Because...ermm...non-sync killers don't sync-kill?
But non sync killers can still kill you. I tend to try and not die no matter the enemy

By my experience in Silver, the (few) times I fall the most are from sync-kills and cowardly enemies who attack me from behind and spamming cover (I enjoy it SO MUCH when I find them and destroy their brains...
). In Gold, the same plus a new one: when I Charge and magically my barrier breaks on impact. I can't even do anything regarding or avoiding that but to desperately shoot, roll and aim for cover ¬¬ (no Nova, no Charge, not anything...I HATE, HATE, HATE when that happens).
The first two, I'm still working on fixing my style. The third one...guess I'll just Survival Ops when that happens ![]()
BTW, I use the Biotic Damage/Force path on Alliance training, War amp gear V +15, and Power amplifier mod +30. And sometimes I put on some extra power amplifier mod and warp ammo, if I feel like sparing some.
It's almost identical to the Lancer, which gets honorable mention overall. Its only real shortcoming in a direct comparison is its damage.
Given that it's a clip weapon, I would argue that the Phaeston should have slightly more damage than the Lancer, that would be the balancing factor, and make it a competitive weapon. I'd really like to use it more often.
The Phaeston is better then the Lancer and does a better job at killing things because... it's a clip weapon? OK. Right. ![]()

Try disruptor or incendiary...more things to detonate with charge and nova and more aoe potential.
Noted...although I mostly use the ammo I have the most quantity. In other words, it's pretty random ![]()
But I'll have that in mind.
And the BSN marches on with another dumb thread!

I can't like this post enough times. So true and wonderfully stated.
Thanks, I really appreciate that coming from you!
In general I think that weapon damage should be toned down a bit except for certain kits(which they would get compensation within the kit itself if needed).
It says quite a bit that a lot of "casters" are more effective using a weapons build than they are a power spam build. Right now, weapons are far superior to non grenade powers.
and as the thread has been informing you, there is a number of good weapons you've not mentioned in all categories.
The emphasis on weapon damage is due to the damn microtransaction system in the game. They primarily sell packs based on weapons because you have to unlock them multiple times to fully level them up, and they tend to be higher rarity. They designed the game to be more about grinding for packs because they want to encourage MTs for people who don't want to sink 800-1000 hours into the game to unlock everything. Same reason the rarity system exists at all, and why common and uncommon weapons feel underwhelming. Without the MT system I imagine we could have a system without rarity and a greater focus on niche weapons and finding ways to bring relevancy to all weapons.

I have myself posted in this thread, no need to be butthurt.
Well clearly you guys are missing my EDIT. Again.
Anyways Aedolon said it better than I did. That is pretty much what I was trying to say, sorry for leaving out some of your favourite weapons and even more sorry that you feel the need to have this knee jerk reaction to it.
Yup, that's what I've been arguing for since day one.
There's no need to have weapons that are better than others, just weapons that are different from others. The rarer a weapon is, the more unique mechanics it should have, potentially unlocking new ways to play the game.
I guess Venom fits in that particular category. Sort of same goes for claymore.
There are no useless weapons, only useless PUGs.
Why did it take me 8 pages to think of that?

I think the problem is redundant weapon styles. Basically every common and uncommon weapon is rendered obsolete by a rare weapon. then, some rare weapons are upgraded by UR weapons. Revenant->Typhoon, Widow->Javelin and BW, Carnifex->Paladin, Raider~>Wraith (sort of) and so on.
OMG I disagree with all of that !
Assault rifles : how can you not mention the PPR, the king of dps with perfect accuracy and infinite ammo ? The Saber is a beast too on kits with a boost to rate of fire.
Pistol ; Talon and Arc Pistol are monsters, the Paladin is great too. The Executioner can be a good killing machine on a character with an anti-shield power.
SMG : the Collector SMG is a better headshot machine than the Hurricane, and secondarily has infinite ammo.
Sniper rifles : Kishock, Collector sniper rifle and Widow are awesome too. The Valiant and the Indra have their use on kits who are inclined to use their powers frequently.
Shotguns : the Wraith "pretty decent" ? It's an awesome gun, as the Raider, the Crusader, the Piranha (try it on the GI and the TS, you will not be disappointed), the Venom and the Graal. Not to mention the Reegar, which gets some hate but can't be attacked in terms of killing efficiency.
I will not use the "L2P" argument OP, but I'm pretty sure that you haven't enough practice with the weapons I have spoken about.
ya know what? I withdraw my previous statement

Where is your god now?
