS4 (in comparison of course).
Taking a closer look at this particular file, we can see that the ‘float3 upperColor’ command has special values for Xbox One. Ubisoft has lowered the settings of this particular setting on Microsoft’s console. Therefore, the ‘This is PC, who cares’ comment is obviously a comment indicating that the PC version does not need such workarounds or limitations.

I don't know. I think the industry is held back by the massive amounts of money it takes to publish games nowadays. Nobody is willing to take chances (with major releases at least.)
Best mini-game in Watch Dogs, though "Madness" was pretty fun for a while. Could've used better objective variety, but it was still a blast.Spider Tank, Spider Tank, does what ever the **** it wants
S'got elements of it, but most wouldn't toss it in that category. You thought Watch Dogs was a RPG?

Downloading this tomorrow... word.
I don't get it.
So was this hidden graphic taken from PC gamers (as revenge) or was reserved as a surprise for them (as gift)?
Well...I can confirm the mod makes the game look better. With all the extra reflective properties, rainy nights looks pretty sexy.

Performance is improved, but still spotty here and there. It's playable now, though.
Thank the Maker for modders.
