How come one can kill those mighty shield-wearing soldiers with full frontal GPS shots?

Is it going through the mail slot?

Claymore (acutally any hard hitting shot gun), Harrier, Lancer etc. accurate firearm is death for the guardians. Actually whenever I see a guardian, and I am storming my GI Claymore, I exclaim "Oh, bonus points!" since they are one shot kill.
Mods for Shotgins: Shotgun High-Velocity Barrel  (personal favorite) or Shotgun Shredder Mod , makes the guardian's shield useless.
Same thing goes for Assault Rifle Piercing Mod/Assault Rifle High-Velocity Barrel or any shield pearcing bonus like drill rounds or armor piercing rounds<- (though keep in mind that not all weapons are affected by the penetration buff of the rounds).

Other means:
Acolyte pistol, aim at feet or use the walls to make an angle shot.
Geth plasma shotgun with no mods: aim at feet like UT/Quake's rocket launcher.

Stun them + headshot. It's what I do with my Vanguard every time.

 

With my juggy, I just anhiliate them with the Harrier + High Velocity Barrel

Maybe my post was unclear. It is straightforward to kill guardians with the GPS. I was just wondering how it did.

As Loufi wrote, one of the balls is probably going through the slot.

I think they get staggered by one of the projectiles and some of the others may or may not get by.. bc it's inconsistent. I kill them without aiming at the mailslot.

On a related note, why doesn't Cerberus build their Atlases to be armored with whatever material that shield is made of?  That stuff is amazing.

Nah, I use in fact my Hurricane against Guardians. I knock them back, then I put a few quick rounds in their faces. It's like eating pistachios!
