Well I don't claim to know what motivated people to vote for EA, when you prioritise the ending of a video game over issues like, say, the employment and abuse of child workers by companies that base their manufacturing in third-world countries, I think it's a safe bet that business ethics are not your primary concern.

I'm not saying there were right for picking EA over say Bank of America, but it was done because it was an internet poll and the gaming community wanted to show their unhappiness with the company. It is still completely insulting and underhanded to claim that people did so primarily because of homophobia.

Well this thread seems to have gone down to the sexuality argument again.

Yes, that is insulting. The gaming community is a beautiful and varied tapestry of prejudices, and they all deserve equal acknowledgement.

Tell me, person who believes in the existence of an "LGBT Agenda": what does a "well-written" gay look like?

There aren't many but Arcade Gannon from Fallout:NV was pretty good, just because there is a lack of gay characters doesn't mean that bioware is good at writing them though.

Yes, the only significant reason people found fault with the company is because of prejudices.

You have a godawful persecution complex, Plantiff.

I'm confused. This must be a baiting thread to try and rile up people because it does very simple targets towards fireing up fans of Bioware and Dragon Age in general. Certainly when most of the whole listing part is entirely based on opinion rather then anything factual and all about personal taste.

I don't think there's much of a point to this thread other then bait? Why is this a thing?

Mass Effect 3 was not a disaster, it is in my opinion the best game i've ever played, it was an excellent game in an excellent series. The ending was dissapointing, but it did not spoil the whole experience, and the vocal minority (argue all you want it WAS a vocal minority) who hated the ending so much it ruined the entire franchise for them are mainly degenerates, people with social dispositions, young people who don't know any better, or trolls.

DA 2 wasn't terrible, it was dissapointing, it was not as good as origins, and thus it is looked upon as a disaster simply because the previous game was superior, which is fair enough.

Frankly asking loaded questions like this doesn't help the community or your own state of mind when going into a new experience, you should approach things like this with some aprehension sure but judge it on it's own merrits and not think about whats come before.

Why? What about Arcade Gannon made him well-written?

And what makes you, a presumably straight person who accuses the LGBT community of having an "agenda", at all qualified to critique the quality of gay characters?

I know this is entirely subjective but it seems that the new companion lineup is very weak, the only characters who hold my interest are Varric and the Cassandra, but she still got the manjaw treatment

I honestly don't think we know enough about the new lineup to judge fully, yet, whether they're interesting, imo. Mostly it's just been pictures and brief descriptions so far. Also, I don't mind Cassandra's jaw at all, but that's just opinion.

1) And that is just a bandwagon mentality. A lot of publishers do the same exact thing as EA but yet EA gets the most amount of flak for it and when Valve does the same thing they are applauded for it. And it should be about the game not the publisher. If a game is good, it is good, publisher be damned.

But EA is literally the worst, they killed the DA franchise, Battlefield 4 is unplayable because EA rushed DICE and the premium bullshit is getting out of hand and they only have 10 tickrate servers. Dungeon keeper was recently killed as well.

  1. They said that they wanted to give it the open world feel of Skyrim not that the want the audience

That seems to be Bioware's problem. Always trying to be someone else, always thinking that neighbor's grass is greener. Too bad...

I didn't even say that the gaming community voted against EA out of prejudice, merely that the gaming community is bursting with prejudices of every kind.

Definition of literally in English:
literally Line breaks: lit|er¦al¦ly
Pronunciation: /ˈlɪt(ə)rəli

/
ADVERB
  • 1In a literal manner or sense; exactly:the driver took it literally when asked to go straight over the roundabouttiramisu, literally translated ‘pull-me-up’
  • 1.1• informal Used for emphasis while not being literally true:I have received literally thousands of letters

What did I do wrong?

Again, it is mainly opinion. People love to say they have killed off companies instead of admitting the games created by the companies they bought were simply crap due to bad ideas. For example, people claim that EA killed Mythic whereas Mythic likely killed itself. Warhammer was a crappy game, from its foundation which has got nothing to do with EA whatsoever. People claim EA forced them to release too early but Mythic were the ones who came up with a too short development time for their game and EA even gave them one extra year.

And how was Dungeon Keeper killed? Sure, the last game sucks but should this then mean everything that came before it is automatically killed as well (this applies to any game franchise)? It sounds more like you have an agenda, you just love to hate EA and no matter what anyone tells you won't change your mind anyway. You have clearly already made up your mind that Dragon Age Inquisition will be a mediocre game. So then what is the point in your main question?

Contributed to the bastardisation of the English language. That second definition only exists because of people like you.

Literally now means figuratively. What a world we live in.

okay to answer the OP's original question I think there is a chance that DAI could be good, in fact I think it's likely. That said, I'm the kind of guy who thinks almost anythings possible, I mean theoretically speaking there's a chance that the next call of duty could be good.

Ok back I go. *reabandon thread*

sad.

The best advice I could give you OP is to check the reviews all over the interwebness. There's no need to feel nervous about Inquisition dough. They've been given a lot of time and they seem really confident! base on tweets alone xD

This is just a overly critical troll thread, the fact that 1 of the reasons he gives for Inquisition being terrible is BW pushing the "gay agenda" in peoples faces should be a clue :?

I see many reasons for optimism.

Took the time to get it right.

More open-world feel.

I like the dialogue wheel.

DA2 was not awful it just wasn't DAO and (really) over-used the few locations it had.
ME3 wasn't awful, it just rushed the ending to a fine game, and you all know about that...

Including different people, what's not to like.

It's not reasonable to judge it so poorly over 4 months out from release.

I generally agree with all but ME3.

ME3 is going to leave me worried about future  Bioware products for a good long time.

Really the romances are completely skippable parts of the game. Pick the damn heartbreak option and keep it moving.
