Well, to get a balanced view you also have to take into account that English is not the OP's first language. I don't think that covers that he phrased the post in a manner presumptive of guilt, but all the same, one needs to make some reasonable allowance.

I might agree with that if his second post wasn't tryhard.avi. Also, all of his posts show he knows how to use English.

I wouldn't take the OP very seriously- I certainly wouldn't avoid using Recon Mine just because somebody whined about it on BSN. Recon Mine is a great power, and I really can't think of any reason why you WOULDN'T want to throw one out practically every cloak cycle. Is it sometimes annoying when one blows up in your face and you momentarily can't see because of the smoke? Sure. But take two steps in any direction and the problem is solved, and the impressive AoE damage and debuff is more than worth some occasional visibility issues.

AH! this ^ is the guy that tried to fry me in the Reactor and failed epically! LOL! I was in the Reactor btw.

I see why the OP was replying every post now.... 'newbie' remind me of myself when I first arrived. Although, it didn't take me long to figure out when to leave and let leave  :) I mean no one told me, I figured it out. You can say i learned from experience BL2 Forums  :D

I still have this nagging question though... what are you doing standing around my Recon Mine? I mean if am going to detonate it, it would be to kill enemies and you should not be that close to them to the extent that it will bother you or get you killed unless you were consorting with the enemy and in that case "serve you right".

If am confronted by a group of phantoms and dragoons, of course, am going to blow the mine in their faces over and over again. Or Atlas is providing cover for smaller units, trust me it's spamming time. I do debuff when I have a good distance between me and the enemies if not.... boom boom boom.

I don't spec homing nades on my Drell Inf so that's the only power I have am sorry am going to be detonating it a lot.

Thank you.

Peace!!!!

There is a 3 second window between setting down the recon mine and being able to detonate it, and its very obvious where the mine is because of the scanned enemies. You have enough time to get out of the way. If you were on top of the mine then that was your fault it blew up in your face,

You could challenge him to fite u IRL to see who's more manly.

Seriously, are you guys getting this hung up because one likes recon mines and one doesn't? If you compared notes on why you both like ME3 you'd find you had ten times as much stuff in common as you disagree on.

Go on, break the pattern of constant conflict on BSN, make peace and act friendly. Let's have some change in here.

Can't tell if serious...  :?

Can't tell if serious...  :?

The first suggestion is not serious, although it was the approach you adopted last week when you disagreed with someone....

The second part is serious. WTF is the great attraction of permanent conflict on this poor benighted forum?

It was the second part that I questioned. Are you really serious about thinking that we who post in this thread are serious? Maybe a few are, but most are probably just having a bit of a laugh as always.

Now, get lost PUG!

You should blame BioWare, they made it... and it didn't help putting it on an infiltrator....

Claiming that one is being nasty all in good fun is a rather old cover tactic, and was probably old in the days of the Minoan civilization.

You see, there are people here being a little mean to add an edge, and there are others simply being flat out nasty, and using the others as cover.

Doesn't it ever get tiresome? To read or to do?

Recon Mine is awesome.

Trolling on the internet is corny. Go outside and talk to people that way IRL if you think it's funny.

Yeah, I'm new, I was born yesterday, I have never seen an internet forum, this is the first video game I ever played, and everything that's argued here is novel, being expressed for the first time in the history of the universe.

(End sarcasm.)

No. I've been around the internet since I had to explain what it was, since the days when it was always capitalised.

"Things have to be done this way, because they've always been done this way."  How many times have we all been told this? Do we see this as the height of good sense, or as a challenge to make things better?

Or to put it another way, you take great, obvious, and - in my opinion - perfectly justified - pride in the fact that you developed your abilities at ME3 to become one of the best of the best. so why does that drive to be better fall at the wayside when it comes to the way we all treat each other? And does it have to be that way? what if we decided to change it right here, right now, in this small little discussion forum called BSN? What effect might that have?

What the **** are you talking about? I'm starting to believe that you are trolling....

Who the hell cares about being "best of the best" and having developed "abilites" in a video game?

Seriously bro, get a life.

I an totally in disagreement with OP too. If I use recon mine (DAI) I spam it. It is just too good not to.

But soon the entire thread descented into mocking him. I totally understand how it is Internet and OP is taking this way too seriously. He bragged, challenged and was mocked. Though...OP admitted to not understanding sarcasms and jokes because of cultural differences as he is Non-English speaking part of the world (Sweden). And this being his first ever post in the forum. He misunderstood jokes, reacted by challenging 1to1 duel and all went haywire from there.

Way too many from the anglo-saxon (english speaking part of the world) culture totally fail fathom that others (non English speaker like the OP) probably sometime do not understand them. It is assumed and expected we know your slangs, local vocabularies and what not. Hell after months on BSN even I dont understand what epeen-thread is. And when to put lol as prefix to anything. Neither did i made any effort to understand it. Must I?

Being the lingua-franca of the world so many are unaware of the privileges. He did sound hurt, mentioned cultural differences. Plea was ignored and people kept pouncing on him. Him being a Swede (I live here too), I think he is scared from the forum for good. And no I do not know him.

To be clear, I am not  defending him on bragging etc. But the fact that all had completely disregarded his pledge that misunderstanding might be because of him being not from US-UK-Canada etc, made me write this.

I know you meant that humorously, but at this stage in the thread, where I have been trying repeatedly to engage the human side of ALIAS(dumdum) and all he can even imagine is that I'm trolling him, and the only way he can imagine is to respond in hostile cliches (and he writes English as if he understands it well, so it can't be that)...well, I begin to fear that your statement may be literally true.

And now, back to mocking everyone for everything, business as usual.

It is as true as it was in the movie.

BSN at it's most toxic state doesn't hold a candle to some gaming forums. And this is kind of the Dr Phil version of BSN these days; we once had Jerry Springer in the old days where people were throwing chairs at each other metaphorically before Ninja Stan had to come in and hose everyone down.
