Another useless post. You can disagree but there is no need to be insulting.

I am a very good ME3 player, probably one of the better ones out there, and I have experimented with just about every weapon and class.

If you disagree and think that most of the weapons in this game are good, then you must be using the Mantis, or Raptor etc in Bronze.

Yeah.. clearly I need to l2p.. I could write a small report on all the different ways you're wrong.

....but Venom?  :o

Oh…damn! Yeah Venom is amazing, one of my favorite gun. I knew I'd forgot some, hence I put "e.g."

Damn, a lot of you guys are quick to be rude little brats lol.

There. I did a little edit at the bottom of the OP. I am aware that there are quite a few I didn't list that are good weapons.

I see the responses saying "Well this is a good weapon" but nobody seems to be thinking about the huge amount of crappy weapons.

Assault rifles: Harrier, Typhoon. Everything else seems underwhelming. Yeah there are some good other ones to use but really are there any that are actually better and more worth while to take with you than those two? Unless weight is an issue but in that case you are probably using your powers more anyways and the weapon is secondary to that. Maybe the Lancer gets an honourable mention here but after using it, I was totally underwhelmed. Don't even get me started on the Spitfire, what a useless POS that is.

Pistols: For me there is just no reason to bring anything else with me but an Acolyte. It's got to be the best sidearm in the game in terms of quickly dismantling shields to then use a power (or another weapon that is good against armour). I just don't see the reason to bring any other pistol except for the rare time I want to use the Scorpion for fun.

SMG: Hurricane, again there simply doesn't seem to be a good reason to use anything else in the SMG class.

Sniper Rifle: Black Widow, Javelin. Let's face it the rest of them are just underwhelming and while you can get them to work pretty decently (I like trying the Indra from time to time) they are just in no way on the same level in terms of killing efficiency.

Shotguns: I prefer the Geth Plasma shotgun, but I know the Claymore is popular. The wraith is also pretty decent but the rest of them? I never even touch, again due to killing inefficiency.

On assault rifles: You forgot the Particle Rifle and M-7 Lancer, 2 good weapons with unlimited ammo.

Pistols: Missing out on the Talon and Arc Pistol. Both very light with a lot of damage.

SMG: While the Hurricane is amazing, the Tempest is not too bad. Collector SMG is also decent because again, unlimited ammo and BLood Pack Punisher is also good.

Sniper Rifle: Mostly agree, though Collector Rifle also again unlimited ammo and have seen some decent stats with the Valiant.

Shotgun: I know you forgot about the Reegar but the Piranha is still good. Crusader is also a good one as well.

Would it start with explaining how the Locust is a great SMG and should be used over the Hurricane?

I don't have the time to put in. Besides I just picked up the game again after over a year of not playing. I am not trying to brag but I say this because I have played with dozens of people with the BOTB banner, 100,000's of challenge points, completed challenges yadda yadda yadda and I have yet to be outscored by any of them let alone one so yes I can say I am pretty good ME3 player.

Do you think it's possible that a good player could possibly not understand how to use some weapons to their full potential?

Thanks for the mature response. I completely agree. It was a pretty hasty post and by no means was I trying to suggest that the ones I listed are the only good weapons in the game.

PPR I agree with, Lancer as well but to a lesser extent.

The tempest is good too and I used it a lot but I haven't used it once since obtaining the Hurricane. BPP I have tried and liked but still went back to the Hurricane because it is just a better weapon DPS wise. I disliked the CSMG, and again found no reason to use it over the Hurricane.

Reegar yes, completely forgot about it. The Piranha is also good. I have tried the Crusader but I don't see a reason to use it over the Reegar, Piranha, or Wraith.

To reiterate what a lot of people are saying, every gun can't be the "best". If there wasn't parody, what would the point be in having the amount of guns that we have in the game? Each gun can excel in it's own way, on certain kits. I don't think this is how you mean to come off, but it sounds like you want the common weapons to rival the ultra rares, which is silly. A lot of the guns you said were mediocre, or simply neglected to mention have their own church here on the BSN as one of the best guns in the game. Not everyone likes the same guns in the same ways. You shouldn't make a blanket statement to say there are far too many bad guns. I do think there are several rares that aren't worth or rare status, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good gun.

I've seen people kick ass with the Krisae, Disciple, Reegar Carbine...even a guy with a Katana shotgun.

I've done my fair share of ass-kicking with a Disciple.

Do you think it's possible that a player with high CPs and N7 is not good at the game?

I only partly agree. I think you wreck your argument by not mentioning the Sabre, Valkyrie (my go-to AR on castors), Eagle, Talon, Executioner, Valiant, Incisor, Crusader and Piranha.  They may not offer ultimate power, but they're all Gold Viable and offer an alternative to fun players like myself.  They also work well in their niches.

Where I do agree is that I wish the common weapons had a role past Silver.  I do still take the Avenger and Mantis out in Silver for a laugh, but they're too much hard work in Gold, and useless in Plat (unless you're a god :wizard: ).

5/10 for effort  :D

Well sure someone can suck regardless of their N7 or CP. Generally really high CP are a pretty decent indicator that a person can at least hold their own though.

I would probably go with the Locust was a solid headshot SMG and the Hurricane is overpowered even for an Ultra-Rare.

Hornet was a great rare SMG.

Tempest was my favorite SMG for a very long time. However, my new CSMG X is understandably better. The Hurricane is just ridiculous and I rarely use it for that reason.

Wrong. I feel there are way too many good weapons than the worthless ones. Your list is incomplete. :)
Snipers : BW, Valient , Javelin, Widow, even Mantis is good. Heck even Raptor is not bad.

Assault rifles: here you have a point. Still PPR is godlike. Valkyrie is not bad. Lately I am running Vindicator on TGI for chalenge and its not bad on him either.

SMG : tempest , BPP, hurrdurr is good. And how could you miss supreme CSMG? I prefer it over hurricane.

Shotgun: here you are so wrong. Except for Katana ( worthless piece of junk), Schimitar ( very good on AIU) and eviscerator, everything is good.
Pistol; here too there are very good weapons. Talon, Scorpion and Paladin ate ridiculously good. And then there is suppressor, executioner.

Of course, but it sure as hell doesn't mean they're good. Hence outscoring them gives no bragging rights - not that anything "accomplished" in a video game does.

Accurate players that can reliably land headshots, can make a lot of weapons look great. More often than not, it's the player - not the gun - that makes or breaks its performance. Certain players will suck with precision weapons due to their accuracy woes; I am a prime example due to my screwed up wrist. Hence, why I prefer to play power classes with a weapon like the Acolyte or the Venom, and not the Arc Pistol.

Whilst I can make any Adept or Vanguard look flat out dominating, I can actually make the GI Javelin look bad, due to the gross amount of shots that I miss. 20 Headshots medals are a pipe dream to me; aiming for the centre of mass, is the way to go for me. That's the adjustment some players have to make. Not everyone is a marksman, you know. And to make a weapon like the Tempest or even the Carnifex look great, you just have to hit the head consistently. In the end, the DPS of weapons is largely attributed to accuracy.

Personally, I find great fun in using what Nightslasher called "niche weapons." It's refreshing, not to use the same weapons over and over.

I definitely did leave out a lot in my OP as I have stated. I haven't played in over a year until a couple of days ago so I have forgotten a lot of weapons, such as the Valiant, the Eagle. etc.

I don't necessarily think that the starter weapons should be on par with the rares and ultra-rares, but as somebody mentioned above it would be good if they could at least compete past silver.

There are so many weapons that I like the look of, sound of, and effect of, but I just can't bring myself to use them because I will be hindering my in-game ability.

Anyways thanks to all who responded in an appropriate manner. I will definitely give some of these weapons another try when I play today, namely the Talon, Eagle, and Arc pistol.

Anti-mook sidearm.. same role as the Suppressor but lighter. Take advantage of the 300% headshot modifier and super light weight. Let your other gun be setup for boss killing.

Next.

Why do you need to use the most effective weapons there is? Isn't it more important to play whatever you like and have fun?

EDIT: try the CSR, it's an amazing weapon if you tap it instead of holding the trigger.
