I just found this script for Watch Dogs. Maybe those of you who've played it can tell me how accurate it is.

I like it. It's not great. But definitely one of those games you take your time with. Doesn't have that gripping story that you will make you want to beat it in a week. The hacking is a pretty fun spin to the average open world game, but it all gets repetitive as ****. I think it's in between above average to good and that's where it stops.

I agree with that. Entertaining enough, but nothing really that special.
Considering he was as well recieved as a brick to the face, I'm not surprised.
I'm lagging 2+ years behind UbiSoft games, because they deserve the bargain bin treatment, so I'm about to hit AC III soon and enjoy the UbiSoft protagonist blandness.
Ezio, Haytham, Edward, Sam Fisher.
C'mon.
Sam Fisher is pretty much swimming in generic inexplicably tough guy tropes with lame wise-cracks, like Nathan Drake only he's killed less foreigners than the latter, and Ezio.. hah, that's rich.
Haytham and Edward were alright but Sam fisher is just moderately handsome white male military operative number 734 and Ezio is a generic italian stereotype formed from someone at ubisoft watching too much Zorro.

But... Ezio is italian...
And Zorro is like... mexican.
Y u do dis.
Yes soooooooo. That doesn't make him any less of a generic stereotype.
Spoiler
In other news:
Too edgy for you Chris.
Yes soooooooo. That doesn't make him any less of a generic stereotype.
But how can he be a stereotype when they're not even from the same culture?
Oh i didn't explain things properly sorry. Ezio is a stereotype because he is a naive rich pretty boy who every female character loves for inadequately explained reasons. I was just making a comparison to Zorro since their backstories are near identical.

Bought this game about 4 weeks ago, taken into the general craze. Man, I so regret it.
And can someone explain to me why Aiden Pearce's outfits are so terrible? Who is the responsible designer on this?
He is made to look like a f*cking HOBO. Nothing to do with a vigilante or hero.
I can only imagine the potential of Watch Dogs applied to The Punisher franchise.
I completed the game recently, and want to repeat here what I've said on Ubisoft forums:
First of all, I want to say thanks to developers for creating such a good game. I completed campaign recently on my PS4. I believe the story is the most important part of any AAA game nowadays, especially when the story has serious philosophical questions to ask (even if they asked in the very ending of the game). I like the Watch Dogs story, and I see great potential for the future sequels. But there is a major flaw in the story, flaw that bothers me too much to give the game very high rating... Please, let me explain.
The flaw, or better to say flaws, I'm talking about are the parts of the story where you are saving Nikki and attempting to save Clara. Don't worry, I'm not trying to suggest any pure happy ending here, because I understand that drama can't have “disney ending”. So, what's wrong with the mentioned parts of the story? The problem is that Nikki's rescue quest (I mean when you actually rescue her and escort out of the town) was too rushed, sudden, and easy, while the useless attempt to save Clara was too forced, predictable, and poorly executed. This created a huge dissonance in the end. Like the ending was not thought out well enough. Like it was rushed due to development time limit. The flaws exist, but I believe there is a quite easy way to fix them both, and in the process make the ending even more dramatic.
Here is what I want to suggest. Remember the chess trick, where you can place your figure to target two (or even three) opponent's figures at the same time without putting any of your own figures in danger? In this case opponent has to sacrifice one of targeted figures in order to save the other one. And if the figures are both very valuable, the chose opponent is going to make will be really hard. This is the point – Aiden vs Damien conflict started as a chess masters' duel, but ended up as some silly children game. Too easy, too predictable, and too linear. I believe that in order to fix that, quest about saving Nikki and quest about saving Clara should be merged into one quest with two objectives, plus improved in terms of difficulty, execution quality, and possible outcome. Eventually, when player completes one part of this merged quest – the remaining part automatically fails. Meaning if you saved Clara, then Nikki dies, and vice versa. Also, meaning that Damien is really smart opponent till the end, not someone who gives easy opportunity to ruin his plans and than uses easy opportunity to revenge.
Such fix will not require too much resources, and also may provide an interesting opportunity for a sequel. There is no need to make one of the mentioned choices cannon, or make a save import feature to support the next story, of course. The sequel should have feature to choose between two playable characters: Clara and Aiden. If you chose to play as Clara, then Nikki is considered dead, while if you chose to play as Aiden, then Nikki is considered disappeared from Aiden's life forever and Clara is considered dead. The story of the sequel should be the same no matter who will you chose to play, only few voice-overs' contents will be different depending on who you chose to play, Clara or Aiden. Yes, that will require two voice actors for voicing the protagonists, but it will be amazing to have the possibility to play as Clara in addition to play as Aiden. Also, this could fix another original game problem. In Watch Dogs, Aiden is a "jack-of-all-trades". Gunplay, survivability, stealth, perfect driving skills, all in one person, which is quite boring. In the sequel huge difference between playing as Clara and playing as Aiden could be in the gameplay itself: Clara could be better in hacking and stealth, and Aiden could be better in front line combat and survivability.
...Yes, as you may have noticed, I like Clara character very much. In fact, I like her much more than Aiden, and I think many players have the same opinion. Clara character gives very good opportunities for storytelling in the Watch Dogs sequels. Especially if she will be the protagonist, or one of the possible protagonists.
I really hope this feedback may help to make Watch Dogs IP better. This game has great potential. Especially in terms of storytelling.
I see where you're coming from, and I agree the game had potential, and maybe the IP could be better in the future if they choose to continue it.
I'll only say, I thought the Nikki recuse mission was executed fine, and actually enjoyed that level. But the I 100% agree with Clara, very poorly executed.
Ezio, Haytham, Edward, Sam Fisher.
C'mon.
Forgetting Sergeant Rex Powercolt, shame on you.
I may get it once it goes for real cheap on steam. Otherwise, just from watching bits and pieces and reading things about it, it doesn't catch my interest really.
Well, I've given up on this game. I'm just not getting anything out of playing it, shame really, it's not a bad game, my hearts just not in it, it does nothing for me. I'll be trading it in a.s.a.p.
Thanks to all the sales records that the game broke for Ubisoft a sequel is pretty much guaranteed, it will be interesting to see what the next game in the series will be like given all the negative fan feedback.
The original Assassins Creed had massive amounts of potential but it also did nothing for me, Ubisoft went back to the drawing board and created Assassins Creed 2 one of the most loved games in the franchise.
This pretty much happens with all of Ubisoft's launch titles lol
But they do have a good track record of vastly improving for the sequel
